Twitter Shuts Down Accounts After Hackers Expose Images of Child Abuse

Twitter shut down at least half a dozen accounts after they were revealed to contain disturbing images of child abuse, according to a report in the Daily Mail.

Graphic pictures became public last night after “hacking groups claimed to have broken into private accounts to expose their indecent content, ” the newspaper reported, citing the NSPCC, a British charity devoted to ending cruelty to children in the U.K.

The Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP) also received about 30 reports of similar images relating to at least four Twitter accounts, the Daily Mail reported, adding that it remains unclear whether the images were distributed by British users of Twitter or from outside the country. The nationality of the children in the images also is unknown.

The cases will be investigated in the U.S., where Twitter is based. Twitter is required by law to send details of any accounts containing indecent images of children to the U.S.-based National Center for Missing and Exploited Children NCMEC), which will ”forward information for investigation to law enforcement agencies in the relevant country where the user is believed to be based, or children believed to be at risk,” a spokesperson for the CEOP told the Daily Mail.

Twitter has apparently issued a response to anyone contacting the company over the images of alleged abuse, according to the Daily Mail. This reads: “We do not tolerate child pornography on Twitter. When we are made aware of such images they will be removed from the site without further notice.”

Just wait. facebook is going to allow teens or anyone else to sext each other with nude pix of one another, with the promise of privacy, even from their Parents. A sick Country gets even sicker.

Aint nothing wrong with child abuse to libs because they hate children remember? They try to kill all of them they can before they are born because the more resorces that goes to children thats the less free govt. stuff that could be going to them. They are very selfish people. As far as libs are concerened babies and kids eat to much pee and poop to much make to much noise and they are just to bad on the enviroment.

  Add to that the UK has incorporated ‘death paths’ into their socialistic healthcare, the same one that Obama has modeled his own healthcare scheme after. The UK allows its chronically ill and terminally ill children—and adults—to die by starving and dehydrating them while in hospital. No kidding. Google it.

Well In my little opinion anyone who ‘twitters’ or is on my page or my face or whatever those teen-age websites are if they are over the age of 20 they need to grow-up for Gods sake. Why would anyone in their right mind put theirselves out there like that. I barley like doing this, and I will for a cpl more weeks and be gone again for another year or so. I havent yet gotten over the shock of the election. Its not east realizing that the once greatest nation on earth is now barley worth living in. If only the men (and women to of course) who gave-up their young lives for about 25 or so yrs. of freedoms they would have stayed home and not tossed their lives down the crapper for virtually nothing. Imagine that, they were cashin in their lives for threats from the outside for us only to be taken-over by the very people who live here, or shall I say are allowed to live here now a days. Could anyone have imagined who fought in WW-2 that just 40 to 50 yrs. later they would be a skeleton in a grave just so people can bust through our gates from other countries and say “OK Im here and your gonna feed me, clothe me, put me up in a home and pay for my medical care just because I said you are gonna. And if you dont like it I will sue you and win! And Im not even a citizen HA HA HA !”

A person can put images on twitter? I thought it was only for text. (Okay, I have never used twitter and don’t really know the first thing about it. But really. I thought it was only to follow every fart, squeak and whistle someone wants to tweet, twit or whatever about, in text form).

This is definitely something left and right can agree on… I am all for second chances but these people, and i use that term loosely, are a plague on society. Technology and the internet have just given these twisted individuals a way to communicate with eachother. I guess all great discoveries will have a downside as well.

  Spent time in Nam, lost many friends there, spent 36 years in law enforcement, seen almost every sick thing you can imagine and still managed to turn everything into something funny. The ones that can’t force their sense of humor out need help. Yes, humor is sometimes forced. It’s just one of the emotions God gave us to deal with life. I have never forgotten that this is just a test. AND I plan on winning.
