‘Worst Day of My Presidency’: Recalling Sandy Hook Massacre, Obama Vows to Put ‘Full Weight’ Behind Gun Control Legislation
President Barack Obama during an interview with NBC’s “Meet the Press” vowed to put his “full weight” behind legislation next year aimed at curbing gun violence.
The president also said he was “skeptical” about the National Rifle Association’s proposals to place armed guards in schools as a response to the the Dec. 14 shooting in Newtown, Conn., that left 26 people dead, including 20 children.
“In his boldest terms yet,” as the Associated Press puts it, “he vowed to rally the American people around an agenda to limit gun violence.” The president noted that he “still supports increased background checks and bans on assault weapons and high capacity bullet magazines.”
“It is not enough for us to say, ‘This is too hard so we’re not going to try,’” the president said. “So what I intend to do is I will call all the stakeholders together. I will meet with Republicans. I will meet with Democrats. I will talk to anybody.
“I think there are a vast majority of responsible gun owners out there who recognize that we can’t have a situation in which somebody with severe psychological problems is able to get the kind of high capacity weapons that this individual in Newtown obtained and gun down our kids. And, yes, it’s going to be hard.”
The President’s remarks come as the horrific Newtown, Conn., shooting spree has pushed the topic of gun control to the forefront of national debate. The massacre has prompted intensified calls for increased gun control. However, the NRA has resisted these calls, arguing instead that schools should have armed guards.
“I am skeptical that the only answer is putting more guns in schools,” President Obama said. “And I think the vast majority of the American people are skeptical that that somehow is going to solve our problem.”
The president pledged to “press the issue” with the public.
“Will there be resistance? Absolutely there will be resistance,” he said.
“The question then becomes whether we are actually shook up enough by what happened here that it does not just become another one of these routine episodes where it gets a lot of attention for a couple of weeks and then it drifts away,” he said.
“It certainly won’t feel like that to me. This is something that — you know, that was the worst day of my presidency. And it’s not something that I want to see repeated,” he added.

The list goes on, but the tragedy is to good to waste. Have to start the in-roads to disarm the populace. Meanwhile, 1 out of 5 USA citizens have Aids per the CDC report just post to the Blaze.
That means all those kids that survived Sandy Hooks have a 1 in 5 chance of catching Aids in their life time. How about that. Anybody care about that?

You only have to get the lower unit from an FFL Dealer. Also how exactly are they going to force the thousands and thousands of owners of military style weapons to re-register, pay massive fee’s for ownership,,,or whatever lame brain ideals they come up with. I hate to say it, I’m almost excited to see what the Progressives try so I can watch it fail miserably. I can’t wait for his first speech to the nation were he will try to vilify those who do not agree with him and even go as far as trying to convince friends and family members to out those who may be hiding their firearms….much like the Nazi’s did in pre-war Germany….

Posted on December 30, 2012 at 12:07pmWhy is everyone acting surprised? He SAID he would do this during the second debate! The day after the election, I began stocking up on ammo and hi-caps and had NO PROBLEMS buying them and furthermore was shocked by the lack of other shoppers.
I supposed I shouldn’t have been surprised after complacent white voters stayed away from the polls more so than voting for a RINO like McCain. Granted, this was due to a combination of probably not wanting to vote for someone they didn’t completely trust and buying the intentional media vote suppression that Romney was a forgone conclusion. I’m not making this a race issue, this is just how things played out. It was preprogrammed apathy and it worked coupled with a well-funded Union ground game (read Shadow Bosses).
The left’s big mistake, as history will demonstrate, is they are trying to paint gun owner the and the NRA as a KKK-esque society fringe, however in the middle Red States, we are the mainstream. This only furthers the divide between the producing “Ants” and the northeast and Californian “Grasshoppers” (and oh my goodness, look where the really terrible shootings have historically happened).
They think this is a safe political issue based on estimates less than 50 million citizens own guns but I have over two dozen members of my family who DON’T own guns but believe in the 2nd Amendment and know that in a Cormac McCarthy The Road-scenario they will be able to be well armed with my assistance.

As this is a good possibility (based on the lesson of 1996), Obama’s simultaneous move will be to start stacking the Supreme Court more in his favor and attacking Right to Work efforts at the state level (to topcover his Union supporters).

In other words make our public schools a hard target! Are not our kids MORE valuable that anything else in this world??

Many veterans dealing with PTSD are being prescribed these drugs. In 2012, more soldiers have died committing suicide than those who have died in combat. He had no control over the sad shooting at Sandy Hook but was totally responsible for Benghazi. While we are all deeply upset by the shooting at Sandy Hook, I, personally, would be much more upset about a massacre that I had a hand in creating.
Is he really that calloused or is this another chance to just draw the attention away from O’s mistakes and try to get the sheeples focus on something else?

There were no press conferences, no empassioned statements that he is going to put the full weight of the Presidency behind getting to the bottom of this, nothing. Then along comes a situation where he can capitalize on it politically and he appears on TV wiping a tear from his eye. Why no tears for Brian Terry or the 4 killed in Benghazi? Strange.

I am also worried that the Fed allows China priority access to purchase debt. Why did the Treasury dept recently allow China to purchase a bank in the US? Interesting that the assassination of our ambassador in Libya wasn’t even mentioned! Also noteworthy that the Embassy in Central African Republic has been evacuated because there is a possible civil war looming, but nothing was done in a volatile Libya even after two aborted attacks on the US consulate and an attempted abduction/assassination of the British ambassador.

Read Alinsky if you haven’t already and compare to “BHO and his “policies”. This is nothing about being a bleeding heart liberal and saving lives- this is about disarming the American people for a massive government takeover to a Fascist state with the American people with no power to fight back against the tyranny. BHO is working hard to collapse the system and succeeding- this is about bringing America down to size and dissolving our constitution and freedom. Nothing at all to do with gun control, same goes with health care and his attacks on business owners.

If I looked upset it was because I was winning and would have won if not for this nuisance.This does however give me a pretext to disarm the population and make my plans for you simpletons much easier to accomplish.
