Farrakhan Claims CT Shooting Massacre Could Be a Lesson From God: ‘Chickens Coming Home to Roost’

On Friday, just one week after unimaginable tragedy struck Sandy Hook Elementary School, Nation of Islam head Louis Farrakhan released a statement commenting about the horror that befall 20 small children and six adults (in addition to the shooter and his mother). But rather than maintaining a somber and non-political tone, the fiery faith leader used the violent incident to make a political statement, noting that the event may be a God-inspired lesson to America.

Farrakhan’s commentary begins by highlighting how “terrible” the situation is, as the Nation of Islam leader claims that “every life has a purpose” and that innocence was lost last week — all statements that most Americans would agree with. However, he quickly departs from this inclusive tone, asking “what ‘lesson’” should be learned in the wake of the Sandy Hook massacre.

Louis Farrakhan Wonders: Was Sandy Hook Gods Revenge on America? | Drones

The Minister Louis Farrakhan (Photo Credit: AP)

That’s when he delves full-throttle into a political analysis, while quoting scripture to essentially claim that the U.S. has brought this horror upon itself. In the statement, Farrakhan connects the deaths as a result of military drone action in the Middle East and Africa to Adam Lanza’s murderous killings in Connecticut. Additionally, he essentially questions whether this latest event — one that the nation is still struggling to process — is God’s revenge upon America.

Taking a page from the Rev. Jeremiah Wright (the two are friends) he notes that Sandy Hook may be an incident that showcases “chickens coming home to roost.” Read this portion of his shocking statement, below:

And hopefully, the president of the United States, sending drones into Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia, Afghanistan and other places, killing men, women and children—and the word says “collateral damage,” and we go on killing… Could it be that these precious lives lost, and the pain that it has caused every one of us who shares the pain of those parents, and those loved ones who lost those precious children and the lives of the teachers who taught them…

Could it be that God wants us to see that until you can feel the pain and suffering of others that has been inflicted upon them on the basis of a lie, and America’s reach for the resources of that area of the world? Then maybe you will understand that this may be “chickens coming home to roost.” “For as thou hast done”—the Book says: “So shall it be done unto you.”

Read the statement in its entirety here.

In CONTROL, Glenn Beck presents a passionate, fact-based case for guns that reveals why gun control isn’t really about controlling guns at all; it’s about controlling us. Find out more HERE.

Unfortunately there are many lips that should be sealed. Instead of those children, it would have been better to silence a whole slew of these so called religious leaders along with many in the media and almost 100 percent of our federal politicians.

We’d be so much better off with the kids killed alive and these others with their lips sealed.

I know, right? It has nothing to do with “whose side” the speakers are on; we need to call them out no matter which side they’re on.

It’s like how people kept supporting Todd Akin and Richard Mourdock after their views were revealed. Why? “Because they’re on our side!” Well then, maybe we should have kicked them the heck out and chosen better people for “our side” instead!

If God is one to kill innocent children as a form of punishment and divine blackmail, then I am happy to say I wouldn’t worship Him if He made His existence known to us. Is this a being worthy of unquestionable praise and worship? If He uses death and tragedy to “encourage” belief, then He is not wholly good. I wouldn’t want an eternal life paid for with the blood of innocents. That would be a horrible thing to believe, much less desire.

It is reasonable to ask this question, but one should also realize that we are not “all-knowing” and so are not in a position to judge God’s motives (that is, if you believe in God).

For example, if we know or understand less than .000001 % of all there is to know, it may be that what God has in store, despite these occurrences, is beyond our ability to understand.

I believe in God, if for no other reason than the fact that science had ZERO explanation for the existence of the soul. Most people believe in the soul (or personality). When we go to a funeral and see our loved one in the box, it is not them. It is their earthly shell. Their soul is gone. But to where?

I believe with God. No more pain. No more sickness. Etc. Is it true? I don’t really know, but that is what I believe.

To have contempt for God after this horrible shooting is really the epitome of arrogance, since to have that opinion, you have to assume you are all-knowing, and my guess is that you know you are not.

or perhaps it is an illustration of the hypocrisy of the leftists who scream about gun control in the wake of the evil committed by Adam Lanza but turn a blind eye to the children murdered every day in the hallowed halls of planned parentohood.

Mind you this is only speculation on my part – since God’s ways are not our ways and we in our limited finite selves cannot comprehend the infinite God. I do know that when we ignore the Truth and the correct and best way for living – evil runs amock.

And just for those who are bent upon pouncing – the Bible describes the right way to do things as well as illustrating the results of going the wrong way – (hint – the topics that most atheists chose to raise as reasons not to pay attention to the Bible are actually warnings as to what not to do )

Never mind – this is mostly rhetorical on my part (I’ll leave it to the lefties to look up the concept of rhetorical)

Farrakhan: “These shootings happen because we turn our back on God in the world and need to feel the pain we’ve inflicted upon others.”

No, they’re pretty equivalent. The difference is you like Huckabee and his message and don’t like Farrakhan and his. The fact that they’re both using the same argument (“These children deserved to die because of our disrespect toward God”) is entirely lost upon you. I don’t like either; they both are using a tragedy and the deaths of children to hog the spotlight and guide their own agenda.

No. You miss Huckabee’s point. What he was saying is that when you take God and morality out of school, you get citizens with no morality.

This preacher is saying we are being punished for taking lives, like the firstborn of Egypt for killing the boy children of Israel. Completely different.

Direct quote from Huckabee’s facebook page on the subject, condensed for length:

“A specific act of violence is rarely the result of a specific single act of a culture that prompts it. In other words, I would never say that simply taking prayer and Bible reading from our institutions or silencing Christmas carols is the direct cause of a mass murder…. But the cause and effect we see in the dramatic changes of what our children are capable of is a part of a cultural shift from a God-centered culture to a self-centered culture… We dismiss the notion of natural law and the notion that there are moral absolutes and seemed amazed when some kids make it their own morality to kill innocent children…And we don’t teach them there is a Creator God who sets immutable rules, a God who is knowable, and to whom we are ultimately responsible…

      (Huckabee continued)

when that world view was the foundation of our nation’s social contract, we got in trouble at school for talking in class, chewing gum, pulling a girl’s pigtails, or slouching in our school desks. We took guns to school, but they were in the gun racks of our trucks and we used them to hunt before and after school. It never occurred to us to use them to murder our teachers and fellow students… when we as a nation feared God, we didn’t fear that a 20 year old with a high power rifle would gun down our children in their schools.”

“We ask why there is violence in our schools, but we have systematically removed God from our school. Should we be so surprised that schools would become a place of carnage?”

Yeah, I’m going to go with “Because we don’t allow preaching God in school, we get school shootings.” I find it ironic that in your quoted statement, you exclude almost EVERYTHING he blames the shooting on:

“… it’s far more than just taking prayer or Bible reading out of the schools. It’s the fact that people sue a city so we aren’t confronted with a manger scene or a Christmas Carol. That lawsuits are filed to remove a cross that’s a memorial to fallen soldiers. Churches and Christian-owned businesses are told to surrender their values under the edict of government orders to provide tax-funded abortion pills. We carefully and intentionally stop saying things are sinful and we call them disorders. Sometimes, he even say they’re normal. And to get to where… we have to abandon bedrock moral truths, then [we] ask, “Well, where was God?” And I respond that, as I see it, we’ve escorted Him right out of our culture and we’ve marched Him off the public square, and then we express our surprise that a culture without Hm actually reflects what it’s become.”

If that’s not using tragedy to promote his own views, I don’t know what is. “If you don’t do these things, little children will be shot” is his not-at-all-veiled threat. It’s too blatant to miss!

Did you listen to or read his answers? YES, he was promoting an agenda. He said: “If you don’t let teachers lead prayer in public classrooms, and do not allow Nativity scenes on government-owned property, then children will be murdered because God is PISSED!”

Really now. You can spin it however you want… but when you blame the death of 20 children on God… you’re always going to get answered like this. You need to look at the men behind it, and realize they have an agenda.

There is an agenda, you are right. The agenda is: if you tell God to leave, he will be a gentleman and leave! He is, after all, a gentleman, and gives us all free will. This is shown in every post since the inception of the blaze and the carvings in caves. God bless you!

      @ Locked

First off, my quoted statement didn’t come from the same place as your quoted statement, so it can’t have the same words. However, yours only backs up my statement anyway.

“If you don’t do these things, little children will get shot.” In a nutshell, that is correct. Just like if you drink and drive, there is a large chance an innocent person will get killed. Is that His fault, or the driver’s?

Do you know the story of Cain and Abel? Cain got jealous of Abel, and killed him. When God asked Cain where Abel was, Cain said, “I know not, am I my brother’s keeper?” Was God responsible for Abel’s death? No, and on top of that, Cain was responsible for his brother (not just his death), and he knew it.

Of course, you aren’t really getting this are you? None of this is your fault or responsibility. And that public attitude, right there, is why America is in trouble. The last place anyone ever wants to look is in the mirror. Those of us who DO look in that mirror, we have no issue understanding exactly what Mike said, because we’re not trying to shift the blame someplace else. I’m responsible, your responsible, CNN is responsible, Beck is responsible. Every American is responsible.

So, this and more will continue to happen, because we do not want to take responsibility, and do what we need to do to produce moral and law abiding citizens with conscience. This is not a threat. It is a fact.
