TheBlaze TV is partnering with two major production companies, including actor Vince Vaughn’s Wild West Productions, to launch a new reality show to find the next great news documentary.
“Pursuit of Truth” will bring together 20 filmmakers to prove their documentary ideas to compete for the ultimate prize of financing and worldwide distribution for their film. Handpicked by producers and executives, the contestants will have to showcase their creative chops before a panel of expert judges and will either succeed or be eliminated based on their filmmaking abilities.
TheBlaze TV is teaming up with Wild West Productions and Go Go Luckey Entertainment to make it happen.
“We are excited to continue to expand our programming with producers like Vince Vaughn, Peter Billingsley [of Wild West Productions] and Gary Auerbach [of Go Go Luckey Entertainment] ,” Joel Cheatwood, president and chief content officer for TheBlaze, said in a news release. “The documentary film, particularly those that seek the truth with no agenda, is an important art form that is struggling to survive in this media environment. We will be looking for stories that simply need to be told.”
Among the challenges contestants could be required to complete are pitching key documentary scenes to the judges, securing and producing an important interview or creating a demo reel.
“Getting any film beyond the idea stage has become increasingly difficult these days, especially for documentary filmmakers that want to shine a light and make a difference,” Billingsley said. “Our goal is to create a powerful annual platform to help filmmakers tell important and engaging stories.” (Click here for more from Glenn Beck’s interview with Peter Billingsley).
Auerbach, whose company produced the MTV hit “Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County” and whose clients have included ABC, NBC, Fox, A&E, the History Channel and others, said he’s excited to be proud to produce “such an important show for TheBlaze.”
“This project has special meaning for Go Go Luckey because it embodies such a worthy cause — enabling filmmakers to pursue the truth,” he said.
“Pursuit of Truth” will debut on TheBlaze in late spring 2013, but the deadline for competitors to enter ends Jan. 31, 2013. Information about applying can be found at pursuitofthetruth.com.
More information about the project can be found on GlennBeck.com.

Dec. 5, 2012 at 4:13pmMaybe they could rename the show once it officially starts… something like “TruthHunters” or just switch the current title around and call it “Pursuing Truth” “Chasing Truth” or grab the younger generation with a title like “Lie Killers” or “The Bloody Truth Vampires”
Oh nevermind… doh! O_o

Dec. 5, 2012 at 6:49pm@Brother Are you sure? Then does Beck now says he is done with the republican party and has been exposing and calling out progressives on the republican side and proclaims that the GOP the Wig party.
Why does he team up and associate himself with, promotes and give praise to the Judge Andrew Napolitano, Rand Paul and work with libertarians on all sides like Vince Vaughn?
Beck is not perfect but he is not the enemy. Wake up and look in the mirror. Your blind hatred for the man is blinding you from rational thought. Half of the time you sound like a blind sheep being lead by somebody.

Dec. 5, 2012 at 11:45pmWell, you see, The-Real-Enrico, it’s called a republican co-opting.
1. Beck ACTS (I repeat) ACTS “fed up.” Limbaugh and Hannity have been pulling the same SCAM for years.
2. Beck attaches himself to Ron Paul supporters AFTER HAVING LIED ABOUT PAUL, SMEARED HIM AND BLACKED HIM OUT for months.
3. Beck will ATTEMPT to “become” Liberty Movement (same as he did the “Tea Party” with FAKE-TEA Freedomworks).
4. After gaining their trust (I pray he fails), HE WILL TRICK THEM ALL TO VOTE FOR THE LEFTIST REPUBLICAN PARTY, JUST LIKE HE DID IN 08 and 12 – WHILE BOTH TIMES REJECTING REAL CONSERVATIVE RON PAUL for EMBARRASSINGLY NONSENSICAL “REASONS.”
FAKE-conservative/libertarian Glenn Beck IS an ABSOLUTE ENEMY of Constitutional Liberty. The leftist republican party IS a cancer to Constitutional Liberty and must be COMPLETELY AND WHOLLY REJECTED.

Dec. 6, 2012 at 2:26pm@Brother So this all about one person? Just because he wasn’t supporting Ron Paul in the primaries(which I agree was a mistake)?
I don’t agree with Beck all the time but we should be able to respect peoples differences. Glenn was open a why he disagreed and/or didn’t completely trust Ron.
Its because Ron does associate himself with a hand full anti-semitic people and groups. I disagree Glenn’s assessment and I don’t believe that Ron is actually anti-semitic. But that fact is Ron does associate himself with these people and I still can respect Beck but still disagree. Beck isn’t someone even close to supporting marxism and global marxism and or even a non constitutional person.
I can tell you now you don’t watch his show and don’t has a inform opinion. I agree with you Hannity and even Rush.

Dec. 6, 2012 at 2:34pm@Brother And my point was not why does Beck associate him wist – it is why does the Judge Andrew Napolitano and other real libertarians who get it associate them selves with him?
You think the Judge a ether both a fool and plant who is secretly working against our liberties and the constitution?

Dec. 5, 2012 at 4:00pmWhy would FAKE-conservative/libertarian REPUBLICAN (liar) pursue “truth?”
I suspect, with Ron Paul supporter Vince involved, this is the FIRST OFFICIAL ATTACK of the REPUBLICAN CO-OPTERS, like Beck, to CO-OPT Ron Paul’s Liberty Movement.

Dec. 5, 2012 at 3:46pmI wish glenn would start an american history network. He could start in say 1750, and cover around 10 years every week until he gets to where we are now,, then start again with updates and new relavent info.Put it on in the afternoon and weekends so that kids could watch it. Maybe even incorperate it into a homeschooling course. He could have guests such as david barton narate it…..I think it would be cool.

Dec. 5, 2012 at 7:00pmThe is some history on there. However, I’m talking about making a continuing series….like the one that is on the history channel…with actors….and recreate the events that happened. I just find it amazing to hear how the left has distorted the history they are teaching in high school and college. They ALWAYS make americans out to be the bad guys. I think the postive needs to be reenforced, and the young people, {high shool an college} need to get that sense of pride back again.

Dec. 5, 2012 at 11:49amThis is all BS, All the real stories will continue to be ignored.. For example: “natural born” in the Constitution means your mother and father were American citizens, Not “Native born” which means you were simply born in the US. If anyone can see through the “conspiracy theory” fog take a look at the fact that Obama and Romney are neither “natural born” therefore are not eligible to be president of the United States. Article 2 section 1 paragraph 5 read it and you will realize that there are many true stories to be told, but will not be touched.
Obama’s dad was a Kenya citizen and Romney’s a Mexico citizen (duel citizenship clause)

Dec. 5, 2012 at 10:06amI would like to see them create a show where people are chosen to go live like Pioneers . People that are tired of the fast corporate world are paired with people who are familiar on how to live off the land. Would love to see the actual progression on how the modern person progresses from the fast life to the old time, biblical life. Would be great to see it. Rather than a competition, it would be a success to reach the end (one year) before asking to leave.

Dec. 5, 2012 at 11:53amCan’t remember the name of the show, but they did one like that up here in Canada about 10 years ago.
A guy about 50 with his wife, (Not too many young people know how to handle a horse and wagon.) and a young couple in their twenties who always “fantasized” about the life.
The last taste they got of modern civilization for a year was supplies they loaded in the wagon and trailed out to the boonies.
They lived in a tent with the bugs and pests until they cold build a sod hut, and they had to clear a track of land for spring planting before winter set in, all using only technology available back then.
If I remember right, the young couple were city raised, and they got sick and tired of the life pretty quick, Visiting the neighbors mean miles of walking, or hitching up the wagon and when it’s twenty below for a couple months, you just don’t bother.
The old man I think even had to go in to the hospital for something, for something which if it had been in the pioneer days, his wife would most likely have buried him out behind the barn.
If you search for it I’m sure you’ll find something online.

Dec. 5, 2012 at 3:27pmLara, the actually did do this onPBS several years ago, I found it by accident, because I don’t usually care for their programing—they dropped 4 families off in the Rocky Mountains in a valley and these people had all kind of qualifications–one woman was a nutritionist, one family farmed, one man was a professional hunter, one man and his son spent every vacation fishing, one woman preserved everything—at the end, none of them would have survived—-half of them gave up, and went back to town, and the few that stayed, would have starved, even though they thought they did well–one didn’t have enough food put up for the number of farm animals that they had, and the other family didn’t have enough protein or staples. They also had one where people were taken back to the stone age–on another channel, believe it or not, the vegetarian of the group was the first to quit—she was starving—never did understand that, since they were also in the woods in early spring–most of the rest of the group would have survived.
