As 2012 (thankfully) comes to a close, we look back at the things that matter the most: The best songs, the top news stories, the best movies, and, of course, the best mug shots. And even if that last one isn’t a regular part of your year-end recap, don’t worry — The Smoking Gun has you covered!
“Honorees receive no trophies, certificates of appreciation, or gift baskets. But they are free to print out the … Nick Nolte blue ribbon and pin it to their respective jumpsuits,” TSG explains.
Without any further introduction, here are some of the greatest (worst) mug shots of the year [all block quotes via TSG]:
Travis Williams, whose rap sheet runs 94 pages, was busted for disorderly conduct after allegedly menacing patrons at an outdoor Florida shopping mall. It is unclear why he was lightly powdered.
Virginian Hubert Leverich was arrested in early-September for sexual assault. The 40-year-old is a habitual felon, as noted by his forehead.
Arrested for drunk driving, failure to comply.
Arrested for violating probation.
Robert Mrah, 43, is a regular guest at the jail in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where cops frequently bust him for public intoxication. Each collar comes with a new expressive pose for the mug shot camera.
Lee Hazen Williamson, 57, was wearing a floral bathing suit when he was spotted exposing himself on the dock of a lakefront motel in California. He was previously busted for lifting his dress and exposing his genitals to fellow riders on a municipal bus.
Singer Lauryn Hill posed for the United States Marshals Service after being charged with failing to file several years of federal tax returns. The former Fugees star subsequently pleaded guilty to three misdemeanor charges.
Arrested for disorderly conduct–noise.
Where do you buy a coat like that?
Arrested for driving with a revoked license.
Johnny Manziel, the Texas A&M quarterback who this year won the Heisman trophy, was arrested in June by College Station cops. “Johnny Football” allegedly scuffled with a man who had been fighting with his friend. The 20-year-old was charged with disorderly conduct, giving false information to law enforcement, and possession of a fake ID.
