Egypt Detains Suspected Ringleader of Sept. 11 Benghazi Attack

Egyptian authorities have detained a man named Muhammad Jamal Abu Ahmad with United States assistance after he petitioned al-Qaeda to create a new branch in Egypt, and allegedly helped lead the September 11 attack on a U.S. consulate in Libya that killed four Americans.

According to Fox News, counterterrorism experts say Ahmad could be one of the biggest terrorist threats to emerge in the wake of the “Arab Spring.” He was one of the many prisoners released from various Egyptian jails when former leader Hosni Mubarak was overthrown, and immediately went to work assembling his own terrorist network in Egypt and neighboring Libya.

Officials believe he was receiving funding from al-Qaeda in Yemen, and the Wall Street Journal notes that the Benghazi attack would give Ahmad a “major boost…in their eyes.”

The United States has not yet had access to Ahmad, according to reports, and it is unclear how he was captured.

Fox News adds:

Ahmad’s capture is “strategically important” to the U.S., said Seth Jones, an al Qaeda specialist with the Rand Corp. think tank, because his network’s alleged involvement in the Benghazi attacks showed his reach extended beyond Egypt, and more broadly into North Africa. His petitioning to become a new Al Qaeda branch suggested more international aspirations, U.S. officials said.

Ahmad’s terrorist aspirations closer to home appear to have put him in Egyptian authorities’ sights.

This is all part of te BS story to CONTINUE the Benghazi cove-up. The Administration and Intel folks are working so hard to cover this up from America and congress because to a lage part they WILL NOT admit some of the wapons they were runing from the CIA OP center faux consulate ended up being used against Americans in Afghanistan.

  Don’t kid yourself KINDLING. This guy could finger Obama as the person that put the plan in his hand yet the media is already pushing this guy out as the bad guy and ignoring the root causes of failure. Obama would just deny any involvement and this guy gets sent off to some unknown “prison” to live his merry years out untouched.
  
  The story is neatly buttoned up and it also makes Morsi look good as he was nabbed in Egypt. Neat and tidy, just how the media likes it.

  OLEFOR; I think the mysterious video is the greatest conundrum of all in this . The fact that the Administration used this video for weeks to target the cause of the 9/11 demonstrations ( After the parroted / repeated ” Osama died; GM lived ” baloney at the DNC ) makes me highly suspicious of both what “inspired” this video and what ever happened to those involved. Have a feeling there are FBI and California / prisoned individuals, who know what really happened here. Not sure where they all are now ! Doubt that we’ll ever hear from them . This story fits perfectly with the Morsi “change of heart” story. Neither gets to the root of a problem. This one takes the public eye off the “stand down” order and lack of security after numerous requests, and shifts it towards a “bad guy” who carried out an act.

What tidy little packages are coming out from the “media” lately!

The amount of ” distraction ” and the lack of follow-up ( Fast and Furious, classic example ) in really important cases during this Hidden School Records / Chicago Radical Obama Democrats is appalling . Apparently, the values of Hoover as well as JFK , are now history in this “changed ” Obama Administration ! ( Can’t you see why they have always played the Race Card often and early….to cover up that totally Marxist / International Left direction they are taking this country ? ) America ? Yes, I see now. Muslim Brotherhood is good, our pals. I’m so glad we have someone over there to cover our backs. I have no doubt that evil Israel was about to form a caliphate and take over the world. Obama is all over this, no worries. Funny his ring states Allah is the one true God, I’m sure its a misprint. And when he said” if the winds of change blow, I stand with Islam”…..Islam/America, you can see how thats mis interpreted. Fort Hood, workplace violence ……Benghazi. I’M guessing this guy will not last long enough to tell us what really happened
For many they would like to say, hey we caught the bad guy, he was shot running way, lets turn the page and move on
Benghazi was nothing more that a Republican distraction, trying to put Preident Obama, and Mrs Clinton in a bad light
