Fox’s Gretchen Carlson Breaks Down Again After Asking Neurosurgeon If the Children Killed in CT Will Remember What Happened ‘in Heaven’

Dr. Eben Alexander Brings Hope to Sandy Hook Victims Families | Gretchen Carlson

Dr. Eben Alexander has captivated headlines with his fascinating story about a near-death experience during which he was brain dead, yet recalls a very-real visit to heaven.

The neurosurgeon appeared this morning on “Fox & Friends,” where he discussed his trip to the spiritual realm, while attempting to provide solace for those families who lost loved ones in last Friday’s tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. The discussion, once again, moved co-host Gretchen Carlson to tears.

Alexander, who authored a book about his experience called “Proof of Heaven,” explained that the families of those lost can take comfort knowing that their children are being cared for by a higher power.

“For me it’s become very, very clear that that entire realm and the eternity of our souls is very much a part of all reality,” he said. “And that is something that I want to offer to [the families]…that belief can offer comfort and they can know that those precious souls are cherished and cared for right now.”

While the scientist said that this encouragement for the families to seek comfort in the existence of heaven certainly does not diminish their current pain, he hopes that it will provide some relief. Carlson, clearly moved by the discussion, asked, through tears, ”Will these children forget, when [they're] in heaven, what happened to them?”

Alexander responded by noting that he believes, based upon his own experience, they they will “know what happened, but they will not feel the pain.” He also noted that those killed will be aware of the fact that “they have changed this world.”

Another co-host, Brian Kilmeade, chimed in and asked a very difficult question to both ponder and answer: “Where is the shooter?” As he did with Carlson’s inquiry, Alexander attempted to answer through the prism of his own experience.

“The shooter is in a place of reviewing his own life…it’s what’s called a life review,” he responded. “A very real phenomenon of re-living all the events of one’s life and reliving the pain and suffering that we’ve handed out to others, but from their point of view.”

In the end, Alexander noted that there is a need for society to help individuals who are mentally ill — a lesson that he believes this incident has taught the nation.

Elmer, got a new name for you liberal types…Hell dwellers. Christians can take the name calling, the defamation and hate coming from the future Hell dwellers but to compare Christianity to Islam is the ultimate insult. Christians have done nothing to deserve to be put in that category. I think it ironic the future Hell dweller support violence, extremism, immorality, lack of faith and many other decadent actions but the hate for Christians stems from immense jealousy of them. You are jealous you will never experience the peace that comes with an ethical and moral existence. Christians are humans and make mistakes but make quite a few less than anti-Christians. Unlike Jesus, I won’t weep for you nor give you bread or water or clothing when you are cold. I have not evolved to the point I can take pity of the sub-human progression of liberalism, atheism, communism and the taking away of our God given liberty. You might want to live in agony but I don’t short of my lack of sympathy for non-believers. I look forward to the day I can step over your decimated and crippled bodies knowing your soul is in the pit.

This is so much nonsense, and why these people sit and listen to this liar is beyond my tolerance. This liar did not go to heaven, and even if he did by being one of the 144,000 who will, he would not come back to earth in a fleshly body. Why do people give any credence to these false teachers, deceivers, and agents of greed who only want to sell their lies in their stinking books?? And Gretchen, really? You are hanging on to his every word as if was speaking the words of God himself. Grow up!

Have fun with the other Hell dwellers then. You’re obviously not following Christ, and are quite happy to turn your back on His teachings. Pride comes before the fall, and brother, your posts sure are prideful.

To those that @Lefty calls “hell dwellers;” true Christians are always here for you. We might not be perfect, but we recognize that that’s true of all humans and we think all humans deserve the same respect. We hope you come to the Lord, but it’s your choice and we will never force you to believe and follow Christ, nor will we celebrate if you decide not to believe. Hopefully you have a happy holiday season and (if you celebrate it) a Merry Christmas!

      @LOCKED

I find it interesting that some of the provocative comments come from some who joined the site yesterday.

I, too, feel the way you do concerning the role I am to play as a Christian. I believe we are to be kind, charitable, and forgiving. Trying not be offensive, nor easily offended. Loving my enimies, doing good to those who slight me.

I understand the desire to lash out at those who mock us, but advocate patience.

The world is becoming interesting, to say the least.

It is possible that God will start the cleanse with His church.

Hate and mockery abound. Keep the faith, my friend. Your words strengthen me.

Lefty — unless you are becoming like Jesus, there will be no room for you in Heaven. You are forgiven based on your forgiving others. Your hardness of heart PREVENTS God fm entering in. You wish me to cite chapter and verse for you? I can, but it may be far more efficacious for you to re-read the Gospels and find it there yourself. You may wish to start with the parable of the forgiven servant who shows no forgiveness and is cast out into the darkness.

but Lefty, if you don’t forgive your enemies, & they are real enemies, how do you expect God to forgive you? Jesus made it very clear: we must forgive our enemies & do good to those who persecute us or we cannot be His followers. the debt they owe is owed to God; there’s no reason for you to withhold anything from your enemies & certainly not forgiveness & prayer. I plan to meet you in heaven but unless we both forgive our enemies, we’ll never make it. I’ll pray that you might be given the ability to forgive. (when there were enemies I couldn’t forgive, I asked God to work forgiveness w/i me because I just couldn’t do it myself. He made me able to forgive even though it’s still difficult.)

      Regarding the subject of “forgiveness”:

Is it appropriate to forgive a person who is not repentant of their crime?

Does God forgive a person who is continuing in his sin?
Or is forgiveness only for those who are contrite and humble in their sorrow over their error?
If a person is a deliberate sinner and is content to stay that way, should he be forgiven by you and me?

      @BEARFOOT

Matthew 6 may contain the answer.

Also, not to open up an anti-Mormon conversation, but for informational purposes I would add that we Latter Day Saints are told:

“I, the Lord, will forgive whom I will forgive, but of you it is required to forgive all men. (Doctrine and Covenants, Doctrine and Covenants, Section 64:10)

I realize there are different interpretations of the scriptures and that different denominations may have different ideas, I’m just telling you what I am told.

It is, of course, difficult. Thankfully I have never had my faith tested to such a degree as what these parents are enduring.

They truly have my sympathy and I’m sure The Lord knows how best to judge them.

@ BEARFOOT – those 144,000 you are referring to is the Laodiceans that will end up going through the Tribulation. They’re God’s chosen that rejected their calling and had to go through the tribulation as punishment. Half will lose their eternal lives while half will repent and die, but because they repent, they’ll be raised from the dead at Christ’s return. Those children will be raised up in the great white throne judgment and I would imagine that, the second their eyes are opened up in those graves, they will remember. I imagine that there were be a lot of frightened people who are waking up at the same time that God will have his saints right there to help them… they’ll take their hand and comfort them and they’ll then be given 100 years to live out a full life with Satan bound and unable to wreak havoc in their lives ever again. They’ll be given a chance to know God’s way of life and to live a full, abundant, prosperous, happy, healthy life. It breaks my heart when anyone dies, let alone a child … but, we should also be glad that these children won’t have to suffer as much of mankind will have to suffer here in the not too distant future. Millions are going to lose their very lives in the tribulation. These children are spared that horror. They will live again though… I can’t wait… I hope I am counted worthy to be there to meet each and every one of them and maybe even teach them God’s way of life.

If Gretchen Carlton gets comfort from what this doctor says, who are any of you to ridicule and criticize her? These are her beliefs; if you disagree then watch something else. If you don’t like that “the Blaze” is reporting it, go to another website. It is the attitude of most of the negative commentators on this page that has created the societal problems that we are experiencing. Grow up and show some manners! If you can’t do this, at least keep your mouths (and your comments) to yourself.

Your ignorance of Christianity is showing. Want to tell me where you got the idea that Christians are supposed to be barefoot and poor? Or why we are not to be wise financially? Or maybe how we are to give to the poor when we’re broke? Funny that folks like you beat us over the head for not doing enough for the poor, (in your opinion), but you expect us to live in poverty with nothing to give back because you think we are not to make sound financial decisions. Like buying gold, for instance!

Heaven is like the movie Groundhog day. We are living in the fixed days as was prophesized, but when you die you don’t have time as a linear line or the same cause in effect where you have to live eternally with each decision you make. Days in heaven can be customized to your liking before you live them. You can return to any Earthly day you wish and live it out in a different way than what was prewritten for the sake of prophesy by God.

I’d like to think that Heaven would be a lot like Second Life… you can mold yourself to look like whatever you want, you can make stuff out of thin air, you can fly through space and not feel any pain… though if Jesus is right (Matthew 22:30) I would feel kinda sorry for those who really had their heart set on marrying their dream spouse and starting a family, but died before that could happen.

Carlson was asking the wrong person this question.
There is evidence in the Bible that people remember things from this life in Heaven. But in Heaven there is no pain and suffering of any kind. Only joy everlasting.

This short sermon series by Pastor Robert Morris, (of Gateway Church, Ft. Worth, Texas), is one of the best teachings, directly from the Bible, about death and Heaven that I have seen. He explains it better than I ever could. Well worth watching. More directly to Carlson’s question, try watching episode #4 if you don’t want to watch the whole 5 part series in 30min. segments. But you will be missing out on some very important information and teaching if you skip the rest. Pastor Morris is enjoyable to listen to as he is teaching too.

The context of that verse referred to the married status of Christians not to what happens to children when they die. When you die, whether an adult or child, you do not become an angel, you remain a human and retain the personhood you had on earth. I believe those childrem are with Jesus in heaven, but they are human not angels. Angels are a totally different creation than human beings.

But those that claim to have been to heaven say who they viewed looked human , but they are not . Only after Jesus takes his bride up to heaven will we have a hard body , and we will still not be human . But what ever one believes on this subject doesn’t affect the salvation once they have it .

Uh no, doctor, your “heaven” experience was a ketamine hallucination, and there is zero evidence of any afterlife. When you die, you die, game over. So make the most of this life, it is the only one. And stop believing ancient fairy tales invented by ignorant people with the moral “reasoning” of Taliban terrorists.

Let’s sse here. You say “there is no after-life”. I say that I know for a fact that “yes there is an after-life”. therefore it goes without saying that “when I die I’ll be going somewhere”. “When you die you just die”. WoW .. I’m glad I’m not you. I’ve got eternal life to look forward to. You’ve got nothing.

It goes like this. It’s not my job to prove to you that there’s an “after-life”. I can just say that some people know and others don’t know. That’s a fact. If you’re one of the ones that don’t know I would think because “eternal life” is involved ….. well …..if I were you I would try my best to find out the real facts.

What a Shameless Ghoul Retchin’ Carlson is and what a silly story. Of course they remember. God Killed them On Purpose.

Since EVERYTHING (including this post) is Part of God’s Plan, I’m sure the children in CT were clearly nasty little brats and completely deserved it, only this time instead of in 2 Kings 2:23-24 where the local kids mocked a bald guy God sent 2 bears that killed 42 of them obviously slowly, painfully in sheer mindlblasting terror, God was in a Merciful mood and sent one of his ‘special’ children to do it quick and relatively painlessly with an AR-15.

It is all part of God’s plan, God could have intervened. God’s plan is to teach what is good and what is evil, and then to clean us from our sin by everyone being innocent because we are all living out a predetermined fate, as Jesus had a predetermined fate. Jesus was not murdered by the Jews but was living out his predetermined role.
The Rock says” Know your role” it is not in a man to direct even his own footsteps

Watching commercial television coverage of the school shooting over the last few days could be a 500 or 600 level college course on how to Monetize a Tragedy while at the same time you pretend to be pious and caring. The fact of the matter is that Fox News and the other television news agencies are making MILLIONS off if this shooting, MILLIONS with all the advertising that they are selling while pushing all their moving images of DEATH and SUFFERING. How to pull that off: The raking in of millions of dollars into your own pockets as you amplify the pain and suffering of other people, all the while trying to act like little angels praying for the happiness of the little TOTS IN HEAVEN, how you pull that off without having the whole of the populus come after you with torches and pitchforks like you are Frankenstein is the magical trick they are trying to pull off…

@Imchristian, I believe what scruffycat is saying is that the false emotion many of these journalists try to portray is sickening. They ad music to their presentations in an attempt to rip emotion from you, make you feel a certain way, just to get that emotion to translate into ratings and revenue. While it might be debatable on if journalist X Y or Z is truly upset, the industry as a whole is sickeningly exploiting this to the very last drop. They do it for their own politics, they do it for their own revenue. I would bet my house that there was at least a few ghouls in the producership position that squealed internally that 20 kids died, and then they calculated how many weeks they could milk it. Its not mockery or fun we deliver on these charlatans, but scorn. This isn’t just about Fox News either, but about ALL the networks, cable, broadcast, and internet.

Before that, I didn’t like fox and friends because Steve really came off as a male version of a dumb bimbo when it came to economics or politics. While some of his sentiments in favor of Austrian theory might be on the right track, his articulation of the principles of it made me cringe.

WOW… so cynical. God can use anyone He chooses to show Heaven to while they’re still on this earth. He’s chosen several that I’ve heard of, from Christian women to children to this neurosurgeon. In my opinion, who better than a neurosurgeon, the very profession that has tried to explain away the “tunnel of light” as synapses firing off in the brain as the body dies, to tell the world that he was wrong, that his profession was wrong and that Heaven is real? I’d say God chose him for this specific purpose.
