Hungarian Parliament Member Condemns the Jewish State, Arrested After Torching Israeli Flag

Hungarian member of parliament Balazs Lenhardt was arrested Friday after torching an Israeli flag during an anti-Zionist protest in the country’s capital.

According to Press TV, dozens of Hungarians rallied near the Foreign Ministry in Budapest to protest what they allege is Israel’s occupation and “atrocities” against the Palestinians. Police said Lenhardt was released following questioning the night of the demonstration.

The Hungarian lawmaker was, according to reports, once member of the far-right (often dubbed neo-nazi) Jobbik party. Blaze readers might recall that at the end of November, Jobbik’s leader Marton Gyongyosi called on his nation’s parliament to assemble a “list” of Jews who he deems poses a “national security threat” following Israel’s Operation Pillar of Defense.

Further supporting this disturbing anti-Semitic trend, Press TV reports that in October Jobbik members burned another Israeli flag — this time in front of one of Budapest’s largest synagogues. The pro-fascist party members were, at the time, calling on government to cut diplomatic and economic ties with Israel.
Jobbik leader Gabor Vona said any “agreement between Hungary and Israel should be canceled.”

The party holds 47 parliamentary seats and is the third-largest political party in Hungary.

The real story here is that he was arrested for EXPRESSING HIS VIEWS. Right or wrong, in a FREE society you need to be able to express your views, without the thought police censoring you.
His words are not harming anyone directly, so he should not have been censored. He is merely expressing his views. There is the Ultra-Orthodox Jews that are anti-Israel and burn the Israeli flag ALL THE TIME on Israeli soil!!!!. Look it up.
Shame on Orban for “state police censoring.” Haven’t the Hungarians had enough of 40 years of police state behind the Iron Curtain? Having said that:

  An astute observation– A once beautiful and vibrant country—now all that’s left are crumbled remains the result of more than 1/2 a century of Communist rule. I am a proud American of Hungarian descent– and I prefered to listen to the stories of my grandmother and the glory that was once the land of the Magyars!

  RJJ, you confuse being informed with facts, that flow counter to your fiction, bigotry. Yesterday I stated that those pushing for the restrictions of our rights were Jewish. I didn’t publish the articles about Sirota, Feinstein, Emanuel, and Bloomberg. All I did was was present the highly improbable fact that so many could be Jewish, were there not something in common. That commonality is Jewish cultural communism, kibbutz-ism.
  
  Here’s a list that supports my facts. You won’t like it because it is factual. All but two are progressive Democrats. Of the other two, one is a progressive Republican and the other openly calls himself a socialist. And, they failed to list the liberal, Jewish, Lieberman.

The Blaze said “the far-right (often dubbed neo-nazi) Jobbik party”. This kind of “dubbing” is entirely unfair. I lived in Hungary for quite some time. Jobbik is nationalist, not “nazi”. They believe in defending the rights of Hungarians no more or less than many of the Blaze reads staunchly defend such a right for America. Jobbik objects to blindly giving a stamp of approval to whatever political decisions that Israel makes. They are correct to call this out as a national security threat.

But, to hold the position that the Israeli government has made unjust, unfair, or imprudent decisions is to be labeled a “nazi” in 2012.
