‘Pure Racism’: O’Reilly Fires Back at Fox Sports Columnist for Implying ‘I Am Some Kind of Slave Overlord’
While you may not have known the name Jason Whitlock before this month, chances are the name rings a bell. That’s because Whitlock is the FoxSports.com columnist quoted by Bob Costas last Sunday when Costas said that if Kansas City Chiefs player Jovan Belcher didn’t have a gun he and his girlfriend would still be alive. After that column, Whitlock also accused the NRA of being the new KKK. And that caught the attention of Fox News personality Bill O’Reilly. Now, the two are engaged in a war of words.
On Friday, Whitlock took some shots at O’Reilly, who Whitlock said had invited him on the show to defend his KKK remarks. Whitlock, however, wasn’t having any of it and infused racial references, implying O’Reilly was some type of overlord asking Whitlock to “dance” for him.
From his column (emphasis added):
This issue is so dead in this country that the flag-waving, right-wing entertainment media have to drag up a non-political, non-voting sports columnist and a talented sports broadcaster as their straw men to justify their phony outrage. I don’t think I’ll be called before the Senate to speak on any toothless gun-control legislation the NRA lobby lets slip through a crack.
But it appears I was summoned to testify before Speaker of The Big House Bill O’Reilly, the FOX News entertainer. O’Reilly is fixated on the mistake I made on the Tom Joyner show. O’Reilly spent part of his Tuesday show telling his viewers that I was afraid to come on “The Factor” and discuss my views on the NRA, the Second Amendment and gun culture.
I’m a grown-ass man and it’s 2012. I don’t have to shuffle off to the Big House when summoned. O’Reilly is not Boehner, Pelosi or Obama. He’s a TV entertainer who has spent the weeks after the election crying about the end of “white establishment” America, the end of the days when an upstanding white man felt entitled to summon whomever he wanted whenever he wanted to the Big House to dance.
I don’t dance.
Every cable TV network requested that I consent to an interview this week. I declined all invitations. Only Speaker of the Big House O’Reilly attacked me for exercising my constitutional right of freedom. It’s been a tough week for me personally, and I chose to control my message by using my platforms — column and podcast.
On his Monday show, O’Reilly fired back, first calling Whitlock’s KKK comparison “insane” and then going on to blast the personal attack.
“Now, that is pure racism — nothing else,” O’Reilly said regarding Whitlock’s column. “Whitlock implying that I am some kind of slave overlord, and he gets away with that kind of garbage. In fact, he gets paid to spout it. Way beyond disgraceful. That’s poison, but not unusual. Hate speech now happening all the time. There comes a point when all good people must say enough. That point has now been reached in America. The Jason Whitlocks of the world deserve pity, but they also deserve to be exposed. They’re using base emotion to try to injure people. They are liars, and they are abusing freedom of speech. This stuff has got to stop.”
You can watch O’Reilly’s response in his talking points below:
In CONTROL, Glenn Beck presents a passionate, fact-based case for guns that reveals why gun control isn’t really about controlling guns at all; it’s about controlling us. He will NEVER change his warped way of thinking because he looks for imaginary racism, and thats not too hard to find. An invitation is a summons to this imbecile. A gun is the only way Belcher could have possibly killed his girlfriend, according to this genius. Any way you look at it, Whitlock is an Alfred Sharpton style racist, you know what I mean.

The education of young men (and women) is so poor for black Americans in inner city schools, and yes I can say it, I have two daughters teaching there on opposite coasts, that their ” education” comes from people like him and the jerks on msnbc, or the simpson’s etc, after they get out of public schools. Posted on December 11, 2012 at 9:49pmWhat is the controversy? This guy said that if this football player didn’t have a gun, that both he and his girlfriend would still be alive? The football player could have killed his girlfriend with a hammer, and then he could have stabbed himself with a Chef’s knife in front of his coach. True. That’s could have happened. I think all this guy was saying is how very easy it is to kill somebody with a gun. Bang. No muss not fuss. Just pull the trigger.
Some people claim that if weren’t so easy to kill somebody – just a little pull of a trigger instead of having to to end their life by strangulation or by severing arteries – that fewer people would be murdered, as is the case in countries that ban guns.
I’m not taking positions here. But I do think he’s right as far as guns making it really easy, almost effortless in fact, and without a lot of personal involvement (as with hammers, knives etc.) to end someone’s life. In fact guns make it really easy to kill take your own life, other people’s lives or your children’s lives either deliberately or accidentally.
That’s all I’m saying. Guns make it really, really easy for a person’s life to end for whatever reason. So lot’s of people die from guns. I think that’s the guy’s point. Is that controversial?

Posted on December 12, 2012 at 5:45amNot for nothing, but O’Reilly assists the misinformation and REVISIONISM that lets these people spew this crap without backlash when O’Reilly takes the Al Sharpton side that the Constitution’s 3/5 clause called slaves 3/5 of a man when you can read it and clearly see that it does not! It says that 3/5 of persons not free would be counted as a deciding factor on how many representatives a state would have in the House. It meant that slave holding states would receive more representatives if all citizens were free and counted than not free and partially counted. It weaked the power of a state that had slaves. It was an incentive to free slaves. Bill sides with the propagandists and they do not give him respect. If you allow the misinformation to be placed on the Constitution, you do great damage by weakening people’s excitement to defend it.

Posted on December 12, 2012 at 8:55amThe AA hire Whitlock is earning money because of the push to get more blacks into journalism. Writing on a high school level doesn’t seem to matter either, as is usually the case in all AA slot-fillers.
And, of course, if he would really say something truthful, he would point out that….like the black leadership and rabid leftist demagogues….he doesn’t want blacks to have guns, because so many of them are connected with gangs, engaged in crime, and domestic violence.
We don’t have a gun problem in this country. We have a black problem, and it doesn’t just involve guns. They’re causing our school curriculum to be dumbed down to their level, so they won’t fall too far behind, and the leftist push to inject unqualified AA appointees into the medical profession is endangering the lives of many people. There will likely be more lives lost over this than guns.
These are the things this fat dork should be pointing out, but he won’t because it is only guns he perceives to be a threat to violent blacks and innocent people, and like blacks everywhere, he concerns himself only with blacks and all things affecting blacks.
But, there are so many like him, he’s just the usual black racist. Nothing really any different.

Though he had verbally push some fellow workers around he seemed to do a enough job, so I ask him why a guy like him was working a low paying job and if there wasn’t smothering he wanted to do instead. He told me that he could go to west point on a full ride due to his dad and brother both being west point Officers but that he disliked the military.
I asked if he wanted to go to college and he told me that if he went to college he would become a teacher but that as a teacher he could not teach what he wanted to because of “WHITEY” that whitey controlled everything and that he couldn’t do anything else due to “WHITEY’S” control over everything.
This was in Portland Oregon and very (real) racism didn’t really existed there.
There are many of these folks, like this poor fellow, out there brain washed by the Jeese Jackson’s and Al Sharpton’s to think that they dare not try anything because of WHITEY.

Maybe it is the way you write but the way you state your opinion about the blacks is you lump them all together. A quote from you.
“We have a black problem, and it doesn’t just involve guns. They’re causing our school curriculum to be dumbed down to their level”
you are saying that blacks are less intelegent then other races, maybe that’s not what you mean but it’s what you said.
I would agree with your statement that afirmative action does not reward the most desrving, I also agreee that there are many black people that are racisit and that they don’t face the same scrutiny for what the say. Jason Whitlock is a prime example of someone that because of his race has been able to make racisit comments but keep his job when others have been fired. But you go to far with your posts, you cross a line from debating policy to what I would consider just racisit comments..
Here is my debate I don’t think either Herman Cain or Allen West dumbed down our schools orconcerns themselves only with blacks and all things affecting blacks. Do you.
If you say no, I win the arguement because by your statement you would lump them into the same category. Again maybe you aren’t racisit maybe you just need to frame your arguments a little better by not using words like every and all when talking about race.

independent,
“you are saying that blacks are less intelegent then other races, maybe that’s not what you mean but it’s what you said. ”
I meant EXACTLY that. Black group average I.Q. in this country is 85, which is lower than any other race. (The Bell Curve, Murray/’Hernnstein, I.Q. and Wealth of Nations, Richard Lynn.)
Every I.Q. test in the last one hundred years….from any nation…show the same results. SAT scores and other tests have blacks in last place every time, with every other group outscoring them.
Google “black I.Q. scores and see what you get. In Africa the group average for blacks is about 70.
This isn’t my opinion but established fact.
Cain and West will be above the black norm obviously. But before you give them too much credit neither man is anything exceptional. Thomas Sowell IS an exceptional black man, however.
The black achievement gap has always existed. The curriculum HAS been dumbed down in an effort to allow blacks to catch up, but they can’t. If there is ever going to be an equality of outcomes, the curriculum will have to be reduced to the lowest common denominator, which are blacks.

Posted on December 11, 2012 at 12:28pmAgreed and the largest portion of the problem stems from the fact that the taxpayer funded school systems are not teaching the truth as the average “gun toting, Bible thumping slope-headed Neanderthal in flyover country”(as people in the Midwest are known by those oh, so intelligent people who work at the NYT). They pick and choose what is taught IF it fits the meme that they are trying to indoctrinate the young people. It starts right from kindergarten and gets increasing doctrinaire the higher you go in the education system. Some systems have eliminated teaching history before the Civil War because there is just so much to cover. Many school systems no longer have their students recite the Pledge on a daily basis, because it is offensive to some of the teachers. They have eliminated “Catcher in the Rye,” “The Scarlet Letter,” “Moby Dick,” etal and replaced them with their classics: “Rules for Radicals,” “An Inconvenient Truth,” etal. More and more, watching where our country is going is like watching “The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire” come to live.

Posted on December 11, 2012 at 10:17amJason Whitlock made his remark on the Tom Joyner Show. Joyner is an African American morning DJ with a largely African American audience. Whitlock has characterised his remark about the KKK a mistake. Why should he go on O’Reilly’s show? O’Reilly has an extensive and vivid history of abusing his staff and guests. He yells at people, he cuts of their microphones, he wags a finger in their face, he swears at them, his staff escourts guests out of the building because he threatened to beat them up in the hall if he saw them. Oh, and then there is the time he broke his umbrella on a video journalist who kept asking him the same question in an ambush interview. He then demanded that the man be arrested for bothering him and went on his show to whine about being accosted.
O’Reilly may not see his recent remarks as racist or whining, but from where I sit, it certainly appears that way. I know it’s a favorite talking point among Conservatives to say that anyone who dares mention “race” is the racist, while those acting in a demeaning and insulting manner towards racial groups are upholding races and being patriotic. The truth is, talking about race doesn’t make anyone a racist any more than talking about rape makes one a rapist. If a child were report being molested, imagine the pedophile sitting there saying that the child was at fault and the aggressor and he was merely the innocent victim. Reporting pedophilia doesn’t make one a pedophile, either.

True, a person is not considered a rapist for discussing rape, but people like Sharpton, Jackson, and yes, even Obama are considered racists because they see the world through colored glasses.
Take this quote, for example:
“I’m a grown-ass man and it’s 2012. I don’t have to shuffle off to the Big House when summoned…crying about the end of “white establishment” America, the end of the days when an upstanding white man felt entitled to summon whomever he wanted whenever he wanted to the Big House to dance.”

He was up against the most popular radio show in KC and was getting beaten in the ratings. He threw a fit on the air, I was listening that day by chance, he went off for over an hour with no commercial and when they did go to commercials and come back he was gone. He’s been to ESPN and Fox Sports.
He’s just a sports guy that wants to comment on everything else, but he has no idea how to be controversial without going too far to one side or the other. He’ll comment on something that angers one side and has the other side cheer him on, then he’ll comment on something else that has the other side cheering for him now and angering the other side that was cheering for him.
He can’t and won’t ever break into the mainstream. Except for his 15 minutes here and there.

As usual with other elements of FS program, the concept of racism was to foster a division and emasculate the group (Europeans) associated with the success of capitalism vs other groups that were thought more amenable to collectivist ideas.
Of course, needless to say, the ideas that were propagated by FS came originally from Moscow as a part of the Активные мероприятия (Active Measures). That being said, many items on the Активные мероприятия menu were strictly designed for western consumption. Beside the new concept of racism, also prominently figured feminism, promotion of homosexuality, along with any other forms of fostering divisions in the society, like class warfare that was bread and butter of Kremlin’s ideologues.

Posted on December 11, 2012 at 9:43amIt is what it is.
O’Reilly called out this guy and Jamie Foxx last night and says he will keep doing this.
I applaud Bill for standing his ground and telling it the way that it is.
I have no use for racists no matter what the color.
This fat a$$ is a black David Duke and should be held accountable just as Jamie Foxx should be boycotted by all good people for his comment.
What’s good for the goose is good for the gander.

Posted on December 11, 2012 at 10:17amOLD: What concerns me is that the Chicago radicals are using Obama’s bi-racialness ( focusing on the black part only ! ) to stir up a race war. Remember old Manson, Ayers’ contemporary , in the 60s ? Race has always been America’s weakest area. The ” anti-capitalists ” ( wink, wink ) have always known that.

Possibly
However we still have the responsibility to try as hard as we can to keep it together. If a person has a good heart they can usually see right through the BS. Faith in god instead of man sure helps too.
We will see.

Posted on December 11, 2012 at 9:37amThe NRA has nothing to do with the culture surrounding the Belcher shooting. That culture is BLACK GUN CULTURE, not law abiding Second Amendment culture. Until someone has the guts to stand up and point criticism where it belongs, any debate is pointless.

Posted on December 11, 2012 at 9:34amCertain people are allowed to say certain things because they are born into a protected class. Only those born with a deficit of melatonin and coming from a varied line of European stock can make statements that are allowed to be labeled as racist. This is the new America. O’Reilly will likely be the last to see this. In the new America you have rights that are gifted to you by the State, not natural law. You have second amendment “rights” because the State has yet to get around to removing them. Don’t worry, the high priests of the State are working on removing them, the mechanisms just operate slowly.

Posted on December 11, 2012 at 10:20amThey are only allowed to say these things when others are to weak and scared to expose them for what they are. Most people will not pay the social price for speaking out boldly against dishonesty. And by that decision, have themselves have decided to be just as disgusting as those they privately disdain.
These people have made themselves slaves to public emotion.

Posted on December 11, 2012 at 3:15pmActually, the people who I’ve seen act the most racist toward blacks are Mexicans (as in actual from Mexico, not just every brown person who speaks Spanish). The three way crap fest of “brown on black on white,” isn’t just something you see in the prison system, it is starting to show up in a lot of places.

Posted on December 11, 2012 at 9:20amIt’s obvious who the racist is Mr. Whitlock. Further, you’re spineless, just like all liberals when taken to task on your insane way of thinking. You hide behind your precious 1st amendment, but how do you plan to keep it without the 2nd amendment? The NRA is the best friend we have in keeping a tyranical government at bay. But I’m sure, you find that racist too.

Posted on December 11, 2012 at 9:27amBS, I’m 56 years old and have heard of this only happening 1-2 times in my whole life. The times it did was at rallies and not in black people’s yards. Black people are the racists now and are getting away with it, from Jamie Foxx to Jason Whitlock to your homey the POTUS and his minions like Van Jones, Louis Farrakhan, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and Jeremiah Wright. Blacks are under some hallucinogenic fairytale if they think white folks will keep taking it. They have also infuriated the Latin and Asian communities badly. It is ironic the two biggest crybabies in the world, Islam and the black race are constantly being patronized to keep them from crying. They are the most violent, insensitive and “ignorant” of the world’s population also.

That’s funny, I was born and raised in the deep south and I never saw any such thing.
If I had been in some place like Pennsylvania where the KKK is more concentrated, I may have seen or heard of such an incident. I don’t know.

Posted on December 11, 2012 at 9:43amI also live in the South and in the 24 hour news cycle of “Racism sells”.
I challange your statement regarding the KKK burning crosses in ANYONE’s yards. The leftist liberal racist MSM would be all over it, providing 24 hour coverage on it for months on end.
BUT, that’s what a Racist Pig Low Information Voter would lie about, in an attempt to paint everyone who disagrees with them as Racist.
95% of ALL RACISM is rooted in the Black community. The younger the black child, the more Racist they are, because that is what is being taught by the adults, teachers, ministers in their lives.
Until the Black community stops pushing/promoting/preaching/allowing Racism to be taught to their young, it will never stop, period.
Live and Let Live, I don’t care what the color of your skin is, never have and never will, but I can’t ignore what I see everyday in our cities/communities. I have even stopped going to our County Fair, because of all the shootings/stabbings/fights involving the Black youth. It is not safe to take my grandchildren too, so they have to suffer, because the Black Ministers promote and endorse the violence among their youth.

Posted on December 11, 2012 at 10:07amdynaflow1, I have a hard time believing what you say, unless you are in your 90s or so. I’ve lived in the deep South my whole life, and I’m in my 60s, and I’ve never seen anything like that. I’ve heard racists, for sure, but usually they are ignored and shunned.
What I have seen is lots of tax money and good people give to help make up for past racism in the form of entitlements, welfare, educational “front of the line”, and the like. And where has that gotten us? Unfortunately Whitlock and his kind have been RAISED in an atmosphere of hate and jealousy and racism. Instead of celebrating where he’s gotten, he continues to feel hate and jealousy and racism. There’s nothing anyone can do to change his core beliefs.
I say we all stop trying to balance the scales. They are balanced and if some don’t choose to step up, that’s there loss.
