Marine Double Amputee Ridiculed on Delta Flight Celebrates ’1 Year Alive Day’

Marine Corporal Christian Brown, a Double Amputee Ridiculed on Delta Flight Celebrates 1 Year Alive Day

On Thursday evening, TheBlaze brought readers the disturbing story of Marine Corporal Christian Brown, a proud warrior gravely wounded in Afghanistan who later suffered the indignation of being mistreated on a recent Delta Airlines flight from Atlanta to Washington, D.C.. The member of the 1st Battalion 6th Marines is a double amputee following injuries sustained from an IED — an improvised explosive device — on December 13th 2011 while conducting combat operations. He is still on the road to recovery.

Marking the one year anniversary of his miraculous survival, Brown’s Facebook support page is active and filled with messages of love and support from friends, family and Americans of goodwill around the country. Poignantly, the “Support LCPL Christian Brown, USMC, Combat Wounded” page dedicated to the Marine marked the day as Brown’s “1 Year Alive Day.”

“What better way to celebrate than being released from the hospital!” asks the Facebook post in Brown’s honor.

“Woo hoo!! Yes, he is being released in a few minutes so he has time to yet celebrate this glorious day! We hopefully will be released to travel on Monday and we will be coming home for a whole month!!! We are so excited!! So, if you are reading this please wish him a Happy 1 Year Alive Day!!!!”

All of first class on any passenger plane should be reserved for our Military members and vets that have sacrificed for America. When I fly the american flag on special days I always pause with a prayer for our service members. My father was in WW2 ,Korea and Vietnam. He is 85 years old now and I hope the Soldier has a long happy furture and He finds peace and joy in God’s love for him.I have been battling stage 4 cancer for years now and I thought of “Job ” in the Bible how Job never cursed God for taking everything from him.God eventually gave Job everything back to him happiness and faith.please stay strong you are loved more than you will ever know.Be strong ,have faith and stay positive. When I fly the flag I always pause with a prayer for our service members and their safety. This prayer has helped me often.”God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.May god fill you with love and joy and look still, to help others, You are a precious person and a great hero! From a wretch like me…..Amazing Grace how sweet the sound…………We love you and your bravery!

I will tell you what kind of person would ridicule this young man. It’s the same liberal pukes that our young men and woman fight for and protect their freedoms that many Americans take for granted. Giving these ignorant civilians the privilege to express their subversive rhetoric, which is one of the reasons why this country is losing it’s way, what ever happened to our moral compass America. Does anyone remember Patriotism and National pride. As a veteran myself it sickens me.

There were two people who offered him their first class seat but the flight attendants wouldn’t let them switch because they were closing the door and pushing back from the gate. He had to be lifted into the seat at the very back of the plane because the arm rest didn’t raise up for him. I believe they wanted to get him back to Bethesda so they could take care of the fever and I am sure feeling that badly it contributed to his stress. I don’t know that it is Delta’s fault I just think the crew was incredibly bad for this flight. I try not to fly at all but when I do Delta isn’t my first choice.

Decent and patriotic Americans should be blasting Delta with emails or on their fb wall with protests. I for one refuse to fly Delta any longer. Despicable and a display of total no-class.

I’ve already written to Delta to assure them that I will never spend another travel dime with their company. They probably won’t care, but I feel better.

Was the guy actually ridiculed on the flight? That would imply that he was mocked, joked, or laughed at. Now, I’m not defending the actions of Delta at all, I’m simply questioning the author’s choice of words. The other story didn’t mention anything at all about the guy being ridiculed, which would have significantly bumped up Delta’s nasty rating.

Yeah I agree. Usually the handicapped are put on board first. Why wasn’t he boarded first? Was he late for the plane? Who’s the idiot who was supposed to get him there on time? It was said he had a high fever. Why was he traveling then? What if he got the other passengers sick? If he had been wearing a uniform or some sort of military identification he probably would have gotten a standing ovation as they wheeled him to the back.

You bring up valid points, but the guy was crying. Something obviously bad had to have transpired that is not being reported, other than just having a bumpy wheelchair ride to the back. Hopefully some more witnesses come forward. . .

When I got off the plane in San Francisco in 1969 after 13 months in the hell hole of Vietnam I was greeted by a group of people that spit on me and my comrades-in-arms and called us baby killers. I guess I see this from a different perspective than you. I have walked a mile in his moccasins. Please give that some thought.

Okay and that’s horrible, but that has nothing to do with this story. There is zero evidence that such a thing happened here. Z-E-R-O.

There are people everywhere and in every line of business who hate our US troops and will use whatever opportunity to display their hates. It happened with our American troops regarding Viet Nam when they were openly spit upon in the streets plus received no worthy recognition from the US government when they returned home. I remember that time well. My best buddy returned from ‘Nam saturated with Agent Orange, dying from cancer, with zero help from the US government. It was the community who came alongside him and helped him until he took his last breath.

@APROUDINFIDEL. I was always raised to honor and respect servicemen/women and veterans. In 1969, I was in grade school and was very upset at how the Vietnam Veterans were treated. I know it is many years late, but may I thank you for the great service that you performed for your country.

I hope that ALL veterans know that there are a great many people in this country that do respect and appreciate your service.
