Man Fatally Shoots TSA Officer in Ohio Before Turning Weapon on Himself

(TheBlaze/AP) — A Transportation Security Administration officer was fatally shot by her husband Sunday before he killed himself on an off-site parking lot at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, authorities said.

Before turning the gun on himself, the husband fired at a second TSA employee but missed, police spokesman Sgt. Sammy Morris said. The late morning shooting at an airport employee parking lot was an apparent homicide and suicide, Morris said.

No names were immediately released.

Morris said the husband and wife were estranged, but investigators weren’t sure of a motive for the shooting.  However, it seems highly likely the attack was personal.

The wife and the second TSA employee were commuting to work; the husband apparently followed his wife to the lot, blocked her in her car by his vehicle, and then began firing, Morris said.  He shot at his wife at least five times, according to WOIO, but failed to hit the second TSA employee.

Morris said the wife and the other TSA employee, a man, were not romantically involved.

The shooting occurred at a lot north of the airport in an industrial area along Interstate 480.

This is a breaking news story.  Updates will be added.

How about. Man shoots wife in airport parking lot.
I envisioned some guy shooting a TSA employee in the security line.

I’m with you. I fully expected to see a story about some traveler going off the deep end after someone from TSA goes after their junk. Instead it’s nothing more than a domestic dispute that unfortunately happened at an airport. I find the Blaze leading with a deceptive headline more and more often…sad.

This is not another case of the “gun culture” resulting in loss of life. Just another case of a male considering his wife to be property to do with what he wished. Shame he didn’t just cut to the chase and off himself, leaving his wife out of the loop.

Please explain what “gun culture” means. And while at it please tell us how the gun got at the airport and shot he poor woman. Perhaps you are confused….I think you meant the “man culture”. If it wasn’t a gun, he would have stabbed her, perhaps run her over with his car or strangle her. Once again, define the “gun culture” for us. I will like to hearthe point of view comming from a Koolaid drinker.

keatonc, Why? You don’t even need to be able to read the ballot, or know anything about the policies of the candidates to vote. If you screw up with a gun, you kill a couple of people. If you screw up at the ballot box, you can be responsible for the deaths of millions. More people will die as a result of the Independent Payment Advisory Boards set up under Obamacare than will die from gun violence in the next two decades, but millions still voted for Obamao.

Now as to the fact she’s dead and the other injured, while I don’t wish them harm, I can’t help but not feel sorry for them. They are TSA goons, afterall.

The title of this article was quite misleading, and the article was even worse.

As I’ve said before, the problem isn’t your fellow diner at IHOP, your **** dresser or your waitress….. the threat and the problem is usually the husband or boyfriend of your fellow diner, **** dresser or waitress. The firearm is just the implement they choose to use. In a perfect gun control world where there were no firearms, rocks, crowbars, hammers, pieces of pipe, baseball bats and fire, just to name a few would be used.

Many years ago there was a small diner down the street from where I lived. The estranged boyfriend of one of the waitresses tried to set her and the diner on fire and also set himself on fire in the entrance of the diner. No firearms involved, many dead and injured.

Just recently, didn’t some guy kill his father and his wife, and then himself with a machete?

The firearm is not the problem.

As a liberal i think we have room for compromise as far as Guns are concerned. I agree with your right to own a fire arm. These are the exemptions and terms Id like to see in place however, just 2. 1. No ak47s no military grade assault riffles. at best they are fun to shoot. at worst you have mass shootings in colorado movie theaters, 2. I believe every person in every state should have to pass a gun safety class before being able to purchase a gun. just like getting your drivers license. we agreed?

The comment about Obama voters owning guns was uncalled for. My husband and I are gun owners, we live off the land, and learned to use guns when we were of age to hold one. Our parents taught us right from wrong and we never “played with guns”. Guns do not kill people, people kill people. The gun doesn’t jump up by itself and say…”I think I’ll shoot someone.” And no….we didn’t vote for Obama! Popular vote went to Mitt Romney, unfortunately the morons who don’t respect guns or where they belong voted Obama back into the Whitehouse. The same people who have no common sense!

Only once the conflict is past the “point of no return” and sides are clearly defined. The President would turn public sentiment to the opposition if drones were used in anything other than a full- blown civil war… and even then.. people have family all over the place. it would hurt their effort more than anything. In the mean-time… those AKs would come in pretty handy pour la resistance.

No we don’t. There are enough firearms laws on the books. We need to enforce those, not write up more laws that will accomplish nothing. You, as a liberal, need to get over your brainwashing that mandates that govt is the cure to all ills.

… what a terribly misleading title. The TSA officer was the gunaman’s wife. It’s not like he shot her because she worked for the TSA.

Could you imagine being wed to someone that had no alternative to being a Federal Air Transport Aviation Security Service occifer? They were unemployable before FAT-ASS and are still unemployable in DHS. Blackhirts, brownshirts and blueshirts all.

GeeZeus, how do you handle the tragedy of Stalin’s Great Terror with 60 Million dead, or does it matter that the blueshirts are friends?

Domestic Violence, and Obama will now use this irregardless to hound and howl for more gun control or the elimination of all guns.

Police did not speculate on a motive for the shooting. Really it is easy for me “DOMESTIC VIOLENCE”. He has anger management control issues. She is either divorcing his ass and lives elsewhere or she gave him lip (in his own mind) before she left for work and this is payback.

The story is always the same with these guys. It is about losing control, so he will teach the other person. Then he is such A COWARD he offs himself. Good riddance on his part and enjoy hell forever. May she rest in peace and hopefully no children are without parents, but I will guess there is.
I am also going out on a limb here and guess this is a black on black crime. Maybe he was trying to out do the Kansas City football player or inspired by him. If I am wrong, I will apologize for jumping to the wrong conclusion. Gut feeling is I will be correct.

black on black crime? Could be right. What part of the story makes you feel this way? And if you are right, what ifference would it make? Just curious.

The headline is misleading. In fact, It looks like it came straight from MSNBC. The headline implies that someone murdered a TSA agent at random. This story sounds more like an act of domestic violence, in which a man kills his wife and then turns the gun on himself. This is a tragic story.
Headlines like this will be used to justify outright gun bans.

There have been many attempts to ban guns. Most recently the UN small arms treaty. The liberals and the globalists make no bones about what their goal is.
