At Last: A Video of Alan Simpson (of Simpson-Bowles) Making Fun of Millennials & Dancing ‘Gangnam Style’

The Can Kicks Back, a non-partisan organization dedicated to educating Millennials about the national debt, on Tuesday released a video of former Wyoming Sen. Alan Simpson (of “Simpson-Bowles” and “I Hope Grover Norquist Drowns” fame) admonishing young Americans for not using social media to more productive ends.

He even does that ridiculous “Gangnam Style” dance with a guy in a giant can costume.

No, really:

Best line of the whole thing: “Stop Instagraming your breakfast.”

Now there’s a Simpson proposal we can get behind. Let’s be honest: No one cares what you ate for breakfast and a grainy, half-focused photo isn’t going to change that.

I love Al Simpson. As a politician, I don’t know that much about him, but as a person, he is always full of own brand of optimism, good cheer and humor. He doesn’t have a vengeful spirit and he is probably the most outspoken and sincere man in politics. He is constantly doing for others, not for kudos, but just because he loves people.

Well, it was a nice effort, but if Senator Simpson really wants our respect and admiration he would dress up in a banana suit and do the peanut butter jelly time song. :-)

You guys are forgetting the BEST of Alan Simpson:

The Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA), Pub.L. 99-603, 100 Stat. 3359, enacted November 6, 1986, also Simpson-Mazzoli Act, is an Act of Congress which reformed United States immigration law.

In brief the act:
* required employers to attest to their employees’ immigration status.
* made it illegal to knowingly hire or recruit unauthorized immigrants.
* legalized certain seasonal agricultural illegal immigrants.
* legalized illegal immigrants who entered the United States before January 1, 1982 and had resided there continuously with the payment of a fine, back taxes due, and admission of guilt. About three million illegal immigrants were granted legal status.

LOTS of folks TALK about amnesty — but Alan Simpson has WALKED the WALK!

Alan once was the voice of conservative reason, now he mostly just wants old people to die off so the bill for their Social Security and Medicare won’t come due.

As much as many of my friends fall under his comments and I support many of his views and opinions for the “millennial” generation….I still think he looks like Mr. Burns in this video when he’s “teaching” gangnam style.

On a more serious note, he’s right, the younger generation needs to educate themselves on fiscal reality. Took me a while to truly understand, and is taking me time to get back to where I should be…just like it will take many cuts to frivolous spending on the hill and tightening our governmental belts to get the country back on track.
