UPDATED: Angry Union Protesters Shout Down Tea Partiers in Mich. (and State Rep. Vows Violence)

Although it’s pretty much a sure thing that Michigan will pass right-to-work legislation that prohibits unions from collecting fees from nonunion workers, pro-union activists are turning out in droves to fight the bill with everything they have.

And things are starting to heat up.

For instance, the following video shows peaceful Tea Partiers on the State Capitol building steps getting shouted down by a handful of angry union demonstrators [via Breitbart]:

“Hundreds streamed into the state Capitol at 7:30 a.m. when the Michigan State Police opened its doors to protesters who had been standing in line as early as 5:30 a.m.,” the Detroit News reports.

The State Capitol building has attracted both supporters and opponents of the bill.

“I left at about 7 o’clock last night, and I haven’t been to bed yet,” pro-right-to-work Keith Almli, who drove all night to get to the state building, told the Detroit News.

Another pro-right-to-work supporter voiced his opinion.

“Why should a person be a slave to unions because he or she wants to work,” asked Don Peterson, 73, of Williamston, Mich. “People should have the right to work without having to pay union dues.”

Eddie Nyhus, on the other hand, fiercely opposed the legislation.

“Without the union, you’re nothing but a slave,” said Nyhus.

Shunya Cleveland sided with Nyhus

“I’ve supported the Detroit Federation of Teachers, UAW, Uniroyal and now AFSCME,” said Cleveland. “This is just wrong. Isn’t that our building up there in Lansing? Don’t we support it with our tax dollars? We are going to throw barricades around that building.

“I’m going to jail today!”

As the day has progressed, it seems that words have become more heated, and insults more pointed:

Oh, and then there’s this:

Yes, State Representative Douglas Geiss just threatened right-to-work supporters from the floor of the Michigan House of Representatives.

UPDATE – According to the multiple Twitter users, the following videos show a group of alleged pro-union activists tearing down what appears to be a tent owned by Americans for Prosperity, a group that supports right-to-work legislation [warning: coarse language]:

Here’s a photo of the remains of the AFP tent [via the Detroit Free Press' Kathy Gray]:

Finally the people are waking up that unions are no longer what they used to be….they are too political and in bed with Democrats, and see their power slowly slipping away….therefore the threats….One thing though, since when does Obammy have the right to stick his fat beak in, and get involved in a state issue? He is becoming more dictatorial each day, and is good at riling up his supporters when threatened. What tops this all off, most polls show that the people of Michigan want to be a right to work state. As for the teachers involved in the protests, fire them all. I’m sure there are qualified people who would gladly jump at the chance of a job these types so desparately take advantage of.

more like the states are getting the balls to stand up to the unions. When i worked for an auto parts manufacturer in Indiana I was amazed to learn they were a non-union shop. We had union workers from the other manufacturing plants in the area always calling or stopping by asking if we were hiring. They complained about how they felt their union was ripping them off. This law forces unions to actually start doing right by their members or lose money. you know most members would not pay those dues and fees if it were up to them.

Until Unions realize that they are partners WITH the companies they represent and not adversaries to the management of the companies, they will have a propensity to be cancerous to the companies.

Also, Unions need to have no paid staff beyond low level secretaries that keep the paperwork flowing properly. All management level Union workers need to get their paychecks like everyone else, from the company the Union is working with.

No “Multi-Company” Unions should be allowed. Pipe Fitters, Teamsters, etc. Those huge Unions are little more than an industry price-fixing methodology at this point. It kills competitiveness and capitalism. Of course, that’s why Unions are socialist in nature, they don’t actually want a level playing field based on merit and competition.

Under educated idiots is what lost us America. The progressives have been working on that strategy for decades and now they have made their harvest.

That is one thing I done get about Glen Beck followers and TheBlaze readers. In two days TheBlaze has reported about two real news stories. I see a big correlation between TheBlaze and Teachers Unions. Both are producing useful idiots by distracting its charges, and not informing them of the real news that matters.

When it comes to producing uneducated people on the conservative side Glenn Beck Blazes the trail and works at the head of the classroom.

Worst thing that ever happend to education and the taxpayer. $90,000 a year, massive pension, 20 sick days a year, carried over if not used, only work 8:00am – 3:00pm, more time off then the unemployed and yet, they still have the gall to call themselves “professionals” and are striking for more. Unions get quite testy when they have competition. What’s a matter big boys can’t handle the thought of people getting hired instead of you. If you are a good worker and not a slacker, you will have nothing to worry about. Also why do you care if someone else is hired at a less wage than you? It is not your concern. Mind your own business.

There was a time, in our past, where unions were needed – but that day has long been over. The Federal government has become the “nanny to the nation” and has laws, rules, taxes and Federal Courts that have made “big bad business” irrelevant. The trial lawyers and Federal Courts have made the days of “unfair labor practices” a mere memory. Now, ‘unfair labor practices’ only target those businesses and public jobs that are NOT part of a union. Every state needs to become a “right to work” state and public unions should be outlawed completely.

Ron Paul’s campaign was DOA — and it was Paul himself that killed it. He apparently over-estimated his popularity. He was popular in Texas’ 19th Congressional District (basically Galveston), but couldn’t duplicate that on a national level. Despite the continued claim by his supporters, he was NOT cheated out of the Republican nomination. If he could not convince enough conservatives to choose him in the primaries, what chance would he have had against Obama’s machine? While I grant that he had SOME valid ideas, his OVERALL message had only limited appeal to any but a cult-like base composed primarily of bat-crap crazy “all-or-nothing” idealists.

Union will have to compete to attrack members rather than forcing a political tax upon those who choose not to join. At the end of the day, unions know they cannot compete as bullying is all they have to offer. The failure to forcibly extract money from paychecks will make it difficult to buy as many politicians at the state and federal levels.

Good question?? When and Who WILL fire that first shot? I read on here all day long the land-locked-lubbers of The La Revolucionary Liberty and Freedom Movement calling for the first shot to be fired and get our country back to it’s revolucionary roots.

They certainly aren’t going to do it because they’re cowards by ideology They talk the talk but aren’t willing to do any of the heavy lifting. Oh, they state they’ll finish the fight once the fight starts…. hmmmmmm… right. They’ll be right behind the one’s they egg on for the fight.

      So who then… and when??
