DC Police Investigating NBC’s David Gregory for Possible Gun Law Violation

Police in Washington DC are investigating whether NBC’s David Gregory violated the city’s gun law when he held up a high-capacity magazine for ammunition during Sunday’s episode of Meet the Press.

D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier confirmed to Breitbart that her department is “investigating the incident to determine if the magazine was in fact real.”

In D.C., it is illegal to possess “any large capacity ammunition feeding device regardless of whether the device is attached to a firearm.” NBC’s Meet the Press is usually taped in DC.

Gregory pulled out the magazine while interviewing National Rifle Association CEO Wayne LaPierre about gun legislation following the Dec. 14 elementary school shooting in Newtown, Conn.

A petition to “press charges against David Gregory for possession of a 30-round, high capacity assault rifle magazine in Washington D.C.” was submitted to the White House and currently has more than 6,000 signatures. If 25,000 signatures are received by Jan. 22, 2013, then the White House will be required to respond.

But, really, let’s fight for this Liberal’s U.S. Constitutional right to not only “possess any large capacity ammunition feeding device regardless of whether the device is attached to a firearm” without the “approval” of any government agency, but to possess that firearm AS WELL !!

I don’t support the stupidity of the law he violated by being in possession of a harmless piece of metal so I will not spout about what penalty he should receive. Those of you who are doing that and don’t want laws like that to stop you from owning a 30 rd magazine are being just as hypocritical as he is by his possessing something he doesn’t want us to have. Think about it.

Remember, the murder rate is six per 100,000 per year, and the aggravated assault rate is four per 1,000 per year. What this means is that the vast majority of Americans are not inclined to hurt one another.

Time an again, we see wicked monsters like this who do the killing. The ******** will in turn, clamor about taking guns (or magazines) away from the law abiding. Check the backgrounds of all these recent shooters, and you see them being heavily tied to violent video games, mental instability, and a school system that no longer teaches right from wrong, but embraces humanism (if it feels good do it)

In a short while, Glennda, Encinom, Publius pencil, VotenBush, and other liberal idiots will get one here, and cry out for guns to be taken.

None will talk of removing the ten commandments from public school, violetn video gams, abortion, rap music, black on black violence that now makes up 50% of our murder rate…..

They will flap their jaws about taking guns away from citizens, ignoring our Bill of Rights, and ignoring facts, history, and statistics.

read the following study from Harvard and enlighten yourself to the reality that getting rid of guns means more crime, not less.

      http://www.law.harvard.edu/students/orgs/jlpp/Vol30_No2_KatesMauseronline.pdf

The MSM never even proved that the recent shooter used high capacity mags. As a matter of fact, for the first three days, we were told that he used two pistols, and that an AR was found in the back seat of his car? Then the coroner declared all wounds to have been made by a rifle.

Why has the MSM not researched this, done interviews to find out what story is true?

The MSM is not concerned with truth, they are the mouthpiece for Obama and socialists, and they desire to disarm the public. you can not take the Bible, until your first take the guns.

your comment – “the NRA is drowning the nation in the blood of gun victims”

Show me one crime in the US, were the shooter was an NRA member? How about a 4H shooter, CMP shooter?

Blacks make up 12.5% of the population, but do half of the nations murders. If we lowered black murder rates to the same as whites, then we would lower the nations murder rate by almost 40% and save a whole lot of black lives.

Why will you not discuss black on black violence?

Let us talk about Kevin Jennings????

Jennings was Obama’s pick for safe school czar. His claim to fame is teaching homosexuality to school age children. How well did that work out? Did it stop any school violence?

America owns 88 guns per 100 citizens, but there are 25 nations in the world with higher murder stats.

Honduras owns 6.6 guns per 100 citizens but has the highest murder rates in the world.

Keep it real, because if you will not, then I will.

They will find something that cannot be challenged because that part of the magazine was not shown. The DC police will play along and all will be forgotten and forgiven.
Mr. LaPierre should have been ready for this, as well as pointing out that David Gregory’s kids go to a school with armed guards (Sidwell Friends) These guards are in addition to the Secret Service, who are carrying AUTOMATIC weapons to protect the Obama’s kids.

The school is now considered a killing zone by terrorists and they are considering an attack at any moment… That is the thinking of the liberal elite that the potential “RISK” of citizens owning firearms is to great a burden for the current society to bear. Yes I was thinking about how weird it was to see the petitions showing up. Further destruction of USA unity and an additional divisiveness tool to use against the American people.

NBC has probably already been registered as its own Country or something similar for years giving its building and staff diplomatic immunity.

I really wouldn’t be surprised by anything at this point in time.

Hi MONK, I know that this will not go anywhere, and is basically for show. But, you have to admit that it is funny.

      Hi RJJ,

Oh yeah, I hope DG is not covered and NBC turns their back on him.

I live on the MA NH boarder………If I drive into MA with so much as a casing, empty mag, or even part of a mag. I could easily get a year in jail. This hypocritical pos should be subject to the same laws. I have to know witch back roads and highways even touch MA. If I get pulled over and have anything on me I’m toast. David Greagory broke the law……….He Must Pay. As I would in his place.

Maybe now, he might understand how hard it is to keep up with all of the stupid laws that are already in place.

I’m no fan of Gregory’s but how can he be guilty of violating an illegal law? Every ‘gun law’ in DC and every state for that matter is unconstitutional so I don’t see how he could be in violation of an illegal law.
Just because the lawbreakers in DC got together and created a law doesn’t mean it’s constitutional.

You’re correct. BUT, we could use this as a lesson for those who believe more gun laws are what is needed. If D.C. will prosecute this man for having something illegal, it just points out the stupidity of gun laws.

They won’t do a thing about it. He and the democrats are above the law. Liars, cheats and criminals, the entire bunch of them.

I am sure David Gregory and NBC are “above the law”. This will be a non event. Only blacks and poor whites get busted by the D.C. police.
