KARACHI, Pakistan (AP) — Police say a mob in southern Pakistan has beaten to death a Muslim man accused of burning a copy of Islam’s holy book, and then set his body afire.
The country’s harsh blasphemy laws allow anyone found guilty of insulting Islam to be sentenced to death, but people also sometimes take such matters into their own hands.
Local police official Bihar-ud-Din said Saturday the mob of about 200 people stormed the police station in the southern town of Dadu on Friday and took the accused man, who they say was not mentally stable and was under questioning.
Din said that police have arrested 30 people for their involvement in the attack, while the head of the local police station and seven officers had been suspended.

Lots of ways of “wiping out” a false religion. You seem to start with the mistaken belief the all religions are “the same” — thus your assumption drives your conclusion. Just because Muslims have “wiping out” Judaism and Christianity on their “to do” list and because force is an acceptable Muslim way, you conclude that a Christian seeking to “wipe out” Islam would consider mass murder or some other “muslimesque” approach.

Folks like The Jerk hold on to isolated anecdotes and historical conditions that predate the GRANDPARENTS of anyone now living as purported “support” for an insipid “they are all the same” position. The Blaze article is not historical and it is not an isolated incident of execution for “blasphemy” in Islamic nations (and even in non-Islamic nations — e.g., Theo Van Gough’s murder). Borrowing money from China to give to Greece as an example is BS. It’s not going to happen the way you want it to whether you’re right or wrong…so we need to make some immediate and hard common sense choices in lieu of that. There should be a very, very few that we donate our hard earned cash to and I believe Israel is probably most deserving… if not the only truly deserving ally at this point. I would also proclaim that India be more deserving of help than Pakistan and stop immediate $$ to Pakistan as a start…
