NBC’s Andrea Mitchell Blames GOP on Rice’s Withdrawal From Sec of State Nomination: ‘A Woman of Color Has Been Forced Out’
NBC’s Andrea Mitchell said Thursday that U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice’s pulling her name from consideration to become secretary of state “is not going to help the Republicans” after “a woman of color has been forced out.”
“I think this had become sort of an impossible challenge for her to be confirmed, that she realized that, the White House realized it as well,” Mitchell said on MSNBC’s “The Cycle.” “I think they know that they are on good, political solid ground, as you were just pointing out. This is not going to help Republicans at all, the fact that a woman and a woman of color has been forced out of a confirmation process even before she was nominated. She clearly was the president’s choice but I think what happened is it became untenable.”
Rice has come under harsh criticism in recent months, particularly from Republicans, over her initial comments calling the deadly terror assault on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya a response to an anti-Islam video posted online. It was subsequently labeled a terrorist attack.
Mitchell said critics had started looking into other aspects of Rice’s background as well, but she didn’t yet have the benefit of a solid group around her as she would if she were the nominee.
“She was on her own really and left hanging,” Mitchell said.

What he meant exactly we would have to get further details. If I were to criticize him it would be about CRA, derivatives & maybe what he said or didn’t say (but should have). But we would have to have more detail.
I’ve have read where Bernanke did the right thing with the 1st Quantitative easing. But every easing since them had been a mistake. Certainly Zero Hedge.com has shown via stock market average that each QE since then has had less effect & has been shorter duration. So in the short term Bernanke did what was needful (QE1). unfortunately Congress passed TARP & Obama has unleashed the regulatory Carol Browner dogs of the world, borrowed more than 40% of every dollar spent, grew government & talked crap about everyone who works. Bernanke can’t fix that. He can’t even really paper over that.

I am not sure Benghazi operation of supplying the Syrian rebels should be an impeachable offense. The Boland amendment only restricted the CIA form funding the Contras to overthrow the Nicaraguan Communists (The leaders of which all ended up with haciendas & McMansions). So the Democrat Boland Amendment would not work. Not notifying congress of using the American military (& 60 day notice) would not work because it was maybe only the CIA that was used.
What is impeachable is the fact that they hid this from the American people & congress when it blew up & became known in order to protect their electoral chances. that is impeachable.
I don’t know that not protecting an Ambassador or giving him X amount of security is impeachable. But lying about it is. And Obama Team D definitely lied about it.
