Those who’ve listened to C-SPAN’s live call-in shows with particular guests know that occasionally people call in with questions or comments that, from a certain perspective, might strain reasonability. Certainly that was the case this morning, when historian Brendan Doherty faced a strange question from a caller named Lawrence from the Bronx.
“My question is that um, Mr. Brendan, do you think they can amend the Constitution so that the President can run for three terms?” Lawrence asked. He also wondered if Democrats could plausibly take back the House of Representatives in 2014.
Before Republicans could reach for the smelling salts, however, Doherty gave a reassuring answer on both fronts. Hear his response below, courtesy of Mediaite:

Until I read your poem, (twice, in fact) that you must have worked so hard upon, I thought the massacre of 20 six and seven year old children was a SAD thing, but now, thanks to your personal work and writing skill, I can appreciate that the Newtown slayings were actually a blessed event that brought twenty pure innocent souls to the Master of the Universe, our one Savior, Lord God Jesus Christ, before they could be corrupted by experiencing their lives on Earth.
The bushmaster attack was a blessed event, I now see the light. More events like this will bring more purity to heaven by denying Satan’s access to our vulnerable youth left to fare for themselves in the world for 70 or 80 years or more. Dec. 30, 2012 at 7:29am@Bluestrat. I can’t watch videos on The Blaze either. And I have a gaming-configured laptop (fast). I’ve found that if I copy and paste the video link to a new window I can watch it using Real or YouTube or whatever format it is, it’s much easier.
I’ve written at least a dozen letters to The Blaze as every time I view an article or even refresh an article I’ve already read on here it spams me with a new ad in a new window. That isn’t just “paying the bills” – it is excessive. Hope they upgrade soon.

I then purchased 3 copies off of Amazon and loaned them to friends and my sons. My older son then bought 3 copies and began circulating them to friends and coworkers. I find the sad thing to be that most people are not interested. The group of Americans who see the big picture and understand what is happening in this country is a small one. It is tragic the level of low intellect and clarity of vision that has become pervasive in this country. The Communists have prevailed but goodness and self reliance must again become qualities to be admired and strived for. We must regain the narrative.

I realize this is way late after your comment, but if your not running Dial up and you are running at least DSL (of some form) I recommend DISCONNECT from the net! And RUN a virus scan. Sounds like your machine might be infested with malware/adware.
My computers motherboard died, so I put together a machine from scrap parts in my ‘bone yard’. The processor pre-dates Pentium 1 and my RAM is at the most DDR 1(not certain). I installed Opera and I have no issue watching video on the blaze unless it is from YouTube, then I have to go to the source. Not sure why. Opera is a GREAT browser for low speed machines/internet connections. It is designed for dial up. I would not be able to browse any free site comfortably without it.

Remember Ben Nelson and the other Bluebloods on health care made deals that couldn’t be beat. Be it money or in Nebraska’s deal no state added money ever to Medicade like all the other states. One thing Obama taught the US is when a new law is passed you can make different rules for different groups. We used to have a standard tax rate and everyone no matter their bank acct. had to pay. We used to have a rate above poverty and a middle class tax and 33& for the rich.

I hope your right and I am wrong, but I do not think so! My read of the culture, values, morals, spiritual warfare give me a completely different picture.
Like I said somewhere else on this post. Sure there will be some pops and farts of resistence out there but if you truly believe millions can muster and rise up (even 10%) on their own your the one living in a dream world. Where would they get the resources? Logistics? Transportation, lodging, Secure comms etc. This 10% is getting mowed down in Syria as we speak. Same will occur here.

He barely won several states, and a few of them he might have lost without the trickery displayed. I’m not claiming he won with fraud, but he certainly won with vote-buying… not illegal. When you bus the homeless to voting areas and give them free meals with a vote for Barack, that’s vote buying. The cross state/county line voting issues were never addressed or checked up on either.
The point is: he barely won.
If he passes some kind of Federal law banning firearms, he will have civil war on his hands. No cop is going to go ‘pick up’ someone’s legally purchased and registered firearm without serious back-up. It’s unenforceable.
Come on folks, Republicans wondered if they could get Bush and Regan to run for a 3rd term. It’s all wishful thinking.

If you have two stand-ins run for president & VP. Then the electors for the electorial college vote for Obama instead of the stand-ins.
It that plan falls through then with a rapid set of resignations and appointments could put Obama back in office.
If that plan falls through, then declare a new constitutional convention to create a new constitution (the old one was flawed, being a description of what the governement can’t do rather than a description of what the government must do), and in the process don’t inlude a few of those outdated amendments, like freedom of speech and term limits for presidents
If that fails, then riots, strikes, and chaos might call for extra-constituional measures, like bringing back a beloved and revered ex president.

If the VP resigns first, the president appoints a new VP. If the president then resigns, then the appointed VP becomes president. That’s how we got unelected President Ford.
You could also have a representative from Hawaii resign, have the governor appoint Obama as his replacement. Then have them choose him as speaker of the house. Then when the President and VP both resign at the same time, he’s next in secession, but while that’s legal, it’s never been done, so the appointment to VP would be easier to “fix”, requiring only two co-conspirators.

However, I don’t see the American public doing anything about it. With all the evidence surrounding his illegal authority to be president, what have we done to prevent the second term? We are lazy and uninformed. We could easily march by the hundreds of thousand in Washington to protest the many bills already in force that have taken away our rights, but we haven’t. This gun right issue is a false flag to take our eyes off the civil rights violations happening as we speak as well as sending groups into Africa for a new war, and the Bengahzi hearings. I could go on, but you get the picture. All of these quiet unlawful constitutional abuses are going on unabated and we sit by our computers and bitch. Both parties in Washington are on the wrong side of history and we will pay the price by being complacent.

To admen the Constitution takes more than just the house it takes the States. You’re so right there, but declaring martial law due to instability or attack, permits him to set aside the Constitution and elections, and reign (oops sorry, serve) until he declares the emergency over! I really figured that was the way he was going to go last October when it looked like Mitt might win, evidently they found a way to discourage the opposition enough for the voter fraud to work instead.

To be perfectly fair, its not all his doing! He has just come along to put the final nail in the American Enterprise because it could not have been done so easily in decades past. But now, the people are ready for it and in fact have been programmed by the mass media to accept these changes wholeheartedly.
Its strange to watch! Hitler ran on bringing the country up out of the ashes to prosperity and made powerful and respectable once again…and it worked in that direction….for a time!
This current president is taking another road and its the road to our own destruction and everyone or atleast half the country cheer him on esp in the MSM. Remarkable to see Americans going along with someone asking them to do with less and become more and more dependant upon the state. This too will work for a time. But at some point it will become unbearable. What will be his solutions then?

You will notice that it says nothing about supporting, defending, or following the orders of the President. Moreover, although the enlisted “oath of office” does swear or affirm to support and follow the orders of the President, any order given that violates the Constitution is an illegal order. Hopefully our officers are well versed and ready to defend our Constitution rather than follow illegal orders issued by Obama.

In March of 2012 I said to hell with my fears and gave my first ever public speech and it contained this sample of what I predict will be a -future- letter from our soldiers.
A letter from a soldier…….“why father, why brother, why my mother and sister did you sleep at home, while we fought abroad? Why did you allow the shredding of our Declaration and Constitution from within, while we so dearly protected you & it from abroad?”
In other words folks, if we do not get off our azzes and do something this is the type of letters that families will receive from their beloved troops serving abroad. The same troops, and their families, that we are letting down by sitting idle while these tyrants in congress are spitting all over the Constitution. And when they’re not spitting on it then they are shredding it or acting like it doesn’t even exist.
If you and I claim to have any respect and or appreciation for our troops, our veterans, and love for our children then we will march. I’m going on January 3rd when the new congress is seated.
I will go and look like a jackass standing all alone if that is the case, but I don’t care. I just know I am sick of myself for not taking any actions against these tyrants.
The signs I have in mind are. OUR KIDS ARE IN GREATER DANGER FROM TYRANNY THAN THEY ARE FROM SCHOOL SHOOTINGS and IF YOU DON’T LIKE THE CONSTITUTION, THAN AMEND IT.
