White House Petition to Deport Piers Morgan Over Anti-Gun Views Hits 31,900

LONDON (TheBlaze/AP) — Remember that Piers Morgan petition we told you about? You know — the one seeking his deportation? Now, more than 31,400 people have signed in support, calling for the British CNN host to be sent away from the U.S. over his gun-control views.
Morgan has taken an aggressive stand for tighter U.S. gun laws in the wake of the Newtown, Conn., school shooting. Last week, he called a gun advocate appearing on his “Piers Morgan Tonight” show an “unbelievably stupid man.”
Now, gun-rights activists are fighting back. A petition created Dec. 21 on the White House e-petition website by a user in Texas accuses Morgan of engaging in a “hostile attack against the U.S. Constitution” by targeting the Second Amendment and demands he be deported immediately.

The petition has already hit the 25,000 signature threshold to get a White House response. By Monday, it had 31,430 signatures.
Morgan seemed unfazed — and even amused — by the movement.
In a series of Twitter messages, he alternately urged his followers to sign the petition and in response to one article about the petition said “bring it on” as he appeared to track the petition’s progress.
“If I do get deported from America for wanting fewer gun murders, are there any other countries that will have me?” he wrote.

If we deny this right to him, how long would it take before the left denied us ours? Give the left enough rope, maybe they’ll hang themselves.

Posted on December 24, 2012 at 2:53pm#1 All men are created equal.
This means that yes, even Piers Morgan has 1st Amendment protections. It doesn’t state that all men are equal only if they are an US citizen.
#2 Just because he is covered under the 1st Amendment doesn’t mean his visa can’t be revoked. He is a guest of our country. As the people of this country we do in fact have the right to say who is welcomed and who has overstayed their welcome. We are not talking about jailing this man, that would be a violation of his 1st amendment rights. We are simply demanding he go back home. Rather we are saying, you don’t have to go home, but you can’t stay here. Now, if he is making a case of political asylum because the gun laws he preaches about has led to a rise in violent crime back home so therefore he feels threatened, then we can consider providing such asylum. But remember, he has no right to be here, he is only here because we have welcomed him; and we have every right to tell him to leave for any reason we want as we are a sovereign country. Unwelcoming him is in no violation of any of his rights as a man. If he is offended by that, he should have thought about that before offending the American constitution.

Posted on December 24, 2012 at 3:30pmExcuse me? He is not an American is he? He is a British Citizen as far as I know. So, he is in this country as a “guest worker” so he should keep his trap shut or we will send him back to his land. His British Constitution covers him. Our Constitution covers American citizens born here and naturalized here. He is not in that category. When you come here to work you need to shut your trap and fall in line. How do I make this petition read 31, 901?

Probably none that value freedom. Of course, Engrund will probably take him since they have the same views.
As for his right to free speech- he sure has every right we have: freedom of speech, press, self defense, et al.
What he doesn’t have is the right to tell us how to live our lives and run our country or get involved in our politics. If he wants to live and work here, he has the right to a green card, but that doesn’t give him voting privileges or the right to denounce our government.
As for calling us names, he has that right as well. Even if he is a POS Limey with no more brains than a box of rocks.

When the first Amendment was brought up it covers the speech we don’t like as well as the speech we do like. I do not like or respect this em-basil but while here he does have the right to say what he chooses as long as he is not inciting riots or violence and even then you have to ask one question; When it is time to yell the redcoats are coming when our govt turns completely on us what will your punishment be for speaking about taking to arms?” We have to very careful people. Posted on December 24, 2012 at 8:29amOkay, while many here will disagree with me on this special subject. I must point out that the 1st Amendment protects speech that may not be popular. I feel that the right to free speech is a right bestowed upon all in this country, and even the despicable Piers Morgan. I certainly do not care for much of anything he says or does, but I still say that he has his right to say it. This petition I see just as much of an over reaction as ENCINOM’s simpleton rants regarding the 2nd Amendment. It does appear as though the Supreme Court disagrees with you ENCINOM. Okay, back to Piers, if anybody is going to complain about him and wants it to count. Contact CNN, his employer. Remind them of the shay ground they are already on. CNN is in no position to lose another single viewer.

We do seem to be in agreement here, along with another post well above who has said just about the same thing. I suppose that explains the truly low numbers for such a petition. Of all of the conservatives in the nation it seems now that only a little over 32,000 have had such a knee jerk reaction to Morgan. While it would not bother me to see him leave the country, and hopefully there would be a CNN camera crew appropriately at the Atlanta Airport to see Piers board a Delta aircraft. Those militant crews will stuff him in a toilet the moment he complains about his empty Champagne glass. Now, that much I could see myself wishing for him. But, as far as I am concerned he can do this for himself, or as CNN sees fit, they can end his employment. But, he can have his 1st Amendment rights…..until he lands in his own country.

Posted on December 24, 2012 at 11:37amI personally can’t stand Piers Morgan’s smarmy face and I do disagree with him 1,000% on this gun control issue, and pretty much every other issue for that matter. That said, one of the main reasons that the 1st Amendment was created in the first place was that so people could speak out against the government without fear of being punished or censored. Were we to deport Morgan for speaking his mind then we would really be no better than some 18th Century redcoat flogging a colonist for trash-talking King George.
Free speech doesn’t need to be protected when it comes to popular statements. It’s the unpopular, rage-inducing statements that need to be protected the most; and to see so-called conservatives seeking to undermine one of our most fundamental freedoms absolutely repels me. If we could deport someone for exercising the 1st Amendment then a very small leap remains in punishing citizens for exercising their 1st Amendment rights. Do we really want to see conservatives being thrown in jail for calling Nancy Pelosi a moron? How about people being thrown in jail for being Christian?
Think about it rationally for two seconds, people.
