Is ‘Desperate’ Syria Now Firing Scud Missiles at Rebels?
KABUL, Afghanistan (TheBlaze/AP) — Syrian government forces have fired Scud missiles at insurgents in recent days, escalating the 2-year-old conflict against rebels seeking to overthrow the regime, U.S. officials said Wednesday.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, two officials said forces of President Bashar Assad have fired the missiles from the Damascus area into northern Syria. These officials asked not to be named because they weren’t authorized to discuss the matter publicly.
News of the missiles came on the same day that more than 100 countries, including the United States, recognized a new Syrian opposition coalition. That has further isolated Assad’s regime and opened a way for greater humanitarian assistance to the forces battling to oust him.
One official said there was no indication that chemical weapons were aboard the missiles. Officials have also said over the past week that they feared rebel advances were prompting Assad to consider using chemical weapons.
This official estimated that the number of Scuds fired was more than a half dozen, confirming details first reported by The New York Times.
State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said Assad has fired missiles, but wouldn’t specify what kind.
“As the regime becomes more and more desperate, we see it resorting to increased lethality and more vicious weapons moving forward and we have in recent days seen missiles deployed,” she said.
White House press secretary Jay Carney, speaking to reporters, said he could not confirm the report, but said if true it would be a sign of desperation.
“The idea that the Syrian regime would launch missiles, within its borders, at its own people, is stunning, desperate and a completely disproportionate military escalation,” Carney said.
The new development happened as officials planned an international conference to further assist opposition to Assad.
“This is the usual pattern of behavior that whenever there is an important decision that is anti-Assad taken by the international community, the Assad regime escalates the degree of violence to show its degree of displeasure,” said Murhaf Jouejati, a specialist on Syrian affairs at the National Defense University. “Like saying, ‘Oh, yeah? I’ll show you!’ ”

Posted on December 14, 2012 at 7:09pmChemical weapons, scud missiles. Sounds like those missing weapons of mass destruction that Iraq had. Iraq borders Syria and a lot of movement was seen across the border when the U.S. troops went into Iraq. Hmmm?

Posted on December 13, 2012 at 12:24pmBlaze, please do a little investigating…find one person in Syria, a true Syrian patriot to tell the truth of what it is happening. The “rebels” is Al-Queda (The Base) or All-USAMercenaries that are in Syria to create chaos, frighten the population and to set up cameras blaming Assad. In another words: false flag to get Syria’s control.
Those videos with people wearing burn bandages on their faces have nothing to do with chemical weapons. The chemical that they would use do not burn skin, it acts on the brain, leaves no marks. Like what happened to the bunnies on that video everyone saw it. These videos that come have no date, no way to know what it is. But as the people believe in everything they see on the news as it has been true….

Obama would be shooting missals at TEA if they were millions protesting all over the nation. If Obama thought Texas was ready to secede, he would be ordering the USAF to start loading bombers with tactical nuclear weapons and Congress would cheer him on. All Governments are evil if not a necessary evil evil just the same.

Posted on December 13, 2012 at 2:03amIt seems pretty clear that NATO and Mr Obama (peace be upon him) have decided to change this regime.
That facts are irrelevent except where they can be twisted to suit the scenario, and those that recognise the truth are contemptuously ignored.
The mainstream media supports Mr Obama and they are simply glossing over reality to his benefit.
Prior to joining the Blaze, I did precious little research of my own and pretty much swallowed whatever was served up on the television. I am still shocked to this day to see the cynical manipulation employed by our elected representatives and their media supporters.
I encourage everyone that I know to spend more time on the internet, but I’m dismayed by how few people really care, and are ready to tell me so to my face.
Even on this site, which is frequented by obviously knowledgable and inquisitive people, the level of interest in these stories is noticably lower than, say, in the car-driving dog…

Posted on December 13, 2012 at 3:11amIndeed, it is no shock that NATO and Obama have concluded Assad needs to go, just as with Libya, Egypt and soon to be in Jordan. Blatant manipulation of information and details by the political leaders and the national media are aiding that task, and literally the truth does not matter.
Ultimately what we are seeing here is a three way power play by the regional forces of Iran, Saudi Arabia and the Muslim Brotherhood and their radical allies.
The Muslim Brotherhood desires the return of the Caliphate and the annihilation of Israel before they seek the final destruction of the United States. They are aided by Obama for the reason he sees Israel as a ‘mistake’ forced on the region by the British and America.
The clash between Iran and Saudi Arabia is fairly simple: to become the dominate regional power based of religion, oil-reserves, political power and prestige and ability to be a key player in world events. When Iran gains a functional nuclear device, all will change instantly in the region. They will then become the dominate regional power.
Also, the leader of Iran is a follower of the Imadi, and seeks a sea of blood to ‘force the return of the Imadi and usher in the age of Islam.” He is a lunatic with a vision many orders worse than Hitler.

Here is a link to a radio show called the Jim Bohanan show in which they had a guest for Wed, Dec 12 in the first hour who is a middle east expert going into much more detail about the Muslim Brotherhood and some of Obama’s support for them and the terrorists in the region, along with Iran and so forth.
Mind you, the guest, a Mr Stocks, says Obama ‘is mistaken in his support for them as he (obama) sees them as a counter-balance against Iran”
I doubt Obama is ‘mistaken’ in his support, Obama knows fully what he is doing.
Anyhow here is the link, check the archive section for May 12, 2012 show and again it is in the first hour of the broadcast.

lol – but are they really ‘it’s own people?’
Assad will not attack Israel, they are not buddy buddy friends, but Assad did not want to join the muslim brotherhood to attack Israel from the north by way of Jordan/Syria etc – so they must remove him anyway they can so the NWO plan can succeed.
Saddam’s WMD were taken to Syria before UN inspectors got to Iraq
PROOF HERE
http://news.investors.com/ibd-editorials/121012-636561-obama-moves-syria-chemical-weapons-red-line.htm?p=full
Former Gen. Georges Sada, who served as No. 2 in the Iraqi Air Force under Saddam Hussein before he defected, wrote a comprehensive book in 2006 titled “Saddam’s Secrets.” It detailed how the Iraqi Revolutionary Guard moved weapons of mass destruction into Syria before the U.S.-led action to eliminate Hussein’s WMD threat by loading the weapons into civilian aircraft in which the passenger seats were removed.
Sada, who was appointed as national security adviser by interim leader Iyad Allawi and who was privy to many state secrets, described the transport of the deadly weapons in an interview with the New York Sun shortly after the book was published and said the weapons were received in Syria by a cousin of none other than President Assad “who is known variously as General Abu Ali, Abu Himm

Posted on December 13, 2012 at 2:47amnow why wouldn’t Assad want to join the muslim brotherhood and attack Israel? he already has the chemical weapons, the manpower and would have the support of Russia and Iran!?
ask yourself the right questions – why is Russia/obama/iran etc ranting suddenly about missiles, chemical warheads and the like as being the ‘RED LINE’ to ‘invade’ the nation?
If the ‘rebels’ are the good guys fighting Syrian targets, how come most of the rebels are found to be IRANIAN REVOLUTIONARY GUARD members and not native Syrians? How come the same Iranian REVOLUTIONARY GUARD members are also found in Syrian Army uniforms? Even muslim SOMALIS were found posing as Syrians!
don’t forget this is all for SHOW – the NWO need Assad out hence the sudden use of saddam’s WMD [possibly] what better way to let the russians or american military ‘help’ end the carnage and put in a muslim brotherhood member to lead the Islamic charge against Israel to their south!

Posted on December 12, 2012 at 11:57pmIt’s almost comical that the UN, and Suzan Rice, think is it somehow OK to kick down a door and slaughter the family inside with gunfire, but it’s not OK to kill them with a scud missile. Murder is murder. Assad is using incendiary bombs and scud missiles. If I were to guess, I’d say the use of scuds with conventional warheads is a test to see if the international community steps in. Incendiary bombs cause fires and smoke and burn victims. His next step may be to fire WMDs on scuds into the areas with fires from incendiary bombs, where the smoke from the fires will mask the gas clouds.

Posted on December 12, 2012 at 10:42pmThe USA isn’t involved yet because Iran hasn’t reared its ugly head. The US lay still, waiting for provocation. Iran knows that losing Syria would hurt its hold over the region, but they can’t just rush in to save Assad, or it would give NATO the excuse it wants/needs to get their coveted UN green light to crush the Islamic Republics government and install a less theocratic and more socialistic government there.
America SHOULD just stay out. What are we going to do? Back Iran’s genocidal murderer or a leader, or back Islamic terrorists who mean to replace him? If we do get involved, it better not be that garbage we did in Libya. We need to go in, boots on the ground and rip out their infrastructure and take every valuable that isn’t anchored down (yea, I’m talking about looting the place). You know, fight it like a REAL war. The way we used to take care of business before WW2.

Although the meaning of this prophecy may not be well understood, it was said, February 19, 1971: “We have told you of the coming of the Anti-Christ and the Beast, and the beast from within. And even though thy should cut the Beast’s head, it shall heal its head from one of a greater. And then shall come the time that the ten nations that stood beside it shall join together in slaying the Beast forever.” [See The Revelation, chapters 13-18.]

Posted on December 13, 2012 at 1:14amThat’s a very likely scenario. It is very hard to determine which reports are real and which are not. There is a ton of evidence regarding false reports.
NATO and others are talking about potential gas attacks repeatedly when, by their own admission, there are none. This is pure propaganda designed to prepare their respective populations for invasion.
It seemed odd to me at first that Israel was supportive of the country being taken over by the MB/Saudi/Qatari forces, but it now seems that they think that the resultant government will be able to be controlled by the Americans and Saudis.
It seems to me (and I’m interpreting what I’ve learned) that they believe that they will be able to deal with the resultant governments under MB control, as these governments will in turn be controlled by the Saudis.
Firstly, the Saudis have amply demonstrated that they are only concerned with themselves,
and secondly, the Saudis and Qataris have used anti-semitism to control and distract their own people, just as the other Middle East nations have done – and, in fact, just as Hitler did.
It is like the frog which carried the scorpion across the stream because the scorpion promised not to sting it. On arriving safely at the other side, the scorpion stung the frog. When the dying frog plaintively asked the scorpion why it had stung when it had promised not to, the scorpion replied “that is my nature”.
And so it is with Islam…

The matter concerning Israel is fairly easy to explain: they are surrounded by a sea of enemies, and the fact Obama and Europe are unreliable allies at best (more likely downright hostile), they are trying to simply stay alive and intact as a nation.
Obama and many NATO nations are allied with or nearly controlled by Muslim Brotherhood allies and the rising tide of anti-Semite rage is rapidly growing as well; many people are beginning to use Israel as a scapegoat for their problems.
We are close to a regional war in the Middle East, which if ignited, can easily spread into a number of global wide regional war as energy reserves are disrupted and the world thus turned on its head.
One other matter, has anyone wondered why Soros and his Fabian’s have suddenly gone silent about the support they have provided to so many areas of the Middle East?

Genocide is a trumped up word liberals use whenever they want to criticize a group involved in conflict. Fact is just like animals that cease to exist, so do human groups. Adapt and overcome or disappear beneath the sands. If you read the bible, you know the Jews are just as guilty as every other group of human beings. Human tribes kill off other tribes all the time.
