This Perfect Christmas Gift Gets 7-Year-Old Boy So Excited He Cries: ‘I’m So Happy Daddy’

Christmas morning brings joy to many families across the world, as presents are unwrapped around the tree and cheer is spread. But for one 7-year-old boy in Union Town, N.J., the excitement of Christmas literally brought him to tears.

Reese Mazza was overwhelmed after he ripped the wrapping paper off of a video game called Tank! Tank! Tank!, the one he wanted so badly.

“I’m so happy Daddy, I’m so happy,” the boy told his dad, Phil, who later posted the video on YouTube.

But Reese’s smile quickly turned into tears of joy as the experience was just too much to handle.

“I’m so happy, I’m so happy,” the little boy repeated.

“I’ve never seen a little boy do that before,” his father says in the video.

    At home we had a more meager amount of loot due to some personal economic challenges (aka unemployment). However we had good harmony and many fun activities. Many said privately it was the best Christmas they remember.

Just because you’re “unemployed”, i.e., a lazy loser probably on the government dole, don’t knock the rest of us out here who are working our @$$3$ off to support the likes of you AND give our children nice gifts. Strange, I’ve been playing violent video games since I was about 13 years old (now 36) and I played Borderlands 2 last night but I have yet to go out and commit violence against my fellow man — or any animal for that matter.
      I also saw Django Unchained but I have no urge to “kill a bunch of white people” (or black people).
      I have seen all the Saw movies but I don’t feel the need to torture anyone in the name of righteousness.
      I did also see Les Miserable and it did bring a tear to my eye and a lump in my throat. Does that make me a French Revolutionaries?

      I must agree with truesoundsofliberty, I am one of those people who loves a good horror film, but also loves my bible. Although I’ve never played a “violent” video game or barely any at all. I think most pple know the difference between right and wrong. In most horror films there is a lesson to be learned, in the bible some of the stories are very frightening but there is a lesson. I am not comparing the two, all I am saying is if you have a good foundation, nothing on earth can lead you down the path of evil. If you haven’t read C.S Lewis The Screwtape Letters, it is an excellent read.

      thanks for correction on the typo.

      @Truesoundsofliberty

      I get from your response that you like poorly designed video games, incredibly bad acting, screenplay writing, direction, in essence bad movies and you like to be spoon fed what you think is culture. You may not feel compelled to do anything violent….right now. The only thing constant is change. You know every time some horrible shooting or killing occurs there is always that person that says I’d never believe he/she could do such a thing. Might I suggest that you read “The Gods will have Blood”. It will open your eyes as to the horror of the Reign or Terror.

      @ betterpart

      I know but the fact remains December 25th is the traditional day to celebrate the birth of Christ.

      @toomuchgovt

      I really cannot see your point. If you want to blatantly disobey the advise given in the Bible as to what the Christian is to read/see/ponder, I cannot stop you. That is on your head when standing at the throne of judgement.

      @leftfighter

      I don’t see your point either. The verse is taken out of context. One can prove just about anything when comments are taken out of context whether it is the Bible or any other book. It says a sword, though, and not a violent video game for a child.

      You all missed my point entirely. A kid is overcome with emotion to the point of tears about a violent VIDEO GAME.

      Does that really not bother any of you at all?

    Cute kid.
    His family were pretty much making fun of him for crying. They kept asking him why he was crying. He’s only 7. He didn’t know how to express his feelings. He needed a hug, and some understanding.

    Most kids would give you a hug and say thank you.
    I don’t think he was ever taught how to verbally or physically express thanks, so crying was the only outlet he had.

      The kid wasn’t crying because he was “so happy.” He cried out of sheer relief from all the pent-up frustration, when he opened the first present and it didn’t turn out to be the one he wanted so badly. Notice he was praying and trying (bravely) to pretend he liked it. When he got his dream video game, the boy was overjoyed and laughed. It was after that initial cry of joy that all the pent-up fear overwhelmed him. The poor kid was so embarrassed he turned away from the camera, but he did express his joy with his words, despite the tears. I actually think he dealt with his emotions quite well for a 7-year old.

      Last year I bought my then 11-year old son a used lap-top, in good condition, that was running XP. Paid $80 for the thing off CL. Upgraded the RAM, OS, and added a wireless antenna. It was absolutely the last thing he was expecting: His first computer. He was so overcome with surprise that his eyes welled up and he was visibly shaken. To me it was an old boat-anchor of a dinosaur. To him it meant that he knew I trusted him, and that now he could do his schoolwork on his own computer, instead of having to use mom or dad’s at their convenience. To him it was golden.

      On same boat as you. I do remember hearing a story that touched my heart though. A missionary I know that goes to haiti 3-4 times a year was helping build a house while they were cutting the wood a small block of the wood fell to the ground and a kid picked up the block and was acting like it was a car driving through the saw dust . It made the kid so happy to have his “imaginary car” that he was tore up over that and crying happily. amazing differance there.

      The kid is seven, and if he gets really scared about not getting the present he fervently PRAYED for, he *can* cry when he does. It’s easy to make even the most spiritual child cry over a toy. IMO this “scare” was harmless and could actually lead to some great dad-son bonding, and a playful lesson on manly patience. :)

      I agree, I found it more pathetic than cute. Worse even are the parents who, instead of being embarrassed at their seven year old bawling like he just sprang from the womb over a silly video game, decided to share it with the world on the internet. Maybe kids with a total lack of control over their emotions are cute when they’re seven, not so much when they’re 17. Makes me wonder how the kid will react when something comes along that’s actually worth crying about.

      I don’t think so. These stories won’t change my life, and won’t keep me away from reality or the fact that there is happiness also on this world. It’s the headline and the age of the kids. Is a kind gesture just for this week, and just in case. It is to do something even small for people you don’t know personally. I don’t know you, but I’m sure that a parent just trying to do something different that crying all day long, and suddenly reading that headline will broke again for the rest of the night….

      This is the kind of news we need amidst stories of kids, firefighters being shot and various murders reported daily on the local and national news.

      Stories like this show that no matter how bad the world is, the emotion of love as displayed by a small child can bring one back to the realization of the fact that Christmas is about giving. I’m not sure what the game consists of but the word “Tank” suggests some kind of war game but if the child was overjoyed with it and the parents remind him of the fact that it is just a game and not real life, then it was worth it.
