Salon Columnist Strikes Again: Mass Shootings Related to ‘White Privilege’

Earlier this week, Salon columnist David Sirota told MSNBC’s Chris Hayes that the major issue in school shootings was the fact that so many of them are committed by white people.

“The issue with it will be, politically, I think; the profile is white men. That’s a profile that’s not, essentially, in America allowed to be profiled,” Sirota said at the time. “That’s the one profile in America that’s not allowed to be profiled.”

Now, Sirota is back, this time speaking to CNN’s Don Lemon on the subject of how mass killers might have been influenced by what he calls “white privilege.” Mediaite reports:

Lemon referenced a recent article Sirota had written in which he said if the shooter was a black male, he’d be a labelled a “thug,” or if he was Muslim, he’d be labelled a “terrorist,” but since he’s white, no generalized labels have been thrown about. Sirota stood by his piece and said he hoped the “next time something bad happens,” we don’t “ascribe to entire groups the bad actions of individuals.” The reason we’re not now, he said, is because it’s a form of “white privilege.”

“White privilege” has been a favorite cause celebre of the Left recently, with its attendant implication that all white people enjoy a superior degree of social power to minorities. Certainly, Sirota himself has joined this ideological bandwagon.

“This idea white people are being kept down, that white people are being oppressed – does this have anything to do with this?” Sirota asked. “I think it’s worth asking the question.”

Whites are being trod down with white guilt for not having done enough to free slaves, for not having allowed enough immigrants into the country, or allowing ilegal immigrants the right to vote. Whites are being oppressed in so many ways in this country by the current administration it’s attrocious. Remember the 08 election and th estimulus money- and the WH spokesman came out and said that, ‘No whites need apply for these (stimulus) jobs.’?

  My grandmother came over to the US when she was 4 years old because her father was about to be jailed after eating a squirrel his dog killed.

  Similar story on mom’s side, farm workers, poor, gramps became a sheriff in their small town.
  
  I went to public schools, got bussed through jr high to a school with 700 students and my neighborhood group of 32 whites.
  Didn’t learn a damn thing from the books but got a pretty good lesson in society.
  
  While I made As and Bs, i watched as blacks were made fun of by other students if they did the same.
  Many quit doing it and decided to cut up and act a fool just to “fit in”.
  
  I got a job and got a 2 year degree and followed up with a 4 year degree that the company reimbursed me for.
  After 29 years, I’m still with that company.
  It’s not where I want to be in life but I blame no one other than myself for not leaving and doing something better.

Even those “investigative” crime dramas ya’ll watch profile certain cases as most likely a white male.

  Actually Drive-by’s were perfected by the White Profile of Italian Cosa Nostra. They even made a series of movies about the profile, “The GodFather” it made a lot of money and it showed the minority community that to get what you really want you have to use a gun…. And then the Irish got jealous and joined in and that was the era of the MOB during Prohibition and Bootleg liquor of which Josef Kennedy Sr. made lots of his money in Massachusetts because of his family’s location on the beaches. See, the thing is, race isn’t the biggest issue. It’s just one of several appearance and behavior indicators… The sort of thing cops call intuition. It’s not always right, but it’s better than flipping a coin.

As to the race baiters claiming only whites kill in mass, ask the survivors in Somalia and various other African countries… Genocide is still a risk there, and some mass killing were accomplished by machete…

S., hence ANY immigrant prior to that was here legally.
