Fox News host Geraldo Rivera said Friday that U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice’s “ship had sailed” on being nominated to become secretary of state once two moderate female senators “joined the angry old white men” determined to block her.

Rivera said Rice fell victim to Washington’s “attack culture” and wasn’t being properly defended by the Obama administration because she hadn’t been formally nominated yet.

“The coup de grace came when the two northeastern moderate Republicans, Susan Collins and Kelly Ayotte, joined the angry old white men, Graham and McCain, and then it couldn’t be a male-female issue against this poor beleaguered black woman,” Rivera said on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends.”

“You don’t believe that,” co-host Brian Kilmeade said.

Co-host Gretchen Carlson repeated, “angry old white men?”

“Speaking expansively and metaphorically and for effect here,” Rivera said. “But it became clear she couldn’t be the beleaguered damsel in distress, the poor embattled black ambassador.

He said Rice was “the minimum price to pay for the administration’s dissembling on the facts and circumstances on the Benghazi attacks.”

“In Washington you make minimum prices, she’s the sacrificial lamb,” Rivera said.

Rice came under harsh criticism and scrutiny, primarily from Republicans, over her initial explanation that the deadly terror assault on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya was in response to an anti-Islam video posted online. The attack, which killed four Americans, was later labeled a terrorist attack.

  Nominate Susan Rice, make her Ambassador. It wouldn’t matter if the Obama administration told the truth, (had let the tea leaves fall where they may). Biden would be president. It isn’t about control of the presidency. The Democrats would still have it. It is about the prestige of America. You damage that by not defending your people & a lot more Americans die in the near term if not longer. That is what is at stake.

  Mr Rivera never quite seems to hit the target squarely. He is right that Ms Rice is the sacrificial lamb, but the reason is wrong.
  
  The confirmation hearings before the senate would have put Benghazi right back on page one. That would have been bad enough as far as the adminstration’s culpability in the matter is concerned, but disastrous for their plans in Syria.
  
  Mr Obama and NATO are determined that President Assad must go and they will intervene directly if that is necessary to acheive the objective. They are presenting a pretty flimsy propaganda story to persuade western populations that this is necessary.
  
  The Benghazi tragedy is directly connected to the insurrection in Syria, and Ms Rice is directly connected to Benghazi.
  
  To allow Ms Rice to be grilled by the senate would likely pull a bottom card from beneath a very precariously structured house.

The idea that it’s automatically racist and sexist to criticize a black woman is insane, and this particular black woman appears to be part of a coverup that goes to the top of our government.

After Nixon’s crimes, the Republican Party were willing to do what was best for the nation and ask him to step down, and Nixon had the good grace to step down. The Democrat Party will do what’s best for their party and would never ask him to step down, and Obama would never step down for any reason.

Susan Collins and Kelly Ayotte are Esteemed Comrades of the Communist International. Comrade Kerry is better acquainted with them than is Comrade Rice. Gender and Race had nothing to do with the decision by these Esteemed Comrades. Comrade Kerry has always supported the plans and goals of the Communist International.
