ABC’s Jake Tapper Is Going to CNN

AP
ABC News’ top White House correspondent Jake Tapper is moving to CNN, both networks announced Thursday.
Tapper will anchor a new weekday program and serve as CNN’s chief Washington correspondent.
“With CNN’s impeccable reporting during the elections and the exciting changes in the works for the network, this is a perfect time to join the CNN team,” Tapper said in a release. “I am excited about the prospect of working with both the new leadership and some old friends and colleagues.”
CNN said Tapper’s new role would be as a “key Washington, D.C. anchor and correspondent for CNN.”
“We are thrilled to have Jake join CNN and take the helm of a brand new weekday program,” CNN U.S. Executive Vice President Ken Jautz said. “Jake is an exceptional reporter and communicator, and we look forward to developing a program that takes advantage of all of his strengths, his passion and his knowledge of national issues and events.”
ABC praised Tapper as having “set the pace for the White House press corps,” calling him a “ferocious reporter” who has “built a reputation as one of the most prolific and multi-talented journalists on the beat.”
Tapper tweeted out word of his new role, posting, “Some news” and a link to CNN’s release.

Jake Tapper is no different than any of the other lapdogs in the WH media.
What tough journalism did he do on Benghazi ? What tough vetting did he ever do of Obama ?
He is a slug, just going to a slug network….suits him as well as any of the rest.

Posted on December 20, 2012 at 6:00pmHe’s one of the only White House correspondents who have dared to challenge The One personally, while challenging his minion Carney frequently. I was always surprised The One allowed that to happen. Guess that’s been taken care of.

Posted on December 20, 2012 at 6:09pmSee now if more reporters asked Pres BHO these embarrassing questions, they could all get raises and move to CNN where they don’t have to really report anything… Who among them is going to ask the next embarrassing question or move to ABC and fondle his (BHO’s) privates???

Posted on December 20, 2012 at 5:52pmThe White House had a “little talk” with ABC. Can’t have a reporter at the White House asking “Where were you?” to the Messiah. Fox News is the only station that the White House can’t intimidate..

Posted on December 20, 2012 at 5:43pmTapper winds up at FOX within 5 years is my bet. Good get by CNN though. Jake appears to be a fairly objective guy and is starting to get in some tough questions. Hope he only is emboldened to continue asking the tough questions.

Posted on December 20, 2012 at 5:41pmFrom ABC to CNN? That’s like being sent to Siberia. It’s the bottom of the barrel. My guess is Obama’s people twisted some arms to arrange this as punishment for one-too-many non-softball questions from Tapper.

Posted on December 20, 2012 at 5:11pmcompared to all of the other spineless WH press reporters, Tapper’s 1.5 vertebrae is really a big deal! You nearly need to use two hands to count the “tough” questions he’s asked Obama in the past 4 years.
Looks like his cutting-edge, in-your-face white house reporting just got him chained to a desk somewhere.
