Intense Video Claims to Show U.S. Soldiers Getting Ambushed by Taliban Fighters in Afghanistan

Intense footage uploaded to YouTube claims to show U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan coming under fire from Taliban fighters during an “ambush.” The soldiers react with “an immediate hail of suppressing fire to keep the enemies’ heads down.”

The video, if completely authentic, gives us a look into the types of dangerous — and potentially deadly — situations our soldiers face on a daily basis, risking their lives for their fellow Americans.

“Once the firefight is won and the enemy breaks contact, the team does a break down of remaining ammo and supplies,” the video’s description reads.

The footage, seemingly taken by one of the soldiers’ helmet cams, is reportedly “part of an ongoing documentary of the war in Afghanistan through raw combat footage.”

We have no purpose over thier than to try to establish a government for a 7th century people that dont like us, dont want us, and soon as we pull out will revert to a 7th century tribal rule.   This video is from funker 530′s channel which I am subscribed to. Some say these troops are spraying and praying. It appears to me that the enemy is firing at them from the tree line approximately 2000 yards across an open field. This was more a display of force in response to what was most likely inaccurate and sporadic fire from the enemy. This is a way of telling the enemy we have the capability to lay down sustained automatic fire, we have grenade launchers and plenty of ammo. You want to come closer?

  Unless this is a ‘legal’ disqualifier… Battle/War/being fired upon is hell and under pressure of being fired upon – cussing is expected. MOST of your readers here are mature and expect it…

  Again those are OUR TROOPS! And there is that word ‘claims’ again… Is that like the overused word ‘alleged’?…

  I feel sad as can be for the armed forces fighting for a country that no longer exist. the us has been in decline since clinton was in office and the clowns in the us government now are leading the country to total failure from the inside. The only real applicable word for them, beginning with obama and all democrats is communist, the republicans, cowards and appeasers to the communist, one half of the country voted against the lying sneak in the white house but he is getting away with dictatorial actions as if he were voted in by an overwhelming majority.   I will be picking up one of my family members who is a USMC combat engineer from the airport tonight. He told me when he got back from his second tour in Afghanistan that his buddy used the grenade launcher on his M16 as his primary weapon and did some serious damage with it.

  Not only bring them home, but put them on the southern border to train others in fighting insurgents bringing in drugs, etc., across the border. What better training, and it would be to protect our country.
  
  Second, waterboard any leader caught to track the drug paths in the US.
  
  Finally, build the prisons to house the cartel bunch up in the Aleutians. Cheap housing, easy to control.

  GPSTech, your range estimation is highly exaggerated. The tree line is under 500 meters and more than likely inside of or right at 400 meters. 2k is well over a mile which is also over four times the maximum range of a 40mm grenade launcher!!! No self-respecting infantry leader is going to waste a bunch of 40mm grenade rounds if the targets are out of range and unable to receive the blessing bestowed on them by the “blooper”.

There is no question in my mind that America has the toughest troops,sailors, and airmen in the world when needed. While they do not desire to do so they are able to kick the crap out of any force in the world if it is needed. America not only has the toughest and bravest of the world they also have the kindest.

The only problem is I can not say the same about the people giving them orders that sit behind a nice desk with a huge disdain for America. It is sad how I never worry if our armed forces are able to do a job but I only worry about the people giving the orders and if they actually have those people’s best interest in mind which sadly I do not think most times they do. For the most part they are fighting a PR campaign and not a enemy. I am sick of loosing some of the best our nation has because Washington wants to look good to the world.

God bless each and every active armed forces individual. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

What were we supposed to be watching there? All I saw was some soldiers randomly firing into an open field, no sighting , no real aim. What was that? Spray and pray! No confirmed kills!

  This video shows the helmet cam of 1 moving soldier and 4 static solders laying supression fire in 2 directions about 90 degrees apart. Their squad appears to be on the edge of some building ruins or a broken wall.
  
  The footage resolution is poor beyond a 20 yard range from the wearer’s helmet cam.. I can not discern any enemy combatants. There appeared to be no return fire.
  
  Must have been some neighboring squad that got ambushed and this one was nearby enough to support the counterattack.
  
  Their position does not appear entrenched, and is shielded from only 1 direction by that broken wall.
  
  Video shows the end of a gun battle.
  The headline would all make more sense of the start of the ambush was shown.

  Doubt this was an ambush! I was taught when ambushed return fire and keep moving. Only idiots stop. Also it does not appear to be any type of a controlled situation. People are standing upright and returning fire and some are just laying behind the wall. Couldn’t distinguish anyone in charge.

It’s the Christmas menu from the Marine Corps Base in San Diego California, 1942, for Marines being deployed to the South Pacific battlefields.
