Real? New Video Claims to Show Syrian Victims of a Chemical Attack

Syrian Rebels Claim New Video Shows Victims of Chemical Weapons Attack

Two Israeli news sites Sunday morning reported on a video allegedly posted by Syrian rebels over the weekend purporting to show four victims of a chemical attack outside Aleppo. With the possibility any use of chemical weapons by President Bashar Assad’s forces could prompt U.S., European or NATO intervention in the nearly two-year civil conflict, the allegation that chemical weapons have already been used could have dire consequences for President Assad.

TheBlaze is unable to verify the veracity of the tape. The video was loaded onto YouTube by someone calling himself Aziz Majid. Some of those commenting in English on YouTube suggest the video could have been staged while others believe it is authentic.

The tape shows four individuals who appear to be in a hospital. One man sits in a chair in a hallway, one woman sits on a gurney and, in the same room as her, two – either teenagers or young men – lay next to one another on a gurney. All of their faces appear to be disfigured, while bandages on hands and feet are visible.

The Times of Israel which first reported on the story early Sunday morning writes:

Syrian rebels on Saturday uploaded to YouTube a clip purportedly depicting victims of a chemical weapons attack perpetrated by the regime. The video shows Syrian civilians, some apparently dead and others injured, whose faces were disfigured in a manner that could be caused by a chemical agent.

The rebels claim that the video was filmed in a suburb of Aleppo, where the Syrian regime reportedly maintains its largest depot of chemical weapons.

On Saturday, the Syrian Foreign Ministry vowed government forces would never use nonconventional weapons on their own people.

“No chemical or biological weapons will ever be used, and I repeat, will never be used, during the crisis in Syria no matter what the developments inside Syria,” said Syrian Foreign Ministry spokesman Jihad Makdissi.

The foreign minister suggested that opposition fighters could themselves use chemical weapons to frame the government and thus prompt international military intervention. “Terrorist groups may resort to using chemical weapons against the Syrian people… after having gained control of a toxic chlorine factory” east of Aleppo, Makdisi said.

A story in Sunday’s New York Times suggests just how complicated intervention could be for the U.S. and its allies. The Times reports that Syrian rebels tied to Al Qaeda are playing a key role in the uprising, raising the question could Western intervention in the conflict end up aiding Islamic terrorists?

The Israeli site Arutz 7 offered this take on the video:

Fears of the worst possible scenario in Syria have been confirmed in a video released by rebels that shows victims of chemical warfare.[…]

An almost sure sign that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has unleashed his chemical weapons for use against rebels is his regime’s claim on Saturday that rebels are preparing to use chemicals in their uprising. Assad systematically has accused opposition forces, which he labels as “foreign terrorists,” of carrying out attacks and murders for which his own loyalists are responsible.[…]

If President Barack Obama thought that his warning would be enough to stop Assad, he apparently is mistaken. Assad knows that if he does not defeat the opposition, his fate is death, and probably in a way no more humane than his brutal suppression of the uprising if not in a way similar to that of his old friend, Libyan dictator Muammar Qaddafi.

Adding to reports from the U.S. last week, British Foreign Secretary William Hague on Saturday said he is concerned about growing the evidence the Syrian government could use chemical weapons:

“We are extremely concerned about the stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons, and we are also concerned about evidence during the last couple of weeks that the regime could use them,” Hague said, as quoted by AFP.

“We have contingency plans concerning chemical weapons but will not disclose them,” he added. He said military intervention has not been “ruled out.”

Last Monday, President Barack Obama warned of consequences should Assad decide to use chemical weapons.

“The use of chemical weapons is and would be totally unacceptable and if you make the tragic mistake of using these weapons, there will be consequences and you will be held accountable,” he said.

White House Spokesman Jay Carney said the use of chemical weapons would “cross a red line for the United States,” though he did not say if the U.S. would militarily intervene.

Hopefully, one of the reporters on the ground in Syria will visit the hospital depicted in the video, interview the doctors or other eyewitnesses and provide further information on what exactly happened.

      We all know Iraq had WMDs but it was easier to BS the mentally challenged people of the US. If you want to see the full effects of chemical weapons then look at pictures taken from the Iraq/Iran war.

      Do you think Israel wants to bomb chemical weapon sites in Syria to stop the Government from using those weapons on rebels or to stop those weapons from falling into the hands of terrorist?

      I have always wondered why it was so easy to dupe the US goverment and other NATo countries. Example: a mortar lands in the middle of a open air bazar and kills X amount of people and the government in the fight with rebels always gets blamed.

      Barry the nobel peace prize winner. Who is against war and promised to remove troops from Afghanistan and Iraq, but has been the influence behind the over throw of Egypt, Libya, and now Syria. How many innocent lives where lost because of Barry’s failed foreign policies and how armed are the terrorist that have been killing US troops in Afghanistan and Iraq?

      Who doubts that the US Government would not do the same thing to American citizens too. If millions of Americans were peacefully protesting across the nation, Obama would order the USAF to begin loading up some tactical nuclear weapons on their bombers.       That’s correct, KidCharlemagne.

      This is a propaganda piece. The “rebels” intend to use gas to try and force the NATO forces into the conflict. Mr Obama has already laid the ground for this in his recent statements.

      Here is a recent clip of the “rebels” testing gas on rabbits. Towards the end there is the usual cry of “Allahu Akbar” over the dead rabbits.

      The above reports are a propaganda setup to allow Mr Obama, and his good friend Turkish president Erdogan, to carry out the MB objective of crushing the Syrian government and installing its own regime.

      This is an extension of the Saudi Arabian/Qatari plan that lead to the Benghazi tragedy.

      It is becoming increasingly clear that Mr Obama supports the Muslim Brotherhood, our enemies, and may yet expend American treasure, if not lives, to further their objectives.

      Yes, out of Libya and into Turkey. That is why Amb. Stevens was in Benghazi meeting with the Turkish official. The killing of Stevens was a Russian/Irianian hit.

      If one listens carefully, towards the end of the rabbit video the man says “Syria” several times as well as “Inshallah” (God willing) while pointing at the dead rabbits. I don’t speak arabic, but the meaning seems clear enough to me.

      The Voice To America program today has been speaking of American troops being sent to the Syrian – Turkish border. One person speaking on the show stated that Syrian rebels (those Obama supports) have gained control of chlorine chemicals from one or more factories in the territories they hold.

      So the more I see this video, and especially the portion you point out, the more this seems to be a propaganda ploy by the Muslim Brotherhood. I will not be surprised if Obama decides to send in troops before the fiscal cliff is crossed, so he comes off as a ‘hero’ to his base among the democrats.

      Even more, the Washington Times online press has a article detailing that the administration has known of Benghazi being a hot seat for extremism for many a year.

      If you intend to do some extra digging, try following the line of Sudan (Bashir) and into Benghazi to the Turkish Prime Minister and into Syria.

      You will probably find intel on some of the rebels and extremists coming from the Caucuses, plus check out the connections of the Sufi branch of Islam. This will start with Bashir and lead you to a few surprises.

      Benghazi was not an Russia/Iran hit, look to Yemen and Egypt to the bands that hit our embassies there.

      However, you need to be aware that Ambassador John Bolton was an active participant in the cover-up of the Iran-Contra scandal of the 1980′s:

      Whatever is going on I know that we need have nothing to do with this part of the world. Let those people fight their own civil war, either side is our enemy. Every time we do something over there we hurt ourselves in some way, wasting lives, trillions of dollars, helping the brotherhood or al queda.We should pull our troops home from all over the world , secure our borders, and mind our own business, Obama and all of his friends need to go for this to happen!

    it might be a chemical burn, but I see no evidence of an attempt to get these people out of their clothes, wash off the chemicals in a shower, why is there no hospital beds or setting that looks like a hospital? I think this is done by Pale-WOOD I see nothing here that proves any evidence of anything that the nasty muslims are claiming.

    For having already received some measure of professional medical care (from what the “victims” look like), I find it very odd that they are still in their own street clothes after a chemical attack……which would leave their clothing highly contaminated. Yet nobody else seems concerned that these 4 people would should still be sloughing off skin and be practically naked.

    Whether these pictures are fakes or not is beside the point. A rogue, terrorist regime exists in Syria and is a threat to our ally and a funnel for Iranian arms and mischief. If we know they have these weapons and where they are concetrated we should hit them now with standoff weapons. We should have hit Syria a long time ago. We can destroy and degrade their capabilities without comitting ground troops or taking sides. We should do what we should have done in Iraq, monitor what’s going on and blow away concentrations of terrorists, weapons, and command and control.

    As I sit here watching “Connan the Barbarian” I can’t help but notice several social similarities. Most as a people’s likes to believe we have advanced and matured as a species. I beg to differ. I see know difference from the situations in Connan and today’s society. Less the brutal bloodshed, but even that is done in a much subtler way. Man is ego centric. Thats why socialism never worked. And capitalism did. Socialism promotes the good of the many, but as alway’s a tiny few much smarter people take control and usually kill the rest at one point or another. Capitalism promotes the individual, and yes greed is a major part of it. Greed does not go away with scocialism its just placed in the hands of a few who benefit from the many, capitalism puts greed in the hands of everyone. Everyone has an equal shot at making it. Its human nature to want to better your life, not someone you don’t know’s. Its just a fact. The battles we fight today are the same we fought a thousand years ago. Domination is a human instinct and until addressed it will never go away. Oh man, the big snakes owner is really gonna be pissed now.

Isn’t that the way of freedom loving nations? To stand by and watch as millions die when these deaths can be prevented or stopped by the use of the most powerful military in world history? Sure, let them use the weapons and kill 2 birds with one stone: use up the gases and kill off a few million muslims at the same time. Is that better? Is that what you would rather see?

    It doesn’t appear to be Sarin they were exposed to. Maybe the Chlorine. It looks like they have some type of chemical burning. Their clothing doesn’t appear to be burned.

      OMG. Seriously? Chlorine? What did they do, pick up the weapon, give it a kiss and put it back down? Notice only the face is damaged, and the hands are wrapped. Arms and neck look fine. Clothes are clean. Clearly bullcrap propaganda. Looks like wax to me………

    Up front this could be nothing more than propaganda by the rebels and Obama’s terror bands to try and affect world opinion in the matter.

    If this has been a usage of sarin, most would be dead in two minutes or less. Mustard gas on the other hand is a blister agent, and could account for some of the injuries I have heard of on other sites (again they are UNCONFIRMED stories, so I do have to, for now, state it could be pure propaganda as stated above in my post.)

      Defoliants used in Kennedy and Johnson’s war were a mother to be sure SOY? My brother who was drafted into ‘Nam a year and a half before me can personally vouch for that. Napalm was a cruel SOB and did more than cause blisters…

      But…. did we use these to kill the enemy, civilians or vegitation at the time? Not making excuse for defoliants in anyway (especially from what we now know)…

      But if you’re saying we used something along the lines of Mustard… explain yourself boy…

      Yes SOY… I should have seperated Napalm when talking about “chemical” defoliants, herbicides etc.

      Fire and the use of it in various ways and through various delivery systems as a weapon SOY is as old as warfare. But NOT considered a chemical weapon as would be Mustard… or Sarin… or VX… or Nerve or…

      Defoliants were not “intended” for use on humans, but as we “now” know… the effects and byproducts were catastrophic in many ways eh?

      I have no question that the Islamic terrorists/brotherhood used chemical weapons to get the world to favor them against assad. Maybe he should use the weapons on the rebels. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. assad can take out the enemy for us. The Muslim brotherhood takeover there the crusade will move into Russia and China. We can’t have that
