These people are dead set on a death wish. You could be just sitting in a restaurant having dinner with your friends and someone walks in and starts shooting. Unless you are carrying a weapon there would be nothing you could do and you might be the first one shot anyway. These loonys cannot be stopped. Just be thankful we are alive and it didn’t happen to us or one of our own.

It is not possible to control guns to any extent in the USA and no gun control will stop these bastards anyway. If I remember correctly all the guns ever used in these mass shootings are legally owned. In England Gun owneship of any kind is banned and we still have criminal and gangland shootings. Strangely, this has little to do with gun ownership or availability, its to do with crazy people. While such events are tragic I think when the dust settles, most americans recognise these events are the price their society has to pay for the freedom to own a weapon and most americans are prepared to pay it. Considering that there are over 200 million guns owned by ordinary americans who use them for legitimate purposes and harm no one why should their freedom be curtailed because of a few, and they are very few, nut cases against which one had no defence anyway.

Gee ! Do you suppose that we should reconsider the games we offer young minds that depict violence and the movies that Hollywood creates that show violence as an every day occurrence with the hero being quite proficient with all kinds of killing. The kid in Connecticut was only acting out what he has been spoon fed for most of his life. What do you expect? When will America wake up and realize what they have wrought ? Probably never. I don’t have much faith in the intelligence of Americans when it comes to social issues.

Me either, just listen to yourself! People like you ready to blame everything but the parents. Sounds to me like this kid had problems and the mother, single?, did the PC crap thing and tried the Dr. Spak BS. you know time outs and adult conversation. What this kid needs and most of the kids in this country are parents or parent that will lay down the law and whoop the ever liven tar out of them.
This whole get along crap that the 60′s, peace love dove morons, ushered in has handed over the discipline to our government by allow the PC progressives to convince them that all will be taken care of by us (gov.).
Just keep plowing them drugs to them for curiosity, ambition, love of life, as mistaken for attention deficit. Right, now look at our kids, drones hooked on phones and electronics rather than life and friendship.
What a waste our secular progressive education system and pliticians and parents has caused to our once proud, God fearing, country and youth.
      Yes that includes you!

safety is in your own hands when it comes down to it. guns not the problem people that tolerate and live in denial about someone in their own family or department mentle health or corruption turning your heads not wanting to get involved to solve the problem that would save innocent lives later like a first grade class…common sense says if you have a serious problem with a mentle case you dont go buy a bushmaster and put it in same house with a kid that has serious problems ..every school should have a armed guard 2 one for the back door that has the ability to be around kids and handle a fire arm no one should have to be a setting duck waitting for slaughter as your so called help is out side waitting to go in ..home school intill security is taken seriously ..if national security is leaking like a waterfall then know their is no security for your children no matter what they try and sale you on the news,,,sounds like armed security would be good jobs for vets cheers to mark furman and soldiers. they should build built in panic rooms under each class room thats bullet proof ..ps let no politicaian take your guns or rights. they treat criminals better then the safety of our children by letting them out every day from prison and mentle hospitals….

I loved the comment by the school Librarian. She said “the kids got scared when they saw fifteen state troopers with GIGANTIC GUNS” Is this woman out of her friggin mind??? If I were in that situation I would kiss each of those fifteen troopers and Kiss each of their GIGANTIC GUNS!!! I hope someone tells this ignoramus what a total fool she is. It just speaks to what those liberals think. Even the guns used to protect them are hated. This woman needs her head examined.

Sad beyond belief. However, we can hope forensic analysis of this troubled killers past will give up some clues to his rage. killing his mother is one thing for a hate filled boy but killing 20 children? This is a story of mental illness not the need for banning guns from responsible people. And remember these guns and ammo were stolen not purchased by the perpetrator..

I have a huge issue win the concept of arming every teacher.
I live in a beautiful suburb with 80,000 residents. 3 high schools, 5 middle
schools and 11 elementary schools. I am guessing there are at least
500 teachers plus administrators. Cost of a gun, holster, ammo and
training would be easily $1,000. Multiply that for each teacher
and it ain’t happening. Plus, you are counting on every teacher
diligently carrying that weapon each and every day. This idea
will never see the light of day.

A trained staff who can buzz in guests at schools can control incidents like this. The average jewelry store in a seedy area has a buzz in process and no doubt the use of a gun at close range. This would be a low cost way of providing security at each school without requiring every staff member to be involved.

Seems to me to be the only option is to arm the teachers after suitable training.

School ‘gun free zone’ policies and ‘Preserve and Protect’ sloganeering by law enforcement isn’t getting the job done in protecting the least among us.

A trained, ARMED teacher at the point of attack may have saved many, if not all, of the victims, adults and children. In this particular case, the principal, who, according to what I’ve read, went down first while she tried to warn the rest of the school of what’s coming.

Too bad only the Liberal MSM pundits and Hollywood anti-gunners who can’t string together a coherent sentence without a script, will be the only ones listened to. Them and the ‘Bully Pulpit’ of the Oval Office.

Public schools across the country are becoming our society’s lions’ dens. Have you ever seen a lion tamer go into the cage with the big cats without a whip in one hand and LOADED pistol in the other?

    Think on it!

This is the fault of stupid liberals and their stupid policies. This incident was their perfect utopia on display. Guns were not allowed in this school zone. No one was armed in this school. No citizen was allowed to be armed in this school. Only the police was armed. Only the Government was there to protect you. Citizens and teachers were forced to be dependent on the police. Is not that what these liberals want? So, tell me, was the police able to prevent this incident? How many lives was the police able to save? Was the police able to get there on time? Aren’t liberals always crying about how only police should have guns? Well, tell me, how did that work out? The police, with all their mighty force, armor, and guns were two seconds too late. Criminals will always get guns. In Mexico, there’s only one gun store in the whole nation, and it is the Government. No one in Mexico can own a gun without the feds knowing. Tell me, is Mexico safe? Has limiting access to guns in Mexico dropped crime? How about Switzerland, were practically every able body citizen is ordered to own an automatic rifle, and are paid to train with it. Switzerland has the lowest crime rate, and was never invaded by Hitler. Guns are not the problem. The Marxist, godless, degenerate, ruthless, promiscuous, violent, immoral, and brainwashed culture, society and people are.

Wow, tell us how you really feel! Well, said. Throughout my career I encouraged anyone who could legally own a firearm (not mentally ill or felons) to get one for protection. I’ve trained well over one hundred people in home defense and tactics for armed encounters in the home. On average about 5 people a year, on my own time, one on one, or with their families. These mutts choose their targets because they know there will be no guns on site. You never hear of a shooting at a school that has a school resource officer or armed security in the building. Colleges have police forces, but they are spread out…that gives the shooter time to roll up a body count. Most local schools are contained on small campuses a cop or security guard would be close and theoretically much quicker to intervene. Either way, like any attack you need to interrupt the execution of the plan, even if it’s just long enough to get more help there or to cause the shooter to hold up somewhere. In the military we had a saying about dealing with the enemy…you find him, fix him (hold him in place), flank him and **** him up. One guy with a gun (even a handgun), using sound tactics can do it. It ain’t rocket science. We’ve been teaching it to 18 and 19 year-olds for over 250 years.

BTW, I absolutely agree with the gun ad that reads “when seconds count, the cops are only minutes away.” I would rather show up at a house with a dead burglar in the living room, than a murdered homeowner in their bed. I’ve been to both calls, more than once. Usually the homeowner has been dead for hours if not days and the bad guy is long gone. There’s a lot less work with the first scenario.

I just heard a Fox News expert commentator say this mutt was prepared for “combat.” Well, I beg to differ…I’ve been a cop for thirty three years…A SWAT operator for twenty, and a former special operations soldier. Sorry to argue with the “expert” but this mutt was not prepared for combat. Let’s define combat. Going into a room full of kindergartners is not combat. Combat involves meeting an adversary who is like equipped and like minded, a combatant maybe even a “warrior.” Warriors go to combat, cowards kill children. Carrying numerous weapons does not prepare you for combat. A willingness to face that other warrior or adversary requires a level of mental and physical preparation you can not acquire through some ridiculous video game. But those games can plant the seed and desensitize. What you have here is a person who for whatever reason, went over the edge, past the threshold of sanity and murdered children…CHILDREN!!! Warriors do not intentionally kill children, they do not seek them out for murder. This was not combat, this was a heinous criminal act perpetrated by a mad man. This mutt was no warrior, had he been, he would have sought out other warriors…police officers…to make his statement. But of course, they would have fought back. He chose children…that makes him EVIL beyond measure.

No kidding, Sgt… can you imagine you or any of the people you’ve served with firing a gun anywhere near a bunch of kindergarteners? This guy has to be the biggest coward of the century. Probably someone just damaged his “self-esteem” and he couldn’t handle it.

BTW… thank you for holding the line for 33 years… I for one am really grateful.

“can you imagine you or any of the people you’ve served with firing a gun anywhere near a bunch of kindergarteners? ”

Yes I can…if it meant saving their lives. I.E. putting two rounds through some dudes noggin’ to end the threat..in a heartbeat.

And thanks for the kind words…It’s what I live for. If I didn’t have mouths to feed I’d do it for free.
