Protesters Interrupt NRA Press Conference With Signs, Screams: ‘NRA, Stop Killing Our Children!’
Multiple CodePink protesters interrupted the much-anticipated NRA press conference on Friday morning. At least two protesters donned signs and screamed anti-gun, anti-NRA messages before they were escorted out.
“NRA, stop killing our children. It’s the NRA and assault weapons that are killing our children, not armed chil– not armed teacher,” the first protester shouted confusingly.
“The NRA is killing our children! … They are the perpetrators of the crimes that are taking place in our schools and on our streets!”
A few minutes later, another protester stood up with a different sign and shouted, “The NRA has blood on its hands! Shame on the NRA! Ban assault weapons now!”
Another person, possibly from the press corps, shouted out, “Mr. LaPierre, what’s your reaction to this?” a question directed to NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre who was delivering the remarks. When LaPierre refused to acknowledge the question, the person remarked disgustedly, “stick to the script.”

WASHINGTON, DC – DECEMBER 21: Medea Benjamin of CodePink is removed by a secretary personnel as she protests during NRA CEO and Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre’s news conference at the Willard Hotel prior to a news conference the association has scheduled December 21, 2012 in Washington, DC. This is the first public appearance that leaders of the gun rights group have made since a 20-year-old man used a popular assault-style rifle to slaughter 20 school children and six adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, one week ago. Posted on December 21, 2012 at 12:24pmI am telling you libs (useful Idiots) and their manipulators (The Global Elite) that you WILL NEVER TAKE AWAY MY RIGHT TO DEFEND MYSELF !!!!!!
I have carried a gun for 15 years now.
It gives me security and safety at home, on the road, and in precarious places.
It is a FACT
- In countries where guns are outlawed hundreds of thousands of people are murdered with Knives,
Machetes, other blunt objects, and from vicious beatings.
Japan Did not invade America during WWII due to the fact that “there would be a gun behind every blade of grass”
- Before all major genocides, the governments disarmd their people.
- The deadliest Attack on a school in America, was from a bomb.
- Thousands of innocent children in the middle east have died from drone attacks.
- A determined suicidal killer could kill a couple of dozen children in our schools with:
a) Poison in the school lunch
b) A machete / knives / blunt objects, etc
c) A bomb
d) A vehicle on a busy sidewalk right when school lets out.
DO NOT BLAME THE GUN !!!!!
Having an Armed officer at our public schools is a brilliant idea, as the NRA suggested.
The UN wants our guns. China has requested we give up our guns (excuse me?)
Haven’t we had enough of the UN ?
Legally, they (The IMF and World Bank ) are the creditors of this bankrupt Corporation called the ‘United States’, so this matter would have to be resolved.

If they would study history, they would find out who much they resemble those that put Lenin and eventually Stalin in power, or Hitler, or … We have a lot of retired police and soldiers that have the tactical training to provide the necessary security that our children need in these gun free zones. Why not utilize them? This is not an NRA original idea. Many of us legal, and law abiding gun owners have been thinking about this since the tragedy occurred (and before that). We can’t expect every teacher to carry, as not all are comfortable with the idea or with firearms in general, but we can network with our local populace and recruit those that have served and are willing to serve, once more, to protect our children, while the rest of us go to work. Additional laws will fail, as they only affect law abiding citizens. Criminals and mentally unstable people, protected by the ACLU, don’t give a flying rats rear about signs designating gun free zones. To them, that is like an invitation.

The left refuses to look around the globe and see a country as sophisticated as Switzerland that issues every adult a rifle and makes sure that each citizen “qualifies” with that weapon. Where do most wealthy folks put their money for safekeeping? Switzerland is at the top of the heap. You think that they may just know what they’re doing?
Watch carefully as this “fiscal cliff” becomes more onerous as the days fly by. That chaos on Wall Street married with a nationwide port strike possible on 29 Dec 12 could represent the “tipping point” we have all feared. My advice: food, water, guns and (plenty) ammo!

They could hold a press conference of their own, which NRA and second amendment supporters would not interrupt, but then I guess no one would really cover them, then, either.

Posted on December 21, 2012 at 11:35amNo, liberalism and hypocritical leaders and left wing groups push people to the edge to kill innocent. You, my friend are at fault. This is why:
First, look at the movie industry numbing and dumbing kids down. Glorifying guns, horror and sex. Teaching that retaliation and pride is really a good thing. Add in there the schools doing the same thing…feeding kids medications, brain washing and so forth. Couple that in with a generation of brain dead parents and giving their kids anything they want! My goodness, you freaking lefties blame everything on Christianity, yet you deny all of the shows, movies and agendas in your lefty environment that puts kids on a path to destruction. This is your doing!
Parents, it’s time to start being freaking parents again, telling your kids NO! Teaching them what is right and wrong and stop letting the media control how you raise your kids. I really don’t care what people think, but parents need to get back to Biblical principles. The principals of Marxism, yes Marxism, do not work. It’s a feel good man made warped interpretation of the Bible. The Bible’s truths have never changed and teach love and serving others thinking of others first. Parents, it starts with you and you need to find your compass by being directed by God.
Don’t believe me, look at the facts since removing prayer and God from our lives in 1963 and where government has become our god. Look at everything government tries to fix, it eventually makes it worse. So

funny you don’t seem willing to admit that the presence of a firearm in trained and responsible hands could have limited this tragedy… or that he could have used a host of other methods to kill children at that school… maybe you just want to feel morally superior and lash out in your otherwise impotent rage at the horrible unexplainable evil that too often occurs in this world… not that it would change anything.

The only problem with your assertion is that it is simply not true. You have nothing to support it but pure conjecture. The fact of the matter is that people are more likely to be shot by a family member or somebody they know than a case such as Newton. Your gun is more likely to be used by you or somebody close to you to shoot somebody you know than it is to defend yourself. That’s just fact. Based on that putting arms into the hands of somebody they know is actually more likely to produce more incidents.

That’s nice. I was in the inner city school system for my whole life. My high school had police officers, but they did not carry guns, they carried tasers. Yet still they never once had to use them. All of this while I had to hear about how my school had gang fights in the middle of the school day (another blatant lie). There are two reasons for this; the police who acted as security were more than well equipped to handle situations, and we had an excellent guidance counselor (she passed recently) who cared deeply for the students and could talk even some of the craziest people down. So don’t tell me that guns will solve the issue because the assertion isn’t based on facts. The best way to stop a crazy person isn’t intervention it’s prevention.

I’m not against firearms at all. I’m against putting them in schools. My mother is 59 years old taking care of a blind husband and two autistic children in a neighborhood that never had any break-ins until this young couple moved in next door. It would be insane for me to be anti-gun in such a situation. My father however is a pastor so he’s vehemently anti-gun and they can’t have one because there are two autistic children in the home.
Do you know what could have averted this tragedy? Helping the young man before he descended into violence. The signs were obviously there but everybody ignored them. That’s another tragedy in this situation.
I also pray I’m never in such a situation, and pray you also never face it. The difference is that while I mean it sincerely you were being a condescending *****.

It is good that you were not standing in the hall of Sandy Hook when that mad man of a murderer entered that school. You and I can pass along our own personal life experiences all day, and will never get close to anything that happened last Friday. As with other school attacks that go back to the early 1700s when a band of American Indians attacked a Northeastern school killing and scalping ten children there have been far too many attacks on schools with not only firearms. Some with explosives, and some with arson as the weapons. The thing the assailants shared in common was their heart and mindset. That was their most common weapon. And, set about to hit one of the softest targets that still stand across this nation….schools full of children. It was not a gun that made them do it, no more than it was the dynamite, fire, or the knives. It was their brain. From their, they choose the tools to accomplish their evil desires.
