Steven Crowder, Man Punched at Union Protest, Challenges Attacker: ‘He Can Go to Jail’ or Fight Me in ‘Sanctioned Bout for Charity’
Steven Crowder
During a union-led protest over Michigan’s now-enacted right-to-work law, Fox News contributor Steven Crowder was attacked and even punched in the face by unruly union members. The entire ordeal was captured on camera by Crowder’s crew and it appears to show an open-and-shut case of felony assault.
However, being the understanding man that he is, Crowder is offering his attacker a way to stay out of jail and keep a felony off his record. And it is unconventional, to say the least. He says he won’t press charges, but he wants a “one-on-one” with the man who sucker punched him.
“He can go to jail, or compete with me in a sanctioned bout for charity,” Crowder told TheBlaze, adding that he is completely “serious.”
While it may seem like an easy choice for the union activist, he should keep in mind when making his decision that Crowder is schooled in both mixed martial arts and wrestling.
“I’m talking about lock us in a racquetball court for a whole sanctioned mixed martial arts bout, or boxing bout, or wrestling bout – whatever he wants,” Crowder told TheBlaze. “He can name the terms and I will face him one-on-one if he wants to avoid prison.”
Something tells me that is a fight that a lot of people would pay to see. No word yet from his attacker.
Meanwhile, an anonymous donor is reportedly offering $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the union member who struck Crowder, while Glenn Reynolds, a.k.a. Instapundit has offered another $1,000 and Dana Loesch another $200. The donation page can be found here.
“If he wins, the money raised to find him will go to the union of his choice,” Crowder added.

Absolutely…but, you should never underestimate someone because of age…for instance a 45 year-old Sergeant Major from the Ranger Battalions might change your mind. Or the 50 year-old retired Marine Master Guns…or even the aging police officer, the military and a lot of LE agencies are training in MMA, Krav Maga, etc. You might bite off more than you can chew and a willingness to fight does not equate to the ability or willingness to win. Lot’s of folks talk s**t, but few can produce when they are in the grease.

I worked for that organization for 4 years and was confronted and not so subtly threatened by the union steward and one of the “bigger” union members when I was advised to join the union. For a college student it was quite an eye opening experience.

However, a company match on 401k helps and planning ahead and saving for retirement is what everyone should do union pension or not.

The union thug who threw the first punch is the idiot. Steven Crowder is giving him a way to stay out of prison. I wouldn’t call him an idiot for that. The union thug had balls when his buddies were with him but let’s wait and see if his balls are of the thin glass kind or if he will back up his punch and meet in the ring one on one. If he wins then he has bragging rights and doesn’t go to prison. If Steven wins he has no bragging rights, gets his a$$ kicked and stays out of prison. So it’s pretty much a win-win for the thug either way. He stays out of prison.

It seems like you are saying that the “noble” one in all of this is the union thug and Steven is an idiot for challenging an “old” man. We will never see it though because this union guy is a gutless TUR@. I know the type. If he had any guts, he would have made something of himself and stood on his own two feet like I and many other Americans have done. Yes, I worked a union job when I was young, and saw first hand a lack of productivity and a tremendous sense of entitlement from people who had done nothing to educate themselves or learn skills that could make themselves more marketable and prosperous. There were good solid hardworking responsible folks there as well, but sadly they were the minority. I chose to try and make myself a better product by furthering my education which was a risk and a sacrifice and it was tough. I am far better off now, and can rely on myself. This union guy is fighting because he is afraid to stand on his own in life because he knows he has nothing to offer. He will also be too afraid to stand on his own against crowder.

Initially I took The Blaze’s VERY minimal reference to his training with a big grain of salt. With people who market themselves as ‘comedians’ it’s hard to know when the jokes stop and the truth begins sometimes…..so if he’s truly skilled in these disciplines then I agree….let the match begin! ;-)
