Wilkow and Guests Discuss New Candidate Pledge to Reduce Government Spending
The Coalition to Reduce Spending was founded earlier this year with the mission to research and advocate for reduced federal spending and a balanced budget. The fiscally conservative advocacy group is new in town, with a pledge of their own for candidates for public office:
I, ____________________, recognize that the national debt and unsustainable level of government spending pose a critical threat to the prosperity and security of the United States.
Therefore, I pledge to the citizens of my state and to the American people that, except when related to a congressional authorization of force, I will:
ONE, not vote for any budget that is not balanced nor for any appropriations bill that increases total spending; and
TWO, consider all spending open for reduction, and not vote to authorize or fund new programs without offsetting cuts in other programs; and
THREE, not vote to increase borrowing or the debt ceiling.
Signed: ____________________
The coalition president Jonathan Bydlak and board of advisors member Peter Schiff joined ‘Wilkow!’ Thursday to discuss the Fiscal Cliff, the scope of our long-term financial and entitlement problems, and how Republicans are neglecting the ability of the Federal Reserve and Treasury to borrow more and more to finance massive spending.

Posted on December 14, 2012 at 7:25amRather than be satisfied with a pledge, I think we should instead push for action, and reward that. Getting a politician to sign a pledge really isn’t that much reassurance. Getting that politician to actually do something, then reward them when it occurs, is much more effective. Regard politicians as dogs who pee on your carpet. That cute look they give you when you explain to them why they need to pee outside is not enough. You need the dog to actually pee outside.

Posted on December 13, 2012 at 8:55pmLOL – how silly is this pledge
The great thing about people like Ron Paul is that you dont need a pledge….BECAUSE THEY HAVE ALREADY DONE IT IN WASHINGTON. When you vote for people who have done the opposite or havent done it at all – what do you expect?

Posted on December 13, 2012 at 8:49pmLower all taxes and put Obama on a very short leash. The Republicans can do this, but will they? The whole country is behind this. And we do not hit people in the face like the Unions.
The only repercussions will be from the shriveling up bloated Democrats and their mob handlers (SEIU, AFL CIO, et all). Dry up their flow of my money and they will scream for just a while. It is time to put our feet down and stop the run away teenage President, take his cell phone away and make him stay at home and do some work for the next 4 years.
