Because of the holidays, you might have missed the anti-gun blog post posted by Michael Moore on Christmas Eve. But if you’re a gun fan, it’s worth knowing what he said — if only to understand what the other side is clamoring for. So we’ve decided to excerpt the most inflammatory comments from it.

First, a quick overview from CNSNews:

Documentary-maker and liberal activist Michael Moore said the reason for mass shootings in the United States is largely due to fear and racism, and on Christmas Eve he pleaded, “calm down, white people, and put away your guns.”

In ablog post entitled “Celebrating the Prince of Peace in the Land of Guns,” while still calling for stricter gun-control laws, Moore said such laws will not stop mass killings because of “who we are” as a nation.

And now the excerpts (all emphasis added):

1. We’ll start off with an unexpected one (to some, at least).

To be fair, Moore does claim that even though strict gun laws have reduced gun crimes in some areas, they haven’t eliminated them — and in fact, the laws wouldn’t have prevented the Newtown massacre. So you might be wondering: Why are you including that in the ‘most inflammatory’ post?Well, because as Moore admits, liberals won’t like to hear it:

[More gun laws and bans] won’t really bring about an end to these mass slayings and it will not address the core problem we have. Connecticut had one of the strongest gun laws in the country. That did nothing to prevent the murders of 20 small children on December 14th.

In fact, let’s be clear about Newtown: the killer had no criminal record so he would never have shown up on a background check. All of the guns he used were legally purchased. None fit the legal description of an “assault” weapon. The killer seemed to have mental problems and his mother had him seek help, but that was worthless. As for security measures, the Sandy Hook school was locked down and buttoned up BEFORE the killer showed up that morning. Drills had been held for just such an incident. A lot of good that did.

And here’s the dirty little fact none of us liberals want to discuss: The killer only ceased his slaughter when he saw that cops were swarming onto the school grounds – i.e, the men with the guns. When he saw the guns a-coming, he stopped the bloodshed and killed himself. Guns on police officers prevented another 20 or 40 or 100 deaths from happening. Guns sometimes work. (Then again, there was an armed deputy sheriff at Columbine High School the day of that massacre and he couldn’t/didn’t stop it.)

2. “We are a country whose leaders officially sanction and carry out acts of violence as a means to often an immoral end. We invade countries who didn’t attack us. We’re currently using drones in a half-dozen countries, often killing civilians.”

3. “There is a level of arrogance in the otherwise friendly American spirit, conning ourselves into believing there’s something exceptional about us that separates us from all those “other” countries (there are indeed many good things about us; the same could also be said of Belgium, New Zealand, France, Germany, etc.). We think we’re #1 in everything when the truth is our students are 17th in science and 25th in math, and we’re 35th in life expectancy. We believe we have the greatest democracy but we have the lowest voting turnout of any western democracy. We’re biggest and the bestest at everything and we demand and take what we want.”

4. “And sometimes we have to be violent m*****f*****s to get it. But if one of us goes off-message and shows the utterly psychotic nature and brutal results of violence in a Newtown or an Aurora or a Virginia Tech, then we get all “sad” and “our hearts go out to the families” and presidents promise to take “meaningful action.” Well, maybe this president means it this time. He’d better. An angry mob of millions is not going to let this drop.”

5. “While we are discussing and demanding what to do, may I respectfully ask that we stop and take a look at what I believe are the three extenuating factors that may answer the question of why we Americans have more violence than most anyone else: [...]

[...] “FEAR/RACISM. We’re an awfully fearful country considering that, unlike most nations, we’ve never been invaded. (No, 1812 wasn’t an invasion. We started it.) Why on earth would we need 300 million guns in our homes? I get why the Russians might be a little spooked (over 20 million of them died in World War II). But what’s our excuse? Worried that the Indians from the casino may go on the warpath? Concerned that the Canadians seem to be amassing too many Tim Horton’s donut shops on both sides of the border?

“No. It’s because too many white people are afraid of black people. Period. The vast majority of the guns in the U.S. are sold to white people who live in the suburbs or the country. When we fantasize about being mugged or home invaded, what’s the image of the perpetrator in our heads? Is it the freckled-face kid from down the street – or is it someone who is, if not black, at least poor?”

6. “Well, there’s some food for thought as we head home for the holidays. Don’t forget to say hi to your conservative brother-in-law for me. Even he will tell you that, if you can’t nail a deer in three shots – and claim you need a clip of 30 rounds – you’re not a hunter my friend, and you have no business owning a gun.”

It’s obvious the point was to be controversial. But do you think Moore went too far?

  ..If true why do white shooters almost always kill white people vs 83% of black murder victims have a black killer?…a guy in the movies must be aware of “Projection”…chubs has some internal issues to work out…almost all of us don’t give a damn about race any more..it’s your daddy’s problem and a few poverty pimps and white supremacists…I have a gun because the police are 15 minutes away..I also have hoses on all my exterior hose bibs…but I have a fire Dept….I suspect the chances my using my gun are much less then a house fire…but I kinda prepare for both and fixate on neither…

  Black Americans make up 12.5% of the total population, but do half of the nation’s murders. If we could lower black murder rates to the same as whites, we would drop the nation’s murder rate by almost 40%
  
  Per year in America, over the past 15 years, on average there are between 10 to 40 black women raped by white men. During that same period of time, black men rape between 50 to 100 white women a day. That is a very significant statistic, but fat boy and the MSM will not mention it. I would say such a statistic give reason for people to fear.
  
  Do you think fat boy knows that there are 14.82 murders per 100K by blacks versus 2.17 per 100K for whites?

  Blacks are seven times more likely than people of other races to commit murder, and eight times more likely to commit robbery.
  
  Blacks are three times more likely to use a hand gun, and twice more likely to use a knife.
  
  The best indicator of violent crime levels in an area is the percent of the population that is black and Hispanic
  
  Forty-five percent of black crime is against whites, 43 against other blacks, and 10 percent against Hispanic.

  We count all of the crap that is of school age. They are there just to take up space and the non citizen that do not belong in our schools that we pay for. “WE” think it’s more important to teach them to be gay or teach them to have abortions or give them condoms

If whites had guns to protect themselves from blacks, would we not see whites with guns shooting up students in black schools? Would we not see more white on black shootings? There are more blacks killing blacks than whites killing blacks. By our current shooting results of mass shootings, I have more fear of whites.

Michael Moore is irrelevant. He has always been irrelevant. What this man says only makes him look like a fool and we know what the Bible says about fools. He is to be mocked and ridiculed and mostly ignored. He just another ARROGANT ELITIST with a stick up his A$$.

  Well giving that black on white crime is 26 times as common than white on black crime…One can only conclude that whites want guns for protect from blacks not to rob,rape and kill them …..WHY DO DO BLACKS WANT GUNS? To protect them from blacks.
  Someone should tell moore the hut that that 3 times as many blacks are killed by other blacks in one year than were killed by lynchings in 60 years.

They have all attacked us via terrorism or state support of terrorism.

My openly regret is that Gaddaffi was removed. To the best of my knowledge after 2003 he came clean & was no longer a threat to the U.S.

Assad was so busy f/cking us I am surprised that he didn’t catch half a dozens venereal diseases.

Our snipers had steady business along the Iraq-Syrian border.

How many black people live in the suburbs or the country, Michael? And how many MURDERS are committed by those white people? Compare that to the murder rate by black people of black people in the ‘hood, particularly Chicago. None of those guns are legal, Chicago proper has extremely strict gun laws and the murder rate among black teens on the south side is greater than that of the American soldiers killed in Afghanistan. Perhaps, Michael, you’re looking at the wrong “problem” as the problem, and perhaps there is good reason to be afraid of “black people” given the facts.

  Michael Moore reminds me of the Mike Myers character ‘fat bastard’ in Austin Powers films. Moore doesn’t need a gun to protect himself againt breakins at his house.   If you want more info about Mike Moore, I think, many years ago, someone did MM’s (sometimes you feel like a nut, If it’s Michael Moore you don’t) autobiography.   Several of them, ex-navy seals packing heat to protect him. I live in Traverse City Mi where he resides and when he walks down the street they have to ask people to walk on the other side of the street to make room for him,. His favorite hangout is Potter’s, the best bakery in town.
