Governor Names Lt. Gov. Brian Schatz Successor for Hawaii Senator Daniel Inouye

Longtime congressman and current Democratic Governor of Hawaii, Neil Abercrombie, will appoint Lt. Gov. Brian Schatz to fill Hawaii’s open seat in the U.S. Senate that had been held by Daniel Inouye for a half century, reports the Associated Press.

Inouye, 88, died last week and the Hawaii Democratic Party central committee had narrowed down their choice for an appointee to finish the Senator’s term ending in 2014 to three finalists; Rep. Colleen Hanabusa, State Department of Land and Natural Resources Deputy Director Esther Kia’aina and Schatz.

The choice comes as a surprise, as it had been reported that Inouye requested that Hanabusa be his replacement in a letter to the governor before his death.

ABC’s Honolulu affiliate KITV reports that Schatz served for eight years as the CEO of Helping Hands Hawwaii before being elected to lieutenant governor in 2010. From 1998 to 2006 Schatz was a member of the Hawaii house of Representatives, serving as House Majority Whip, Chair of the Economic Development Committee, Vice-Chair of Water, Land and Ocean Resources, Vice-Chair of Consumer Protection and Commerce, and as a member of the Hawaiian Affairs, Higher Education, Energy and Environmental Protection, and Agriculture Committees. Schatz was raised in Hawaii and graduated from Pomona College in Claremont, CA.

Something stinks here. First, Abercrombie never did an honest thing in his life that wasn’t motivated by the party or socialism (I know, redundant but..). Abercrombie has been pulling strings for Obama now for several years, and I believe left congress just in time to come back to be Gov of Hawaii to protect Obama from the B.C. police. (Who leaves Congress to become a governor???)
Second Who the heck is Brian Schatz? Well amazingly he looks a lot like Obama. Don’t think so? Well don’t judge a book by it’s cover. I think this is an Obama pick. Take a look at his Wikipedia Bio:
“Schatz was two years old when his family relocated to Hawaii, and while there he attended Punahou School. He later earned a B.A. in Philosophy from Pomona College in Claremont, California. While at Pomona, Schatz spent a term studying in Kenya as part of the International Training Program, where he developed skills in public service. After returning to Hawaii, Schatz taught at Punahou School before moving into the non-profit sector.”
So, he is a privileged Punahou kid, not born in Hawaii, who spent time in Kenya and works in social services-community organizing. No experience in anything truly capitalistic – Professional Politician. Yep, just like Obama. And suddenly this nobody is so important that he earns a ride to Washington on Air Force One. Wonder how many times he had to pledge allegiance to Obama on the ride to the mainland?

hawaii gets what it deserves with the way they vote, They even have a guy that trys to make Hawaii think he is really part hawaiian and hawaii is so lame they revoted obama (the first faux black president) into office again (lol) Wait till they start getting all their benefits cut(lol) Most of the Island is on welfare!!

Only a narcisscism would expect he could control a Senate seat from his grave.

This guy was first elected to Congress in 1959, on the day Hawaii was admitted to the union, and he’s held a seat there since Eisenhower was President. He is the poster child for term limits!
