‘Real News:’ Obama Administration Enforces Regulation Held Back for Election

As President Obama approached re-election, critics suggest that the administration quietly tabled a number of regulations out of fear of giving the GOP something to point to in order to help paint Obama as a job killer. Now, in perhaps similar under-the-radar fashion, those previously tabled regulations are being rolled out. The Associated Press reports:

For months, federal agencies and the White House have sidetracked dozens of major regulations that cover everything from power plant pollution to workplace safety to a crackdown on Wall Street.

The rules had been largely put on hold during the presidential campaign as the White House sought to quiet Republican charges that President Barack Obama was an overzealous regulator who is killing U.S. jobs.

But since the election, the Obama administration has quietly reopened the regulations pipeline.

In recent weeks, the Environmental Protection Agency has proposed rules to update water quality guidelines for beaches and deal with runoff from logging roads. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, meanwhile, has proposed long-delayed regulations requiring auto makers to include event data recorders – better known as “black boxes” – in all new cars and light trucks beginning in 2014.

The administration also has initiated several rules to implement its health care overhaul, including a new fee to cushion the cost of covering people with pre-existing conditions.

Conservatives argue that the net effect of the regulation bomb is likely to be a higher cost of doing business, costs which are likely to be passed on to consumers and suppliers, making worse a painfully slow to recover economy. Matt Kibbe of FreedomWorks has been watching this issue closely, and joined ‘Real News’ Thursday to discuss:

When Americans finally start fighting each other in the streets the other countries who want what we have will invade America and then we’ll be in a big pickle. It’s sad that a large portion (metro areas) believe they are exempt from something like that ever happening and they will just keep texting, e-mailing, etc). This coming destruction of America will not just effect America. It will be global, and when it happens the entire world will be affected since America is the care-taker of the world. People of America. Stop believing it is just about us and only us will be fighting each other. There are others waiting in the wings to desroy us (U.S.)

  Absolutely let’s argue about clean water and air. That’s clearly the problem with the economy. But you right there is too much regulation and we should simplify it. A simple regulation that merely states that companies and citizens should be responsible for returning and/or maintaining air or water at the condition it was before they fouled it. There will be no recovery of our economy. The DoomsDay scenario is taking shape quickly now. Taxation and regulation will so cripple the nation that the agenda for creating a totally Marxist state will be a reality, I predict, before the next Presidential election. I don’t even think there will be another election, at least not in the sense of a free Constitutional election that America has always had.

That is just how far gone our nations and freedoms are. But I hope I am absolutely, totally wrong. I am going to Pray to God that I am wrong, although all the signs are pointing to me being on track. What a disaster for all the world, America’s collapse will be. When men and nations turn their back on God, their sin will be accounted for, and I believe that our national sins will require us to pay a heavy price. Read Galatian 6:7 and see the truth pointed out to those who sow evil.

No matter what people say with their mouths, the truth is, in this country, most people’s god is their money–not the one true God. That being said, I believe the ONLY thing that will get people’s attention is when each person is actually hit in their wallets. When people start feeling the pain in their wallets, then they will open their eyes and see what is happening.
My husband’s industry has been hit EXCEEDINGLY hard by EPA regulations; as a result, we have been squeezed financially since this President was first elected. We have felt the devastation of his progressive/communist policies. Until EVERY SINGLE PERSON feels this vice grip squeeze, people will not wake up. It’s coming–I’m just afraid it won’t come fast enough for people to really wake up.

  My dad worked for a non-union plant for 25 years and had it better than any union job he could have gotten. Every time the union came up for a vote, it was voted down. Why? Because they had it just as good as the union guys, without paying the dues. Unions these days are not about workers, they’re about how much money the bosses can make, and how they can launder it into the Democrat party. We have laws now that, when violated, get fixed. We don’t need unions. And Public Unions should be outright outlawed. Their boss is the government, are they going to say the governmen isn’t fair? Elect different representatives. That’ what we little people have to do.

  My dad worked as a union insulator at the local power plants for many years. He has since told stories of playing cards, drinking and smoking weed, paying the girls on the crew for favors and even taking turns clocking each other in and out when they wanted an unscheduled day off.
  At the same time he says without the unions the greedy companies will take advantage of the workers!

How can people sleep through all this without seeing the enemy destroying us? I am amazed at how many older white Americans support and believe in this abomination. These people were successful as well. They even strong Christians. We are being prodded into something unseen. The comments of jaimie foxx are being said to insult the non-Muslim Christian. They’re calling names, threats and acts of violence, saying that we’re divided in a way unseen since the civil war. Yet they only seem to continue pushing us more apart. They have invaded the church, Catholics open a social justice club. They seem to have invaded all the countries governing bodies they can, and alienating ones they cannot. i.e. Gods people of Israel. How can we ever defeat or overcome this? I have faith in God. I fear for my sons future. I don’t want him to suffer. It is maddening and sad how far we’ve came from the wisdom of our Founding Fathers’. They managed to silence these beliefs through mis-education and made people believe this thinking is outdated. Our Marines degraded even with the history they have proudly made. They seem to hate anything that promotes God Country or Corp together we stand and Moral value.

The EPA is the enemy of the common man, when they bulldoze your
house down because they don’t like the way raiwater runs off or put
you in jail because you have a pond the rainwater runs into or your electricity
is shut off because obutthead has shut down all the generating plants
that use coal, just remember this is AGENDA 21 being pushed by our common
enemy, the EPA.

I have read so many posts and just they are, I will refrain from attacking the rats following this Pied Piper into the river, but instead seek to organize, plan and prepare and advise others to do so. Let’s stay out of Obama’s river where many will drown and build concrete harbors to stage our steel ships from. Let the chips fall where they may, I will have contingency. Let’s revive an old tradition… We grab our guns, and tell the governing elite to go stick their taxes where the sun doesn’t shine. If we all stop paying the taxes, the elites will have no money to bankroll their bureaucratic jobs, and the regulations will cease. Sound like a plan?

  CLINGING: The problem with you plan is they wont run out of money, they ran out of money years ago, but keep borrowing and the Fed keeps printing, O wants to crash the economy, thus crashing the Dollar, then adopting a Global currency, (here’s where the UN steps in) then the real wealth redistribution starts from us to other “developing” Countries via the UN.   When I was a truck driver, I would always hear someone say that we should all park our trucks and bring the country to a standstill, to protest high fuel prices, regulation, whatever.
  
  The biggest problem with that is that for every person that parks his truck, there is a scab that will roll right in and grab the load.
  
  Same problem here. There are still too many that tow the party line… or already don’t pay any taxes and don’t care.

  Well right now they are borrowing 46 cents of every dollar they spend, most of it from the Federal Reserve’s magic money printing machine. What they don’t take in taxes they will eventually take via inflation.
