Shocking Benghazi Report Blames State Dept.: U.S. Gov’t ‘Failed Tragically’ to Protect Americans

A shocking new Senate report on the Benghazi, Libya, attack that claimed the lives of four Americans on Sept. 11, including U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens, contends that the State Department is at fault for failing to tackle security threats in the days and months leading up to the deadly assault. Additionally, the document concludes by noting that the horrific event is evidence that the U.S. battle with “Islamist extremists and terrorists is not over.”

The report, “Flashing Red: A Special Report On The Terrorist Attack At Benghazi,” which came from the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, charges that, considering unpredictable chaos in the region, the State Department did not adequately protect the compound or respond to challenges facing it leading up to the attack. While no specific threats were waged against U.S. staffers in Libya prior to Sept. 11, the report essentially charges that the U.S. government, taking information and developments into account, should have taken grander steps to protect workers.

“In the months leading up to the attack on the Temporary Mission Facility in Benghazi, there was a large amount of evidence gathered by the U.S. Intelligence Community (IC) and from open sources that Benghazi was increasingly dangerous and unstable, and that a significant attack against American personnel there was becoming much more likely,” the study’s first finding contends.

The report went on to claim that information about threats was shared within the Intelligence Community (IC) and with key personnel at the Department of State. However, despite knowledge that the situation was worsening, it “did not lead to a commensurate increase in security at Benghazi nor to a decision to close the American mission there.” These actions, the Senate committee claims, would have been justified by the intelligence findings.

Another of the statements in the document reads, “The absence of specific intelligence about an imminent attack should not have prevented the Department of State from taking more effective steps to protect its personnel and facilities in Benghazi.”

With the Libyan government unable to provide adequate security, the need for greater U.S.-led provisions was obvious, but according to the study — not undertaken. In addition to laying out its findings, the report also provides recommendations to prevent future events like the Benghazi terror attack from unfolding.

“We hope this report will help contribute to the ongoing discussion that our nation must have about how best to protect the brave men and women who serve our country abroad and how to win this war that will continue for years to come,” the document concludes, noting that the U.S. government “failed tragically” to protect Americans serving abroad in Libya.

  This report does seem only to address the time period leading up to the attack. We still don’t know who gave the stand down order or who refused to send help for hours leaving our citizens to be slaughtered. Look over here… Don’t talk about that… Blame is fixed on nobody so lets move along.
  All the smoke & mirrors likely means there is still a very big story that is being covered up.
  We have to keep pressing for the truth to come out. Where have all the people who were saved that day been hidden away? No word from them seems awfully suspicious…

  Each time that the Moron in the White House attempts to ignore the law, as exampled in
  
  “THE FAST & FURIOUS,” the gun-running caper between the United States and Mexico, and
  
  now, another gun-running caper between the United States and Benghazi where 4 Americans were
  
  permitted to die while this miserable dog of an American POTUS, observed on live-T.V., the attack
  
  and resorted to no means of rescue, when means for rescue was a mere 1 hour away. Therefore,
  
  this Black, miserable, ungreatful Moron needs to be held accountable for both episodes, and not

Obama, on December 30, not only continued the cover-up of the Benghazi assassination of Ambassador Chris Stevens and the three other Americans in 9/11-Two, but he escalated by going back to defending Susan Rice’s September 16th TV appearances. In the same interview on NBC’s Meet the Press on December 30, Obama also refused to name Al Qaeda, or use those words — or the word terrorism — in any reference to Benghazi.

President Barack Obama approved providing weapons exclusively to the Al-Qaeda affiliated LIFG led by Belhadj rather than to the Transitional National Council. NATO ensured that the weapons arrived safely in Libya. The weapons supplied were produced outside of the U.S. so that they could not be traced back to the U.S.

The New York Times article says: “No evidence has emerged linking the weapons provided by the Qataris during the uprising …. to the attack that killed four Americans at the U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya, in September.”

Nonetheless, the weapons were provided to militias controlled by Belhadj and Ismael al-Sallabi, both of whom founded the February 17th Brigade, which was responsible for providing security for the U.S. mission in Benghazi.

Of course the State Dept is at fault. The State Dept is at fault from top to bottom along with the entire administration and the circus ring master obama. The real question is WHY was the ambassador in Benghazi with MINIMAL SECURITY to begin with. Libya’s capital city and SEAT of Government, and the American Embassy are in Tripoli. Benghazi is OWNED by BMs and other terrorists.

There will never be impeachment proceedings because the Founding Fathers warned us this day would come. Congress is filled with individuals that have formed a “Circular Firing Squad”. All things Congressional are well rehearsed theatrics for general public consumption-because decisions have already been made WAY before the complicit and treasonous press gets their greasy paws on the damaged goods that’s “fit to print”.   What has been disclosed to me, is, Ambassador Stevens (AKA CIA operative), was in Benghazi
  
  to meet with a Turkish representative that was assisting the second gun-running caper, sponsored
  
  by the Moron that currently takes up space in the White House. The gun-running, evidently destined
  
  for the rebels in Syria, was being funneled to them by al Qaeda operatives, whom decided not to
  
  transport these guns to the Syrian rebels, and keep them for themselves for further attacks.

  It isn’t clear but I thought he was trying to broker a deal in order to retrieve the weapons we gave the rebels.. The lack of security was apparently the result of a new culture in the State Department that is trying to appear less militant… Barry put enough layers between himself and those that actually gave the orders to stand down as to ensure that he will not be implicated. This is his modus operendi.
  I have no doubt for example if the raid on Bin Laden had turned to crap he had plans to distance himself from the actual event. He has never put himself in harms way whether physically or politically.

  I think it’s just another coverup from calling it a consulate. This was a CIA post, and CIA was in the middle of the arms smuggling business. That’s why Amb Stevens was there along with the Turkish diplomat, and not at the American consulate. Knowing this, it made things much easier for the terrorist group to make their attack. The administration, by issuing a stand down order, not only failed Stevens, but the CIA itself. This whole thing reeks of a setup cooperation with the terrorists.

What IS shocking, is how long it is taking to get people in to testify. Everyone keeps saying “Hillary must testify”, but what about Obama himself? He doesn’t have a blood clot or a concussion! What IS shocking is how long it is taking to uncover all the corruption behind Fast and Furious. We STILL don’t have answers on that too! What IS shocking is the total lack of curiosity by the media to uncover the truth on these issues with a couple rare exceptions.   WE KNEW… But now MSM will be covering it, in small bite portions and others will have a ‘basic’ concept of what we’ve spoken of since September.
  Bad news is that this will be yesterday’s news and most will have moved on as this will be a non-issue to them.

And WHO appoints the folks at the State Dept.??? Like I said before….Forget about Hillary…It’s Obama that is most responsible…He made a Political appointment and NOT a qualified appointment…

Sadly, this is another “nothing”. ….most all common sense deductions most of us knew. It does nothing to get into their evil intentions, justice, etc. More “kabuki” theatre that they needed to do to look like they’ve done their necessary investigations. Same ol same ol.
Yes, all of us wondering about Hillary. Either she’s pulling yet another big lie, cover or God is “working” on her.
Check out this very informative summary about the humongous corruption/deceit behind the scenes that has been successfully kept under wraps all these years but I doubt anything will come of this either b/c of lack of “hard evidence” & exposure in MSM, etc. like it always is…… Read it and weep. (and PRAY for miraculous Divine intervention)

And how convenient Hillary in the Hospital.
She better hurry up and spill the beans on Obama before she finds herself getting “Matt Drudged”.
Everyone knows Obama planned the hit on U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens to cover up illegal gun running to the enemy. What makes anyone think he won’t do what he has to do to keep Hillary silent.

  They have successfully sidestepped the most damning evidence of all: 13 missing containers full of weapons they were trying to illegally send to the rebels in Syria, most likely now in the hands of the Taliban. The ambassador was in Benghazi to try and get them back.

and how many employees were rescued by those brave soilders, who went against orders to stand down? Blood on Hilary’s hands and Obama’s hands could of numbered closer to 30. Would there have been outrage at that point?

I think we should call this financial situation a “Fiscal Bluff”.

NOT SHOCKING.. Good God does every story have to be SHOCKING and SURPRISING? Most of us have been screaming this from the rooftops for months. Not that it matters. There might be a sacrificial lamb or two, but even most of the resignations were reassignments rather than firings. We live in a twisted banana republic of nepotistic hedonistic buggery.
