On Thursday evening, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie appeared on “The Daily Show,” where he and host Jon Stewart discussed and debated a plethora of issues. From chatting about their mutual love for singer Bruce Springsteen to accusations that the Republican leader is being hypocritical in his efforts to lobby for additional federal funds, the discussion was diverse.
NJ.com provides a recap of some of the more noteworthy discussion surrounding the political nature of the dialogue:
…the interview turned political quickly with the unapologetically liberal Stewart implying that Christie was hypocritical for lobbying for federal funding for Sandy recover and rebuilding on the same day he vetoed the health exchanges, a major tenant of the Affordable Care Act.
“People have different skill sets at different times,” Christie said, adding he and Obama didn’t discuss the health care law when they met in the Oval office earlier in the day.
“I think he understands there’s all different kinds of issues. You’ll agree on some, disagree on others.”
In the first few minutes of the interview, though, the men found common ground. After discussing New Jersey and their joint hope that the state rebounds following Hurricane Sandy, Christie described meeting and hugging Springsteen. Watch part one, below:
In the second part of the interview, Stewart confronted Christie about the Republican Party’s view on health care and the governor’s recent veto of exchanges in New Jersey.

Dec. 7, 2012 at 2:50pmI could never vote for Christie, a sell out, dishonest politician that will move to whatever wind is convenient to him. Never like him, never will
it amused me that some people though he was great just because he is a “loud mouth”… that goes to show how easily some get “Impressed” for the wrong reason. Being loud and using foul language doesn’t make you tough or smart, words don’t make you anything,if your actions don’t follow, and his actions speak for itself. Always saw him as a poser and an fake.

Dec. 7, 2012 at 2:49pmThe people of NJ pay taxes the same as anyone else in this country. He people of NJ deserve as much relief as the Demo states. He feels that he has to fight harder to get a fair share of relief because he is a Republican, and rightfully so.

Dec. 7, 2012 at 2:38pmChristie is meeting with big bucks obama himself today begging for more money. He’ll get it too – he tipped the scale in obama’s favor the last week of the campaign. Thanks a lot Christie…..Now stop begging for more of my taxpayer money. You reap the benefits of your coastline all year long – taxes from tourism – use some of those for repairs.

I disagree with much of what Christie believes to be the proper role of government, but at least he takes stands.

Dec. 7, 2012 at 11:08amI remember when this obese leftist “yelled” at a teacher on video. All the republicans said he was JUST THE KIND OF CONSERVATIVE AMERICA NEEDS. I remember being laughed at by these republicans and being called a “lib troll,” as I tried to explain that his RECORD indicates that he is a FAKE-conservative. Now, THE SAME REPUBLICANS are calling Christie a “RINO” (as if he’s ANY DIFFERENT THAN ANY OTHER republican).
**SPOILER ALERT**
99% of republicans ARE “RINO!”
HOW MANY ELECTION CYCLES are we going to fall for the SAME REPUBLICAN SCAM?!?!?!?!

Dec. 7, 2012 at 10:22amChristie allows anything. He’s enamored with the Left, and they are admitting him into their circle, which is what he clearly desires. On the way down that path he will do his best to discredit the small government philosophies, out of a desire to please his new friends and be popular. This is how they work, with the weak minded.

Dec. 7, 2012 at 11:58amMaybe inconsistency more than hypocrisy.
On healthcare – Romney supported the provisions of Obama-care (force insurance companies to cover per-existing conditions, …) but not Obamacare itself. How Romney planned to force them to cover something and not compensate them for this regulation. Romney if free-loaders don’t have insurance then they can show up in hospital. Why should we pick up the tabs of freeloaders? So inconsistent from Republican position of personnel responsibility and less regulations.

Dec. 7, 2012 at 8:33am“The Truth” changes at the drop of a hat.
Mr. Beck used to play parts of Gov. Christie’s speeches and call then Christie porn.
Now he vilifies him at every opportunity.
The hypocrisy of Mr. Beck is astounding.
When announcing his new reality show earlier in the week, Mr. Beck says it’s origins were in a dinner he had in Chicago (Chicago??) several years ago.
At that dinner was an “Almost Communist” who was saying outrageous things.
Mr. Beck said right then he knew he had to do business with those at the dinner because they understood free speech.
A Communist understanding Free Speech???????

By engaging Marxist as Beck will do, points out the fallacies of their argument. You should find an old copy of “Masters of Deceit” by J Edgar Hoover to see Communism in America laid out.

Dec. 7, 2012 at 10:16amUm, Mary, dear, when somebody acts honorable and good and you think he’s honorable and good, you tend to like him. When the same person then does a 180 and acts poorly and is unapologetic about his actions, you don’t continue to praise him.
You do know this right? Is this somehow an alien concept to you? You see, those of us not on the Left tend to admit error without shame and condemn wrongdoing. You see hypocrisy because the Left never admits wrong and never condemns its own, due to its cult like framework.
Get a grip dear, and in the future, please do try to keep up.

Dec. 7, 2012 at 10:23amStewart, like most leftists (I refuse to call them “liberals” because when it comes to marxism, that is a contradiction in terms) has a problem with moral equivalence. To him, accepting federal disaster relief for damage done by a fluke hurricane is the equivalent of complying with an unfunded federal mandate to set up a state-taxpayer funded health insurance exchange. On what planet are the two equivalent? If Jon Stewart is where most low-information voters are getting their information, it explains the number of incredibly stupid people who believe Obama is fixing the economy and that Obamacare will bring down the cost of health care for everybody.
