House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) delivered an intriguing message on Wednesday, while addressing the nation’s ongoing debate over the so-called fiscal cliff. Making it clear that she isn’t happy about staying in town around the holidays, Pelosi seemingly accused her Congressional peers of having a lack of “appreciation” for Christmas, Hanukkah and – Kwanzaa.

“Why are we having all this subterfuge and this, that and the other thing? Why are we being told make a reservation on Christmas Eve and one on the day after Christmas to come back?,” Pelosi asked during a speech on the House floor. “Is there not an appreciation for the Jewish holidays? The Christmas holiday? Kwanzaa? All the other things that families come together around?”

The political leader followed these curiosities up by claiming that these holidays (she referred to them as “bonding rituals”) are important to strengthening American society. She subsequently appealed to her peers in Congress, asking, “Do we not care about that?” From there, her comments turned to the U.S. public, making an odd transition into individuals’ abilities to “shop” for the holidays.

“Well, the American people [care about it]. And they want to shop for it,” she said. “They want to have family dinners and they want to exchange gifts as is the tradition, but they really don’t know if they’re going to be able to pay the bill in January for the purchases in December.”

While Pelosi was purportedly using her holiday appeal to convince Republicans to raise taxes on higher-income Americans, her pleas apparently fell on deaf ears, as the debate forges on.

  We have major problems in this country and all she wants to do is party. Oh, that sounds just like what Obama wants to do. Oh, I get it now, she wants to be able to go to Hawaii and party with Barry.
  
  Shows all of us where their priorities are. Fiddle while Rome burns. Everybody should stay in D.C. and get some real solutions worked out. Otherwise, it won’t matter because we will end up looking like Greece around here.

  The Nancy Pelosi’s of this world are hardly the issue. She is a symptom of what we have become, a reflection of the people she represents. She is only doing and sayng the things that make the people she repesents happy. Do not mock her or belittle her for doing her job properly. She’s doing exactly what she is paid for.
  
  If you have a problem with Nancy Pelosi, then do something about educating the people she is working for. If you think she is a peacock feathered court jester, then look at the audience she is playing her toy matinee for. That is where you make the difference, not in mocking their spokespeople. Take your arguments to the streets, the coffeeshop, the town square. Nancy will go away when people recover some semblance of rational thought.

No one wants to run for office and have their family subjected to the ridicule of the press and the nastiness of these individuals. This is why we don’t have any intelligent individuals running for office.   The flaw in what you’re saying is that she didn’t notice that she was embarrassed. To be embarrassed is to know that you are by definition. That’s the problem. She has no clue in any way what so ever.
  
  The GOP doesn’t respect Kwanza because NOBODY celebrates it. Zero. Zilch. Nada. I live in the most diverse city in the United States, and as I drive around I see ZERO Kwanza anything. That’s because it’s not only a fake holiday, it’s a bogus holiday in that its fakeness pales in comparision to its non existance. It wasn’t a holiday 100 years ago, and it wasn’t really a holiday 10 years ago, not a year ago, not now. No other holiday is noted only for being not celebrated and only being mentioned when people are arguing about discrimination. Otherwise Kwanza doesn’t exist. I’ve never gone into a retail store and seen Kwanza decorations. I’ve never been corrected by anyone anywhere when I said Merry Christmas to them, that they don’t celebrate Christmas and do celebrate Kwanza. Never. Neither have any of you. Because Kwanza simply doesn’t actually exist outside a an extremely small band of people who insist that it does, but do nothing to prove its existance by actually doing anything about it, like celebrating Kwanza.
  
  On the other hand, what do the democrats do to celebrate this day? Are they going to give up their side of the arguement for the sake of…Kwanzaa?

It is a Black “feel-good” holiday meant to appeal to ignorant Blacks who feel disenfranchised by Christmas and Hanukah.

I understand why Piglosi is upset.
Every Christmas holiday she goes to Hawaii….from Newmax.

The California Democrat’s suite, which she has rented for the past two Christmases, goes for a whopping $10,000 a night. Pelosi has been escorted by local police during her two visits, at a cost of $34,000 to local taxpayers, the Reporter says.

I can’t watch the video, Nancy’s just to nutty to watch, plus she never makes any sense. However, I did read the article and she says everyone likes all these holidays, including Christmas. If that’s so, why are a bunch of atheist and ‘do gooders’ trying to get Christmas banned? Is it because they don’t want those who like it to have the luxury of enjoying it? The anti Christmas crowd have all kinds of anti Christmas commentary, then there are those who strike in the middle of the night looting, pillaging and burning Christmas displays. Anyway, Nancy’s just looking for time off for her own selfish reasons. She’s a atheist in Catholic’s clothing.

Everybody knows that “Kwanza” is a fake, invented holiday from the 1960′s meant to be a giveaway to raise ‘black pride’. I suspect that she’s sad that nobody is buying the ruse.

However when you dont do your job (pass a budget, bills etc) you dont deserve the time off.

Pelosi wants an excuse to permit as many Democrats as possible to miss the votes being taken on the fiscal cliff. That way it becomes easier to pin the disaster on Boehner and the Republicans.
