Looking Back on Beck’s 2012 Reflections and Predictions That Came to Light

With hundreds of broadcasts to his credit each year across radio and television platforms, Glenn Beck has covered much ground discussing and dissecting past and current events that impact the course of the nation, and sometimes the world. He also, however, has spent ample time exploring potential domestic and geopolitical events that have yet to pass, sometimes offering predictions of what Americans might expect in the months and years ahead.

Much to his critics’ chagrin, Beck has proven to be insightful and indeed accurate on many such fronts, particularly as it relates to the Arab Spring; the increased erosion of privacy in American life; withering congressional power with President Obama’s sweeping use of executive orders; the rise of gun sales following the 2012 presidential elections, and so on.

Below are a series of clips spanning the last year in which Beck has brought to light some very telling revelations.

From the end of 2011 through today, Beck has pored over seemingly countless reports to provide his viewers with a new perspective. He dedicated numerous programs to exposing the Benghazi scandal that left a U.S. ambassador, two Navy SEALs, and a civil servant dead, with both he and his news site, TheBlaze, tackling the unpopular theory that the late Christophers Stevens may have been the point man in an administration-led gun-running scheme:

In terms of the Arab Spring and rise of the Muslim Brotherhood, few have spoken more candidly or astutely on the clear and present threats than Beck.

For instance, he cautioned Americans and Israelis to be particularly leery of the Arab Spring lest its agenda not truly be one of freedom and democracy. He also accurately predicted the ambitions of the Muslim Brotherhood and its clear goal to implement a hardline theocratic agenda in the countries to which it had set siege.

Even before moving to his own network, as early as January 2011, Beck talked about the Brotherhood’s destabilizing force in the Middle East and its ability to set the region ablaze:

Moving into domestic issues, Beck also touched a great deal on invasion of privacy as he discussed the use of surveillance drones and internet security (or perhaps insecurity) in daily lives of Americans. Of course, earlier in 2012, Congress succumbed to pressure from the Defense Department and drone manufacturers, ordering the FAA to give drones greater access to civilian airspace by 2015.

Few are also aware of an administration-led plan Beck exposed one year ago in January that could essentially turn the nation into a real life “1984″:

The mandate applies to drones operated by private companies or individuals and civilian government agencies, including federal, state, and local law enforcement, according to a previous report on TheBlaze.

Of course, who could forget Beck’s many revelations and predictions concerning “Obamacare” and its implications, beginning with its “Complete Lives” provision:

In the segment below, Beck took time to speak with doctors who claim that the impact of “Obamacare” will yield far more negatives than positives:

Further to this, Beck also brought to light the fact that Congress has become increasingly irrelevant due to Obama’s overuse of executive orders. In his first term alone the president bypassed the legislative branch altogether by signing a staggering 139 executive orders. The move also underscores Beck’s assertion that the U.S. is creeping ever-closer towards socialism and a place where government exercises absolute power over its citizens. Needless to say the passing of “Obamacare,” too, highlights this very point.

Few small-government leaders have been more outspoken nor have fought harder to stop the “out of control freight train” that is America’s ever-growing Nanny State than Beck:

Beck also discussed what could become a trend of affluent people “dressing down” in order to skirt the ire of those who seek to do them harm for no reason other than, well, their wealth:

On October 31, 2012 Beck made a prediction that if Obama won his re-election bid, the following day would mark “the biggest day of gun sales in the history of the world.”

“There will be more ammunition and more guns sold in the United States than any place at any time in the history of the planet next Wednesday. And let me make another prediction: If Obama wins, you are going to be very angry that you didn’t buy your gun in advance because they’re going to be hard to get, and ammunition will be hard to get,” said Beck.

“Because there will be a run on ammunition. Maybe I’m crazy, but I don’t think anybody who is an NRA member has any doubt on how much of a friend President Obama is to guns, and everybody will want to be grandfathered in,” he added.

Like clockwork on November 7, TheBlaze reported that gun sales, indeed, did skyrocket following the 2012 election. What’s more, the November 2012 cover of TheBlaze Magazine asked “Will the Constitution Be Disarmed?” and discussed the fact that everything from the Fast and Furious scandal, to numerous exploitations of tragedies, to legislation making gun ownership increasingly difficult has made it clear that Americans Second Amendment rights are under threat.

Following the politicization of the Newtown, Conn., school shooting, the threat to gun rights may be more clear than ever:

On September, 5, 2012, Beck talked about monetizing the debt and the government’s penchant for printing money.

TheBlaze’s Becket Adams wrote that when the Federal Reserve announced in September an unlimited and open-ended third round of quantitative easing (“QE3” or “QE-Infinity”), “we figured that’s about as far as you can go in terms of monetizing the debt,” but then “December rolled around and the Fed introduced yet another round of open-ended quantitative easing (‘QE4′), this time committing $45 billion a month to purchasing Treasury securities.”

“So with the Fed’s $40 billion a month commitment to mortgage backed securities (i.e. ‘QE-Infinity’) and its never-ending $45 billion a month commitment to Treasury securities (i.e. ‘QE4-Ever’), a monthly total of $85 billion, it looks like they can’t monetize the country’s debt fast enough — and all this in the span of about three months.”

Some of these predictions did indeed come to come, others may be well on their way to doing so, but in each case one thing is clear: few media personalities have had their finger on the pulse of the world-stage quite like Beck.

Beck helped me understand all the things I instinctively knew to be true! He gave me names to these things, which helped me make sense of a chaotic world.

I however predicted BHO first election and re-election. I knew this via the Holy Spirit!

  I must be reading a post from the mirror universe, since what is right is left and what and good is bad.
  If I replace your beck for Obama, and vice versa, and conservative for communist, then your post almost makes sense.
  The deceiver (Satan, for you slower trolls out there) slowly ties us with silken bands, until we are fully ensnared in his evil. He tells us that being bad is good, and there is no right or wrong. He slowly erodes our God given freedoms one little bit at time, until we can’t get them back. That is the road our president is taking us down.

  Can someone explain who in the givernmnet will have the authority to spend the additional tax money should a deal not be made and we go over the cliff. I thought the House of Representatives have the power of the purse. If this is true, why deal at all. Why not just use the additional revenue to pay down the debt?

And supported PROGRESSIVES (while CLAIMING to “fight” progressivism) and consequently REELECTED OBAMA.   Yeah, Beck’s a regular Nostradumbass. Sure if you make enough predictions, by random chance a couple might actually come true.
  
  Now honestly I don’t keep track of Beck’s predictions. But here are a couple that sent people running out to buy guns and freeze dried food, and, of course, gold (there is only one source I recommend, Godline!)
  
  Hyperinflation. Do you remember all that Myanmar Republic hyperinflation stuff? Didn’t happen. At least you have your gold. Just in case!
  
  The Caliphate? Didn’t happen, but ya got your gold I bet.
  
  The division of the world into three major powers? Doesn’t seem like that’s happened yet.
  
  President Obama becoming a dictator and not allowing the 2012 election to place? Wow, the elections took place on schedule and somehow Sarah Palin didn’t win.
  
  He did correctly predict that guns would be used to protect Americans from a dictatorship. Except the guns were used to kill innocent people instead of protecting American Democracy. Otherwise that prediction was right on.
  
  He also predicted that investing money in valuable single issue gold coins, not available from all sellers, would be bought in large numbers from Americans concerned about the Caliphate, the coming dictatorship, the coming hyperinflation. He sure got that one right!

  Most all of Becks predictions have either come true or are in the active process of doing so. He is a showman, yes, but he tells the truth also. In fact, he has dedicated his life to it. That is what drives his enemies crazy, since they live in a lie. They can’t pin him down or neutralize him, no matter how hard they try. They should really look out because he will crush them. That makes me smile. He is very underestimated. That’s ‘my’ prediction. Just you watch and see.
  
  Just because things don’t conform to your expectations or time frame doesn’t prove anything. Stay tuned Mr. Busybody, since ‘they’ pay you to do it anyhow. Truth has a way of outing itself and liars. Reality is a steamroller. Do try to stay out of its way, if you are able.

  @Brother: We are a country of many ideas – I consider myself Libertarian, and if you listen to Mr. Beck long enough, you know his core beliefs lean Libertarian. He is also a realist. He was unwilling to give his support to a Republican candidate, and finally came forward to back Rick Santorum. It takes time to weed out all the RINOS – I believe that there are too many Americans who are right of the Republican center, whether it’s the Tea Party or the Libertarian version of limited Government. In the meantime, chill out. What if Glenn and Patriots like him weren’t making us (and more importantly, the less informed) aware of the “other side” of the news? How can someone exposing the left be accused of being a shill for the left? I’d love to understand your rantings, but I think you experimented a little to much illegal substances to be coherent.

  I haven’t read this article and won’t. Glenn Beck is not a prophet. He cannot predict the future. He presents a lot of scenarios in different venues, radio,print,TV and eventually some of them stick. While I did unsubscribe to all things Beck after Obama won re-election that is only because I can’t take any more of the negative end-of-the-world stuff…. But I do feel a comraderie with people here who of are like minds. And I wish Glenn the best (kinda wish he’d put more cash into upgrading this site though! Hehe)

I think you’re a little sensitive to the fact that Beck is a capitalist, and that he makes tons of money by being a spokesman for all those businesses that profit off of end-of-the-world scenarios. He tells you the “truth” and cashes in on your fears. Nice gig if you can get it.

  He’s a capitalist and a good one. I admire that. He’s making a ton off of people like you, even though every gloom and doom prediction, which drives you spend your money on gold or whatever he’s hawking – are wrong time and time again. No hyperinflation, no Caliphate, no dictatorship no whatever. Those things never happen but you’re mesmerized nonetheless and put money in his coffers.

  Glenn Beck has opened my eyes to much in the last few years. He brought up alot of names – but when it comes to connecting all the dots of the left and their agenda to drive America in a direction designed to destroy it I recommend: Agenda: Grinding America Down.

  who theFabians (with logo of wolf in sheep’s clothing), SDS, Frankfurt School and Willi Munzenberg, John Dewey , Antonio Gramsci, Mattechine Society, Alinksi (who dedicated his book “Rules for Radicals to Lucifer), which Obama taught in Chicago for years, Committees of Correspondence are? Connect all the dots that allowed Obama to waltz into the White House…

  Send, your argument is a Straw Man, because Beck has never claimed to be a prophet in the first place. He is right so often because he actually does his homework on what’s happening, what has happened in the past in similar situations, etc. Learning from history, from our understanding of human nature, from clues to the real motives of lying politicians with (shocker!) hidden agendas.
  
  All the stuff those lying politicians don’t want you to consider, and somehow you buy their deceptions hook, line, and da sinkah too. But because it’s an inexact science, not prophecy, sometimes he’ll be wrong, just like a weather forecaster. Does your local weather guy being wrong sometimes make you just refuse to listen ever?

  I’m not from that area of the country but have been to Reno once years ago. I like that part of the country for visiting National parks. This past June I traveled though Az, Utah and CO. Next year I’m planning to go back to see Yellowstone again.

  Hey Bro…I just have one question: Exactly how much weed do you smoke? You have your wheel stuck in the rut. If Ron Paul ever had a chance I am sure Beck would have given him a fair shake. It wasn’t Beck who said some of the stupid things that Ron Paul said that turned off people like me. If Ron Paul would have LISTENED instead of being a mule-headed old fart he could have formed a coalition of Americans who would have supported him. He could have started by agreeing to support Israel. That was a deal killer for me.

He has proven to me that it’s OK to cry, because although I consider myself to be just as much as a man as the rest of you – even more so now since I’ve been corrected by OnebyOne… so its obvious I love guns – and my new AR-10A4 is a nice replacement for what I was “after” in my previous non-Christian Days.   That was a good one. Beck on TV is a scripted-professional and Beck on Radio is a fly-by-the-seat-of-his-pants.
  
  It was clear, here (YouTube: “Scümbag Glenn Beck demonizes Debra Medina”), that Beck had heard something about “9/11 truther” and “Debra Medina” and was itching to scratch it, but found nothing to scratch in that pointed but otherwise cordial interview.
  
  Beck has done this before with the “FEMA camps” issue. Which is odd considering everything else the Progressives(communists)-taken-over government is doing he exposes. Also surprising is his “belief” in the unprecedentedly huge facility being built in Utah for government (illegal-spying-on-Americans-without-warrant) data storage — thought that would be Beck-pooh-poohed (or Beck-pee-peed?), too.
  
  In short, Glenn Beck is a rodeo clown (by his own words) and w SHOULD dismiss him when he’s clearly the clown and thank him when he clearly yells warning of the cattle’s horns.

  I don’t understand, a whole lot of people complain that the US is going in the wrong direction, Government is too big and intrusive yet will not vote for the only guy that has a stance and record that is counter to that. Romney was only slightly less dangerous than Obama. Romney is a Neocon big Gov Liberal Republican Elitist. The Republican Party needs to be wiped out. But that seems to be the way of things, use force to make everyone think the way you do, Democrat or Republican, just slightly different. On the other hand Beck is a GREAT source of info, though he does pick Elitist Republicans, but it is hard to go counter to the extreme pressure of society and education. Ignoring the ridicule of others I listened to Beck and some of his wise guests and have benefited both financially and personally during 2012. One of the smartest things I have done was to subscribe to GBTV/theBlaze as soon as it became available using the Internet.

Thanks to Glenn, the Blaze team, the Real News team, and everyone that contributes to providing the most accurate information to subscribers. A special tip of the sombrero to Scott Baker who has brought thousands of us together at the Blazecast with the result that those of us who participate have become an extended family.

Beck was wrong a lot.
He was dead wrong about occupy wall st, which he said would take over many countries and set fire to many cities with many deaths. (Not even close)
He said that God spoke to him, and that Obama would lose the election. (Not even close)
He said that Israel would be overrun and that America would not help them. I dont see that happening and think that behind the scenes, we tell people like Morsi what to do. I think Morsi got an earful recently, and knows where his bread is buttered, and that we have a missile with his address on it.
Europe did not collapse, and i do not think it will. Glen said it would. It has not.
Glen has been wrong about gold over the last year, which has remained stagnant.
I’m a fan of Glen and a sub to his channel, and he has been right about many things, but wrong about many others.

He said that they had to be tried & promised them protection before the trial. they were murdered by another mob in the night. Marius was humiliated. His word was not good.

Why are we praising someone for “predicting” things that are common sense and that are no different than the predictions of Mark Levin, Neal Boortz, Hannity, Savage, and the others? Was Beck right about some things? Sure, but so was Levin. Did we really need Beck to tell us that gun sales would go through the roof if Obama was re-elected? Did we need him telling us that the Arab spring was a bad idea? This is all common sense.
Where was Beck’s great predicting skills when he supported the bailouts, tarp, and the patriot act?

How I wish that he had been wrong more often, but that appears not to be the case. This year our family moved back to Texas from Maine. Now we wait for the big changes to come. We are working on our garden, our canning and are here for our children if need be. My biggest fear is that having 2 special needs children with medical issues, I wonder if they will still be able to have needed medical care (ie surgeries) if needed. Oh well, only God will be able to take care of that. We can still say “God” can’t we? Happy New Year Ya’ll.
