Crist Makes it Official, Will Join Democratic Party
Former Florida Governor Charlie Crist tweeted Friday night that he will be joining the Democratic Party. Crist served as a Republican, and lost as an independent candidate in the 2010 Florida U.S. Senate election won by his GOP primary rival Marco Rubio.

Charlie Crist Tweet, and accompanying photo at the White House with his wife and party change paperwork on Dec. 7
The move heightens speculation that Crist may challenge current Republican Governor Rick Scott in 2014 for his old job back. Crist supported Democrat Barack Obama in the 2012 presidential election, and embraced the president’s policy on the stimulus during his first term. Crist signed the paperwork changing parties at the White House Christmas reception Friday.
“I’ve had friends for years tell me, ‘You know Charlie, you’re a Democrat and you don’t know it,’ ” Crist told The Tampa Bay Times.Β Despite often advocating right-leaning policies on taxes and gun control, Crist has been a strong supporter of raising pay for teachers and a voting record in the Legislature mostly in favor of abortion. Crist told the Times that he was incited to leave the GOP because of party leadership and his postions on immigration, education and the environment.
During a speech at the 2012 Democratic National Convention, Crist said that βhalf a century ago, Ronald Reagan, the man whose relentless optimism inspired me to enter politics, famously said that he didn’t leave the Democratic Party; the party left him.
“I can certainly relate.β
In CONTROL, Glenn Beck presents a passionate, fact-based case for guns that reveals why gun control isnβt really about controlling guns at all; itβs about controlling us. You’re both ignorant and know nothing of what libertarians stand for. It’s the Republicans who take anyone under their wings(See John Mccain). And besides not everyone is on MSNBC is a communist drone. Thats like saying that just cause Geraldo Rivera on Fox he is a conservative, which he obviously is not he is very liberal. And at no point had Ron Paul or Napolitano ever supported the destruction of Israel, all they want is diplomatic means to come first and only to use war as a last resort. Maybe you should do some research before you two open your mouths about stuff you know nothing about. Or maybe you two are just more mindless drones who worship your conservative authoritarian gods.

Posted on December 8, 2012 at 11:11pmPlay 6 degrees of separation of Charlie Crist to Solyndra scandal you say? Sure…I’ll do it in 3 moves and then some.
As FL governor, Crist worked with US Sugar to turn a good swathe of US Sugar’s land over to both Everglades restoration projects along with creating several new algae biofuel plants. Everglades and algae go together like white and rice, wouldn’t you say?
Crist’s chief of staff, Eric Eikenberg, takes job as lobbyist with law firm, Holland & Knight, after Crist’s failed Senate attempt in 2010.
Holland & Knight helped draft policy and loan guarantees from DoE to Solyndra.
Occupy Wallstreet lists “restoring wetlands” as one of their “10 demands.”
Obama heads to Miami in mid 2012 to give speech touting algae biofuel as the fuel of the future.
Crist endorses Obama for Re-election.
Eric Eikenberg, leaves Holland and Knight to take job as head of the Everglades Foundation…the foundation overseeing the “restoration” of land sold to state by US Sugar…which happens to have algae biofuel plants on it. Also happens to have board members associated with Soros outfits like Center for American Progress.
Obama wins re-election.
Crist announces that he’s now a democrat, with rumors he’ll now seek higher offices once again. But I’ll bet he has a cabinet post in his future. Something closely related to “alternative energy” policy perhaps.

You betchra.
Elections are not about simply one party or another gaining power, if half of the majority undermines the effort on behalf of their opponents.
Jefferson drew a bright line that sill holds today:
“Where the principle of difference [between political parties] is as substantial and as strongly pronounced as between the republicans and the monocrats of our country, I hold it as honorable to take a firm and decided part and as immoral to pursue a middle line, as between the parties of honest men and rogues, into which every country is divided.β ~Thomas Jefferson to William Branch Giles, 1795. ME 9:317
I am going to suggest that for practical purposes, there is the division we must take into account: the honest and the rogues. We must come together as honest men, and insist that our nation be based on honesty, else we will have no place in all the world to live.
God bless
S
βWe know the cause which we are engaged inβ¦ We fight not to enslave, but to set a country free, and to make room upon the earth for honest men to live in.” ~Thomas Paine, The Crisis, no. 4, 1777

Posted on December 8, 2012 at 11:08amThe very last sane, rational Democrat was JFK. Since his death, the Democratic Party has become extremely anti-constitutional and pro-Marxist. If John Kennedy were alive today, idiots like you would be calling him a “*********.” There is zero comparison between what the Democratic Party was 50 years ago (when it was still progressively liberal) and today’s Democratic Party. Back then, they were still anti-Communist. Today, the Communists link arms with the Democrats. If you go to their websites, they all are very enthusiastic about Obama’s private sector-killing policies.
I’d like it very much if someone like yourself could rationally explain how the “right wing” in the GOP are “wack jobs,” because I would contend that the only rational people in American politics today are those who want to support and protect our rule of law (the US Constitution), and a form of government that protects our freedoms and liberties, rather than an enormous central authority that controls and regulates every aspect of our lives. I’d also contend that your notions of “rational thought” and “sanity” cannot be supported in a rationally sane debate.

Posted on December 8, 2012 at 3:41pmI agree with you Wipie, Crist is excellent for the Dems. His record supports this move. You are in good company, just don’t share his toilet paper, especially after he’s used it. On second thought, go ahead and share it for the sake of recycling!

Posted on December 8, 2012 at 10:31amALL RHINOS should leave and show their true colors !
We never like being told what they think we want to hear anyway.
We respect someone when they say what they think… not what they think we want to hear.
Example… NJ Christie… Like him or not, he says what he thinks.
Would I ever vote for Christie? Nope… but I respect that he says what he thinks…
Same thing when I lived in Chi-Town… Richard M Daley… Never voted for him but respected him.
