Mom of Sandy Hook Child Victim Shares Daughter’s ‘Message From Beyond the Grave’ in Incredibly Moving CNN Interview
Grace McDonnell was one of the 20 children killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School this month. As her parents are grieving the loss of their bright-eyed, seven-year-old daughter, they can take at least some solace in a sign of comfort that she left behind.
Grace was known for leaving messages on the family’s bathroom window — notes and symbols that would show up once fog clouded the room from shower steam. And the day after her death, seemingly on cue, one of these notes appeared to her mother.

On the first day without her daughter, Lynn McDonnell said that the message on the window was a peace sign, Grace’s favorite symbol. Above it were the words, “Grace, Mom.” CNN was moved to call the family’s finding “a message from beyond the grave.”
“I looked and there was her peace sign in the window and I was like, ‘That’s a sign from my Grace,’” Lynn said. ”She was all about peace and gentleness and kindness.”
Lynn described her daughter as immensely happy, claiming, “She was just the light and love of our family.”

Posted on December 27, 2012 at 11:24amI cannot believe the amount of comments posted criticising these parents and accusing them of faking/acting. Yes, there actuallly are people whose faith is strong enough to pull them through a tragedy like this without sobbing uncontrollably for all the world to see. I’ve known several people like this, and I envy their capacity to to still find happiness in the memories of their loved ones and using that energy to propel them forward. They know, of a surety, that they will see their loved one again, and even though they will miss them terribly, they trust in God’s plan and take comfort knowing the one they’ve lost is safe with Him. Just because you can’t comprehend their strength and composure doesn’t mean it is not real. In truth, you envy them, because the thought of going through a loss like that terrifies you, and that can only mean one thing — your faith is not as strong as you want it to be. Instead of judging these people who’ve just sustained a terrible loss, how about you take some time to work on strengthening your relationship with the Savior, so you too can move forward bravely when/if tragedy strikes you so personally. Rant over.

Posted on December 26, 2012 at 1:21pmYa’ll down below don’t get it. Grief and irrepressible despair happens behind closed doors. It is not taking place in front of you. It is unspeakable and you will not get the words for it.
Having lost the lights of my life tragically I can tell you. The most wonderful Mother/daughter team anyone could ever have the privilege and honor of sharing company with. It rips you apart from the inside out. Your soul is ripped from your being. It is pounded and thrown on the tracks before a freight train where it is repeatedly struck by a 10,000 horsepower, 200,000 ton locomotive again and again without end. This while burning in boiling tar. You know that it will never ever ever end. Never.
THEN- You realize that every moment you had with them was a gift of immensity. An unspeakable gift on the other side where no one can every know that either. You cannot explain what consoles you. You are as alone as you will ever be, You have nothing left. You don’t even have the possibility that you can still have your child’s sister because the mother of your child is gone. You are alone, The one person that could console you is GONE! Get it? Didn’t think so. So give these peop,e a break for “not responding the way YOU think they should”. It is not about YOU. The last thing on their mind is putting on a show to comfort YOU.
They fully well know they are in the throws of a tragedy that will change their lives forever. Every dream- GONE! Every vision – GONE.

Posted on December 26, 2012 at 1:29pmThey will celebrate their child’s life that was. The dreams they had that were not to be can still replace the grief, moment by moment with the feeling of what those dreams brought them, They have that to fall back on the tether what is left of their soul, before it falls into the abyss of darkness. The last thing they need is people rubber necking the tragedy in rapt fascination of what grief might be displayed for the viewing enjoyment of the general public..
Consider that they have the right to get through it any way they can contrive. That they have no responsibility to follow a script for YOU. That it is THEY that are in the room, and not the other way around.

Posted on December 25, 2012 at 8:02pmThese parents have deep faith in God and they don’t want to have hatred in their hearts so because they don’t sit and bawl some of you think their feelings are weird. We don’t live with them so we have no idea how many tears they shed each and every day or night while alone. I think they told this story with allot of grace, no pun intended. They loved their daughter and I got that from watching this video. I wouldn’t want to be in their shoes or any of the 19 other families shoes. This was the most horrific murder I personally have ever heard of in America. Please don’t judge people because that uou have never met, it’s very unfair to them.

Posted on December 26, 2012 at 1:46pmNeedless and senseless. But it does not go unnoticed that these horrific assaults happen in schools.
Why is that? Does “school” represent the place and the moments where these attackers learned of despair? think about it. There is a deep rooted strategy to instill despair in our children. It is a progressive strategy to raise a generation of disaffects that they can turn into their “Youth civil ‘defense’ force”. A force that defends progressive/marxist ideals. It’s ion the manual. Make no mistake about that. That these horrific events are directed at schools tells us where the hostility is directed. A byproduct of liberal indoctrination that teaches kids that the system is rigged, they have no hope in it. that they need something else but definitely not that evil system where they have rights and control over their lives.
THAT is what’s really going on here. And in true alinsky fashion the leftwing lunatic radicals deflect their handiwork as the work of those that would rebel from “the collective:”. Those “outdated Constitutional Conservatives” are to blame, in true alinsky radical finger point fashion. It’s all in the manual.
It’s all about HOW we got here and WHY we got here, and WHO brought us here.

Posted on December 25, 2012 at 9:17amIt’s hard to figure. Some people experience loss in different ways from others. If this evil federal government was in any way responsible (as has been already alleged), then we are truly ruled by heartless monsters, Obama being the foremost amongst them.

Posted on December 25, 2012 at 1:46amI find it interested that CIA Anderson Cooper cares and wants to show respect to these families but he wants to target, harass and engage in the material support of terrorism through US media at peaceful American citizens who support the Tea Party and US Constitution.

Posted on December 25, 2012 at 12:48amEvery one grieves in their own way but something seems amiss here.
Maybe they are at some level of disassociation from their new reality but the mother never stopped smiling as if she just sent her child to summer camp.
Let’s not try to smooth over the fact that an evil mad man has murdered so many innocent young people.

Posted on December 25, 2012 at 12:39amA lot of what has been coming out in all of this is VERY strange. The behavior of a lot of the parents and family members as well. I know I would not want to be interviewed for a VERY long time after having lost a child. I would be alternating between severe grief and breaking things constantly. I certainly would not want the eye of ANY camera on my face and I know I would kick the teeth in of any reporter who violated my privacy during a moment of severe stress and grief such as this one. So to see video of family members giving interviews and speeches from note cards or laughing in a jokingly manner is just strange. But then again the world, especially in America, has become incredibly strange and senseless… so who knows.
