Christians Stage Stunning ‘Nativity Flash Mob’ Inside CA Mall in Response to Atheist-Led ‘War on Christmas’
Throughout 2012, Santa Monica, Calif., has been home to intense debate over the separation of church and state. Following atheist furor over a traditional nativity scene, the city decided to ban religious speech in Palisades Park. We’ve already reported about the live nativity loophole Christians used to ensure that symbols pertaining to Jesus’ birth appeared in the park — but some believers also resorted to another tactic: Staging a “Nativity Flash Mob” inside of a local shopping center.
In an effort to prove that celebrating the Christmas season in its true form is a societal right, Christians from Metro Calvary Chapel in Santa Monica and others from around the Orange County area put on an unexpected holiday show at the Santa Monica Place Mall on Dec. 16th.

What started out as one woman caroling beautifully in the middle of the mall quickly evolved into a much larger spectacle (all captured on video, of course). Within seconds, others joined her in singing traditional Christmas hymns, while another woman placed an empty manger near the group.
Then, just as “O Come, All Ye Faithful” began being belted out, Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus — in full costume — appeared near the manger. Before long, other characters associated with the nativity emerged, as a crowd began circling the spectacle with cameras.
A video that captures the show, which extended for more than six minutes, culminates with a round of applause from shoppers and passer-byes who stopped to see it.
Watch the “Nativity Flash Mob,” below:
A press release about the endeavor claims that, rather than get angry about atheist attacks on Santa Monica’s 60-year nativity tradition, those involved in the flash mob decided “to do what matters most.” And what is that, you ask? Telling the Christmas story to as many people as possible.
“What matters is that the Christmas story needs to be told – it’s part of the Great Commission for Christians,” the press release reads. “And this time of year, Christians should be able to celebrate freely, carry on the message, and not be hiding for fear of offending someone.”
Judging from the applause inside Santa Monica Place Mall, it didn’t sound as though anyone was offended. For more about the ongoing nativity drama in Santa Monica, read TheBlaze’s intensive coverage.

As the USA has Christmas and Easter as public holidays it presents itself as a primarily Christian country, albeit it one that welcomes people of other religions. Non-Christians came to the USA knowing all this. There is simply nothing wrong with the public celebration of these holidays.

As long as Congress isn’t establishing a state religion through law or preventing people from exercising their religious freedom, I think it is great. A Christian has just as much right to exercise this form of free speech on government property as anyone else has to stand on that same property and speak.

The wall of separation does not say the state must be hostile to religion. The government is barred from preferring a religion or seeming to. But allowing private groups to use government property is OK as long as anyone can use it. If that means two scientists and Darwin in the cradle, so be it.

Posted on December 20, 2012 at 8:05pmHere’s the actual wording: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof” — sorry, Macpuppy and other libs, but there’s no “except” there.
Government property is in fact the first place where our freedoms are most protected constitutionally, and no lawyery tricks or even corrupt judges can actually change that. The only legal option would be a Constitutional amendment rescinding our rights.
Of course, atheists have no basis for morals, so they don’t mind cheating. Thankfully, Christians are not just rolling over and taking it. ^_^

I don’t even have a problem with putting nativity scenes on public property as long as everyone from every political and religious affiliation can do the same. Problem is people who believe this is a christian nation don’t react well when they see a satanist alter next to a nativity scene. The only event Jesus specifically instructed his followers to commemorate was his death, not his birth. (Luke 22:19,20 ) There is no historical evidence that the early Christians celebrated the birth of the Christ. But they did memorialize his death. (1 Corinthians 11: 23-26) It was not until more than 300 years after Jesus’ birth that Christendom began to observe Christmas on December 25. In the mid-17th century, an act of parliament banned Christmas celebrations in England. In the US the Massachusetts General Court did the same. Why? It was nothing but a pagan festival covered with a Christian veneer honoring the agricultural god Saturn and the sun god Sol Invictus, or Mithra.

Jesus was most likely born in the fall. Taxes are collected each year during the census. But in order to collect taxes, you had to wait until the harvest was in and sold. Tax collectors were no more likely to want to collect taxes in the winter than the next person. Hence, October or there about is considered the most likely time frame for his birth.

Posted on December 19, 2012 at 4:53pmSo there was this CEO. He decided that He wanted to create a Universe. So He did. It was beautiful, like the most amazing painting you’ve ever seen, or video or movie..Beautiful and breathtakingly so.
Then He wanted to talk to people about it…share ideas…share the creation He’d made.
The ‘back-story’ to this CEO (whom we call GOD) was the place he lived in (we call HEAVEN) only had one boss. There was
one being there who was jealous, spiteful, angry and a real trouble maker…so this bad guy got kicked out of Heaven and went to Earth. This bad guy (we call him Satan) took up residence in God’s new creation: We call it earth. He can’t read minds but he can whisper to God’s Creations. Satan’s M.O. is to cause doubt and to discourage God’s Creations. Satan whispered to EVE and she corrupted ADAM and sin entered her DNA, therefore into the world. The GOOD v. Evil has been going on since then. JESUS, born to be the Only SINLESS sacrifice as required to pay for all our sins, came to earth, born of a Virgin and showed all humanity the way out of sin and to GOD.
People who don’t believe in God or Jesus deprive themselves of the reason for this life – which is a testing period to allow people to come to God and choose Him and gain eternal life in a Heaven without sin.
It’s up to all of us who are fortunate enough to believe to inform those not being taught about God and answering those who are Satan’s minions. GOD is our JOB 1.

Posted on December 19, 2012 at 1:08pmYou are correct. But the notion that the creator is captured in the writings of a single religion or single group of people is the ultimate arrogance. There is not doubt that a greater energy or force exists in the universe, call it god if you will. But it is doubtful that man has any idea what that energy or force is and unlikely we could comprehend or understand it if it was revealed to us. And if people are looking for an answer as to why there is a movement away from church or Christianity. You might want to start looking inside the flock for the individuals who through arrogance, disrespect for others, lack of charity and other attributes of their lives contradict their professed beliefs and faith.

Posted on December 19, 2012 at 8:47pm@TRI-OX…..The similarities between Mithraism and Christianity have included their chapels, the term “father” for priest, celibacy and, it is notoriously claimed, the December 25th birthdate. Over the centuries, apologists contending that Mithraism copied Christianity nevertheless have asserted that the December 25th birthdate was taken from Mithraism. As Sir Arthur Weigall says:
December 25th was really the date, not of the birth of Jesus, but of the sun-god Mithra. Horus, son of Isis, however, was in very early times identified with Ra, the Egyptian sun-god, and hence with Mithra…
Mithra’s birthday on December 25th has been so widely claimed that the Catholic Encyclopedia (“Mithraism”) remarks: “The 25 December was observed as his birthday, the natalis invicti, the rebirth of the winter-sun, unconquered by the rigours of the season.”
So what is the reason for the season?
2Corinthians 6: 14-16 Do not become unevenly yoked with unbelievers. For what fellowship do righteousness and lawlessness have? Or what sharing does light have with darkness?15Further, what harmony is there between Christ and Be′li‧al? Or what portion does a faithful person have with an unbeliever?16And what agreement does God’s temple have with idols?
