Right on Cue: ‘Colbert for Senate’ Launches Following DeMint Announcement

Hot on the heels of Sen. Jim DeMint’s announcement that he is resigning his South Carolina Senate seat to lead the conservative Heritage Foundation, a “Colbert for Senate” effort has launched.

It’s not clear whether Comedy Central host Stephen Colbert himself is behind the push, though Colbert has a history of trying to inject himself into South Carolina politics.

The “Colbert Report” host famously explored a “run” for “president of the United States of America of South Carolina” earlier this year and established his own super PAC, “Americans for a Better Tomorrow, Tomorrow.”

An as-yet unverified Twitter account, @ColbertforSC, posted several messages within two hours of DeMint’s announcement:

The Twitter account also linked to a website, colbertforsenate.com, which was registered but not developed as of Thursday afternoon.

Colbert and his supporters are likely destined for disappointment in getting the host appointed to fill DeMint’s seat. Gov. Nikki Haley, a Republican, will make the call and is no doubt familiar with Colbert’s bombastic, faux-conservative stage personality.

Lets not forget Al Franken!!!!!!!!! Barry and Crime inc would bend over backwards to get Colbert elected just to make a mockery of our constitution. Look at the dumbass Alvin Green and see how many votes that demorat actually received when he ran, its a scary thought that we have the most dumbest uninformed citizens. South Carolina already suffers with that “Modern Day Plantation Leader” James Clyburn, look at his district the highest unemployment in the state and does nothing to improve it.He cryed like a baby and the Dems gave him a made up position LMAO what a dam joke for a politician. My advise to Colbert stay where you are at least your earning your pay check honestly.

I like the option of Tim Scott but I would like to see the SC Governor really kick Soros, Pelosi, Obama, Clinton and the San Fran org in the nuts by appointing Allen West. There was a reason why they spent tens of millions to defeat Allen West – a first term congressman!

You are blind blaze readers. This man has a foundation to help injured vets returning from the wars and has raised tons of money for them. His superpac was instrumental in the democrats victory this election. We need more people like him to have a voice that can be heard. Just because he points out how stupid and hypocritical the conservative argument is on things, you all villify him.
