New York Times Maureen Dowd: Mayans Were Right, 2012 Will Be the End of the GOP World

New York Times op-ed columnist Maureen Dowd recently wrote an article proclaiming that the Mayans were right when they predicted the end of the world in December 2012. She just added one modifier — it will be the end of the world of the Grand Old Party.

She creatively hypothesized:

The Mayans were right, as it turns out, when they predicted the world would end in 2012. It was just a select world: the G.O.P. universe of arrogant, uptight, entitled, bossy, retrogressive white guys.

Just another vanishing tribe that fought the cultural and demographic tides of history.

Someday, it will be the subject of a National Geographic special, or a Mel Gibson movie, where archaeologists piece together who the lost tribe was, where it came from, and what happened to it. The experts will sift through the ruins of the Reagan Presidential Library, Dick Cheney’s shotgun casings, Orca poll monitoring hieroglyphics, remnants of triumphal rants by Dick Morris on Fox News, faded photos of Clint Eastwood and an empty chair, and scraps of ancient tape in which a tall, stiff man, his name long forgotten, gnashes his teeth about the 47 percent of moochers and the “gifts” they got.

Instead of smallpox, plagues, drought and Conquistadors, the Republican decline will be traced to a stubborn refusal to adapt to a world where poor people and sick people and black people and brown people and female people and gay people count.

As the historian Will Durant observed, “A great civilization is not conquered from without until it has destroyed itself from within.” [Emphasis added]

Dowd proceeded to highlight the perceived flaws of Mitt Romney’s 2012 campaign, beginning with the fact that “awkward gazillionaire” Mitt Romney was even chosen as the nominee, to the party’s stance on social issues.

She then made a not-so-subtle “Republicans are racist” reference, comparing the Republican Party to the Confederacy:

As Eva Longoria supersedes Karl Rove as a power player, Republicans act as shellshocked as the Southern gentry overrun by Yankee carpetbaggers in “Gone with the Wind.” As the movie eulogized: “Here was the last ever to be seen of Knights and their Ladies Fair, of Master and of Slave. Look for it only in books, for it is no more than a dream remembered, a Civilization gone with the wind.”

Gun sales have burgeoned since the president’s re-election, with Black Friday weapons purchases setting records as the dead-enders rush to arm themselves. [Emphasis added]

And if they’re not finished in 2012, Dowd concludes with giddiness, history will recall 2016 as the year when Republicans were finally “wiped from the earth…when the relentless (and rested) Conquistadora Hillary marched in, General Bill on a horse behind her, and finished them off.”

Great civilizations die. The “so-called” experts point to war or famine. But the truth be told, every once great civilization died for precisely the same reason: one generation failed to properly raise the next. The ratio of creative, hard-working “Well Adjusted Individuals” shrank; the ratio of selfish, greedy, ungrateful and destructive “Spoiled Brats” grew.

The GOP *should* be extinct; it turned its back on its most basic principles. The GOP is now little more than “Democrat-Lite”. I’ll be voting for the real thing from now on. The sooner we collapse this corrupt system the sooner we can begin to rebuild what these idiots destroyed.

We’ll need a new Constitution with at least three new features:
- Any state can leave the Union at any time for any reason.
- The Federal government can never tax a citizen, only the states, and that rate can never, repeat NEVER exceed 5% GDP of the state. If they “need” more money then they can ask politely. Period.
- Citizens who receive more FEDERAL “assistance” than they contribute to the tax base *cannot vote* in FEDERAL elections. States, of course, can commit suicide if they wish.

  That “new constitution” you seek WILL come into being when Princess Pelosi slams that gavel in 2015 after the repubics get slaughtered in the 2014 elections. King Barry will have both houses and the courts….then there will be a new constitution with all of the nicities that the hipster’s, the OWS, the DNC and all of the foriegn occupiers to name a few will love. This is it folks, this is what it has come to and they (the communist, the libs, the moronic masses) WILL win. How can this drivel still be published in a newspaper that isnt passed out on street corners for free? I dont know where this narrative about old white guys hating their mothers, daughters, sisters, brown people, black people, and the poor of all colors comes from, but apparently Ms. Dowd is not paying attention what is happening in the States as Republicans capture more state houses and mayorships. The ascendency of progs is at its high water mark. It is all down hill from here.

  To see what you are talking about would require her to leave the Northeast Corridor. She won’t do that, because it’s SCARY out here. Flyover country is a terrible land full of gun toting nut jobs that drive cars and refuse to be packed into cities like rats. But worst of all, there is a land of ultimate terror, “The South. The only thing she wants from us is our tax money, otherwise we are supposed to keep our mouths shut and hail “The One”.
  As a transplant from the North, I hope she stays there and keeps dreaming. Her newspaper is barely alive and she thinks nothing is wrong, what a loser.

I noticed that all the Republicans were referred to as old white guys. Listen to the libtrash. They blame everything on whites. They are now even making references to wiping out whites. Killing white republicans is now alright. This regime has given the go-ahead to actively call for the destruction of white people,,,,especially industrious white people. Obama is a racist. Holder is a racist. Dowd and the NYtimes is racist and should be sued. They want us gone because then the little black races and brown races will fall right into line with the socialist giveaway system. Whites are too smart and too independent for the government to control completely. I have news for Dowd and the Times and the other liberal races; we whites are not leaving and we are not afraid.
