WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama has nominated Sen. John Kerry as his next secretary of state, saying Kerry’s entire life “has prepared him for this role.”

If confirmed, the Massachusetts Democrat would succeed Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton in Obama’s second-term Cabinet.

Clinton did not attend the Roosevelt Room announcement. She’s recovering from a concussion sustained in a fall.

Obama said Kerry’s political career and service has established him as a respected American voice around the globe. Obama said Kerry will not need on-the-job training.

Kerry has served as chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and is a decorated Vietnam veteran who was critical of the war effort when he returned home to the U.S.

He has represented Massachusetts in the Senate since 1985.

Oh another double-talk, falsehood speaker joins the ranks. What a perfect fit to replace Hillary. No one will realize she is gone.

The law of averages applies to everything but the State Department. Given enough time everything improves, however, this rule does not apply to the Dept. of State. Decade after decade this department has managed to fall under the leadership of some of the most American hating leaders
ever appointed. If they don’t hate our country, they simply screw things up by their own lack of leadership qualities and common sense. This appointment assures the downward spiral will continue.
No doubt we will see more Bengahzis, only bigger ones.

I remind all my fellow citizens that this man met personally (not in any official capacity) with Madame Binh of the Viet Cong in Paris in June, 1970. He was officially still a reserve officer of the US Navy and according to the US Constitution committed treason by meeting with an avowed active enemy of the United States. Although he was never charged, he is in the same category, in my mind, as Hanoi Jane Fonda. I would love to see Senator McCain grill him on his treasonous actions, and be very vociferous and public in his condemnation and rejection of his candidacy for Secretary of State. BUT, his cojones have shriveled up and wasted away.Plus, he is one of those “my good friends” in the Senate. This country is totally screwed and, in my mind, officially died on November 6, 2012.
