QE4-Ever: Fed Announces 4th Round of Quantitative Easing

The Federal Reserve on Wednesday announced that it will launch a fourth round of quantitative easing (“QE4”), this time committing $45 billion a month to the purchase of long-term Treasury securities.

You know what this means, right? It means that along with Washington’s open-ended $40 billion a month program to buy up mortgage backed securities (“QE3”), total monthly bond purchases by the Fed will amount to $85 billion.

Yes, that’s $85 billion a month.

This latest initiative by the Fed is designed to replace “Operation Twist,” a program designed to “twist” long-term rates lower relative to short-term rates, which is scheduled to expire at the end of the year.

But here’s where it gets really interesting [emphasis added]:

In particular, the Committee decided to keep the target range for the federal funds rate at 0 to 1/4 percent and currently anticipates that this exceptionally low range for the federal funds rate will be appropriate at least as long as the unemployment rate remains above 6-1/2 percent, inflation between one and two years ahead is projected to be no more than a half percentage point above the Committee’s 2 percent longer-run goal, and longer-term inflation expectations continue to be well anchored. The Committee views these thresholds as consistent with its earlier date-based guidance. In determining how long to maintain a highly accommodative stance of monetary policy.

Get that? There’s no calendar date set for when the Fed plans on calling it quits. They’re going to keep rates low and keep purchasing bonds until unemployment hits 6.5 percent.

That’s why we’re going to call it “QE4-Ever.”

“Bernanke’s biggest surprise came in terms of the Fed’s forward guidance. The [Federal Open Market Committee] moved from a calendar-based guidance to one tied to economic factors,” writes Agustino Fontevecchia for Forbes.

“While QE4 was widely expected, the Fed’s move to a new type of guidance came as a surprise,” he adds.

Leave the government alone! They are preparing for a point in time (aout 2 years) when we all will need a wheeborrow filled up with money to get a loaf of bread. I understand that they will also outlaw gold & silver. On the black market you will be able to barter with food, guns, ammo , gold & silver.

Yes you are right but what is the MOST IMPORTANT THING is that we are BUYING OUR OWN DEBT and then others can borrow from us at 0% interest!
They are INTENTIONALLY destroying the American economy. To what end I don’t know but this is deliberate!
It is UNTHINKABLE that a person or nation should be allowed to buy it’s own debt! Did you guys know that we already “own” more American debt then CHINA?!?!
They are also destroying the global banking system at the same time.
The ONLY safe place to invest your money with a guaranteed future return is in food (not purchased with a card but cash) and liquor. These things will be worth more to you and your family then a million dollars in a 401k. I am willing to bet that places like food ins. will have to tell the govt. who has food and how much and they will some day take it to redistribute it. Stock up but if I were you I would pay cash not check or card for it. You guys can call me the tin foil hat guy but I don’t see how this can end differently at this point. The global financial crash is now unavoidable. The math is clear we are too far gone for things as they are to get better.

“Behind the ostensible government sits enthroned an INVISIBLE GOVERNMENT owing no allegiance and acknowledging no responsibility to the people. To destroy this INVISIBLE GOVERNMENT, to befoul the unholy alliance between corrupt business and corrupt politics is the first task of the statesmanship of today.”
      -Theodore Roosevelt

Very interesting. Now here is mention of this again:

“This [Federal Reserve Act] establishes the most gigantic trust on earth. When the President Wilson signs this bill, the INVISIBLE GOVERNMENT of the monetary power will be legalized….the worst legislative crime of the ages is perpetrated by this banking and currency bill. From now on, depressions will be scientifically created.”
      – Charles A. Lindbergh, Sr

There is mention of the “Invisible Gov’t” again.

      Check this:

“The real truth of the matter is that a financial element in the large centers has owned the government since the days of Andrew Jackson.”
      – Franklin D. Roosevelt

      Financial Element.

      Check this:

“The Federal Reserve is one of the most corrupt institutions the world has ever seen. There is not a man within the sound of my voice who does not know that this Nation is run by the international bankers.”
      – Congressman Louis T. McFadden

These quotes are just the tip of the iceberg of the hints people have given us, as to what is going on.

Only in America, could the government collect more tax dollars from the people than any nation in recorded history, still spend a Trillion dollars more than it has per year – for total spending of $7-Million PER MINUTE, and complain that it doesn’t have nearly enough money.

Only in America, could the rich people – who pay 86% of all income taxes – be accused of not paying their “fair share” by people who don’t pay any income taxes at all.

Where to start. (1) We are now told we will have to live this sham economy right through Obama’s next four years.(2) If you would have ever told me years ago that our United States economy would be so weak it would need 6.5 billion a month in food assistance I would have never believed it. Today were there. (3) Ever ask yourself how much would you charge in interest to lend to a broke country like the US if they came and directly wanted to bower from you. Wouldn’t you today look for like 15 – 20% or more. Seeing as there is no Government financial accountability. (4) this was a really clever way for the JP Morgans and Goldmans to retrieve their 5 trillion in losses to mortgage diriatives. And in turn one day down the road look for that 15% on the 5 trillion they will have printed for themselves.

They’ll care at the point that they can no longer feed themselves. Which, given inflation because of this mindless, slavish adherence to a discredited economic theory called Keynesian economics, will come soon enough I’m afraid. But by then it is too late. Not to worry though, they’ll be able to feed themselves with the vast, large valuable tracts of sneers, jeers, snarls and insults that the Left has plowed and planted for them in order to bring them to that state.

Fubared, the point was factual. Hitler opposed the communists. Hitler loved his nation. He was a ‘national’ socialist, evil, but nationalistic. Communists are ‘international’ socialists. They respect no borders. Nations are states in their one world scheme. This is no small difference. Ignorance is killing us. And, since you brought it up, Zionists are also national socialists. That, and their ethnocentrism, is why they partnered so easily with Hitler’s Nazis.

Look. None of this is a secret. Churchill wrote about this last century. He was a world leader. He was in a postilion to know. Stay ignorant if you choose. That is your free choice. For those who care, here are Churchill’s words.

Progressives, liberals, left-wing people of today are not national socialists. They are international socialists. They respect no borders. Our left-wing has no respect for America. Their words do not match their actions. They are not nationalistic. They are inter-nationalistic, communistic. This is no small difference. This is a world movement, not a national movement. Silversmith, you represent exactly what I am talking about. They are not the same. National socialists believe that, what is ours, is ours, internationally. Nations are sovereign. Communists do not believe in national sovereignty.
France is a socialist nation, and has respected international borders; a sovereign nation. Communism sees France not as a sovereign, self-governing state, but rather as a non-nation state, in a one world community. Huge difference. Local verses international control.

The core is the semi-incorrect issue. The problem with any form of socialism is control; how it is distributed is irrelevant. “Give me control of a nation’s money and I care not who makes it’s laws” — Mayer Rothschild.
It’s another chapter in the Jewish cabal. Uncanny that Jews are 1.3% of our population, but 100% of the Fed Chairs in my lifetime.”

Again, nobody was talking about your nemesis, but you interjected your racism, just because.
Now about the flight of the nazi butterfly dance you practice in jackboots; ever endeavor and all. Give me a wanna be nazi and I will point you to jihad jerk. Fubared, and that you can quoted til your little nazi heart explodes. Lalalalalalala.

Obviously the creation of money AND deficit spending is inflationary. We are already dealing with pretty hefty inflation (you realize CPI excludes energy and food and completely distorts housing costs). Shadowstats is probably the best at showing real inflation metrics. Anyway, the big time inflation happens when interest rates rise. When demand for US debt goes kaput and the fed is digitizing 100% of the FOMC auctions then all of the money that would have come out of circulation does not. Interest rates will rise, not by the fed, but due to market forces. For example, look at the auctions in Spain and Italy and Greece. The are scared to death that rates will break loose. Anyways, when rates go up, the banks will then be enticed to lend the massive amount of reserves that they are sitting on. THAT is when the fun starts. The magic of fractional reserve banking will yield the parabolic exponential curve of inflation. It will be a marvelous sight to behold.

$85 billion a month is…About $1 trillion per year…..Which means the federal government is financing almost the entire annual budget deficit with federal reserve money. Which means the federal reserve is keeping Obama afloat….

The Ron Paul folks are dead serious about the federal reserve. But we are/were called crazy people. Is it starting to click with many of you that we were the only ones with real ideas that would pull the rug out from under this tyrant? What good is it to talk about food stamps, Benghazi, or gay marriage if you have a system that allows a president to print this kind of money???

No kidding. I’m no Paul guy, although I voted for him in the primary, one of the reasons being a type of “protest” vote.

The classic thing about the Paul bashers is that claim to love him, but then need to find that one deal-breaker, that in the grand scheme of things, doesn’t amount to a hill of beans, like cutting back on the military (EVERYTHING NEEDS TO BE CUT UNLESS YOU’RE AN IDIOT!). I liken it to something I heard somebody say one time that really floored me for its idiocy……..

“I was going to buy that truck. It had everything I wanted, ample power, creature comforts, 4WD, great price……..but that glovebox – (oh, that deal-breaking glovebox)……..I just didn’t like the way it opened and closed.”

The problem Hauschild with the anti-Ron Paul people is that they are cowards. These people are so afraid of the world they sit in their closets shaking in the boots believing some big bad meanie will come in and take the cheerios. They are as much a product of the progressive school system as the flaming liberals, they just don’t know it.

Americans need to stop being so afraid of everything. We are so bombarded by meanies and news sensationalism we live in constant fear. We need to go back to the days where Americans (not America) was the bad ass on the block. And I don’t mean gangs or hoodlum bad asses, but John Wayne, Frederick Douglas, George Patton bad asses. None of the enemies we face fear our government. In fact they laugh at our government much the way so many Americans laugh and loath Congress and the TSA. Yet we the Americans fear our government. We need to change that. When the people fear their government, you have tyranny. When the government fears it’s citizens you have liberty. This goes worldwide, not just in the USA. Our enemies will start fearing America when Americans stand up and put our government in it’s place. It’s We The People… not “them the masters.”

You build a dam to stop the flooding, they tell you that the flood gates have to be opened so that the dam won’t break. Then they leave the floodgates open all the way. The end result is the same thing, the town down river is wiped out by flooding, the only difference is that it happens slower.

More easing will lead to a better economy than we expected. QE3 has helped and QE4 will help us further grow the economy and bring the unemployment rate down further. The good news is that there is not much of an inflation (2%).

In other words, Fed will succeed in boosting the economy with little impact to inflation.

Translation: nobody else is purchasing all that counterfeit money anymore.

However, if nobody else is buying it, then interest rates will begin rising…..increasing borrowing costs…..triggering a recession…

In other words, Bernanke isn’t buying that junk because he wants to…..he’s buying it because he has to….

It’s much better to waste your vote on a guy of whom the best that can be said is “well, at least he isn’t a Communist”.

For those who would continue with the outdated and antiquated rants about the fed and the weakening of the dollar understand what is really going on globally. As a cooperative member of the World banking system the US has to weaken the dollar in sync with the European Union and Japan. As a result the relative valuation of the currencies remain the same. As a result so do relative interest rates and inflation.

Money that it has printed out of the ether. Which devalues the dollars in our pocket by the percentage that amount represents to the money supply already in circulation. Which is called inflation of the currency, for those in the know.

And people gasp when I say paying taxes is nigh immoral in the current day and age. As if somehow we had a moral obligation to continue to play in this highly rigged game meant to fleece us of money, liberty and will.
