After the horrifying tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary, CNN host Piers Morgan abandoned any semblance of impartiality in the gun control debate, going so far as to call one pro-gun advocate an “unbelievably stupid man.”

After a lively interview, Morgan told Larry Pratt, the head of Gun Owners of America: “You are a dangerous man espousing dangerous nonsense, and you shame your country.”

In response to his repeated criticism of the Second Amendment, a petition to deport the British television host began on the White House website.  In roughly one week, more than 90,000 people have signed.

But Morgan appears to be enjoying the attention.  After individuals like Michael Moore and author Joyce Carol Oates rallied to his defense (Oates even compared the petition to “Southern lynch mobs”), Morgan is doing his best to keep the petition in the limelight.

“Still only 90,000 Americans have signed the White House petition to deport me.  That leaves 310,910,000 who presumably want me to stay,” he tweeted Friday.

After that, Morgan said it wasn’t on his “bucket list” to “suck on [Ted Nugent's] machine gun,” as Nugent recently said to those who would try to “disarm” him.

The Huffington Post describes Morgan’s tweets as “taunting,” adding:

Still, American anti-Morganites can find solace in the fact that, at the moment, their enemy has — in the words of Mitt Romney — self-deported to England for a vacation.

That will, of course, sadden the British wing of the anti-Morganites, who have their own petition demanding that he be kept in the United States, which creates the possibility that Morgan will be left floating somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean as both countries strive to have the other one take him, but we digress.

      If I read the news correctly Canada is still part of the “Commonwealth” he could go there and still cause hate in “North” America – just not in the United States of America – and still be considered a deported British Citizen.       I went to the web site and it requires registering to sign the petition. As if I need the White House to have my on any kind of short list! and I bet I am not the only one that felt that way. So here is my silent vote. Go home dim wit brit. “Hand gun crimes double since their ban in England…” And the irony of it all…his country is the reason the founding fathers knew we needed the 2nd Amendment! Because time and again, history shows, if any Government has enough power they will turn it on the citizens to get their way. Not here. The Government in this country works for us.     This makes for what, six articles on this guy?

    - How about how over 200 waited in line this a.m. for the Nations Gun Show to open here in Chantilly VA, outside D.C.
    - How about the thousands inside while others had to wait outside until there was room.
    - How about how the Fairfax County Police had to direct traffic at times and never had in the past.
    - How about that the parking overflowed into other businesses parking lots like WalMart and Holiday Inn yesterday (opening day) and this morning by noon.
    - How about the anti-gun protesters outside of the Dulles Expo Center…
    - How about that the TV news channels have NEVER, in my 10yrs here, covered the gun show but three of the four did yesterday and this a.m.
    - How about this as news instead of…

    Stop already with this pierce guy, very few if any here watch him or the network that he’s on…
