Egyptian Islamists & Prosecutors Investigate Popular Comedian for Insulting Muslim Brotherhood President

CAIRO (TheBlaze/AP) — Egyptian prosecutors say they have launched an investigation against a popular television comedian for allegedly insulting the president. The action comes as fears continue to surround Islamist domination and a potential crackdown on free-speech that many liberal groups have feared since the Muslim Brotherhood and other Islamist groups won power.

An Islamist lawyer filed the charges against Bassem Youssef, whose show on a private Egyptian satellite channel is modeled after Jon Stewart’s “The Daily Show”. The host has outraged conservatives and garnered fans among the country’s liberals for parodying public figures.

The general prosecutor’s office said Tuesday they are looking into charges that he insulted Islamist President Mohammed Morsi by putting his image on a pillow and parodying parts of his speeches.

It is the latest in a series of charges filed by Islamist lawyers against media personalities for allegedly insulting Morsi. It is actions like this one that cause many to question the merits and future plans of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt.

As previously reported, last week, Morsi proclaimed the country’s newly adopted constitution as the dawning of a “new republic,” calling on the opposition to join a dialogue with him after a month of violent turmoil and focus on repairing a damaged economy.

Morsi sought to present the Islamist-drafter charter as the turning of a historic page for Egypt, but his speech did little to ease the suspicions of those who fear he and his Muslim Brotherhood are entrenching their power. He offered no concrete gestures to an opposition that has so far rejected his dialogue and vowed to fight the constitution.

Instead, with a triumphalist tone, he presented the constitution, which was approved by nearly 64 percent of voters in a referendum as creating a democracy with balanced powers between branches of government and political freedoms. Considering this latest charge againstΒ Youssef, though, some will question just how far this “freedom” goes.

I bet this guy will be found dead within a week. This is not funny, but every time I hear or read about the insanity of islam, I think of hussein. As in hussein obama. I connect him to everything islam and muslim, including the atrocities committed and insane behavior ‘n beliefs. hussein loves the call to morning prayer when the wailing begins over loudspeakers across muslim cities. One of the most “beautiful sounds” he has ever heard, according to his muslim self. I have never seen this much hatred, disrespect, fear and loathing of an American president before. Something needs to be done with him.

A parable, December 19, 1986: “For many people ventured forth in the land you would call the Holy Land, that of Bethlehem….For there was the birth and the beginning of the Christian religion. Yet, it sits in the heart of the land of Judaism, and there is a heart of the Moslem religion. Remember these words, for in each is like a huge circle, each a part of the other. Each could not exist without the other. If you destroyed one part, you have destroyed the whole. Yet, allow one part to grow, and you allow them all to grow, for they are bound together.
There are many parts of the Buddha religion, and the Buddhists of many sectors and parts, and they do not make war upon one or another. They have found a way of sharing their God. If only all others would do the same….”
[As you] “celebrate the birth of Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ, set aside the time, each of you, in you in your hearts and souls, that may we find a way to live among each other in peace and harmony.
We have seen all nations. But you, who live in this you call the United States of America, are of all nations, of all colors and creed[s]. You have brought forth a great nation dedicated to justice and liberty for all, before God. That and that alone has set you aside from all other nations and has allowed all religions to flourish within the same. Yes, you have those who would say this or that about a religion — and they have the freedom of speech to say. In another land they would not.”

let them return to the sand piles they came from, just a bunch of towle heads with no purpose but to want to govern people from an outdated no purpose religion that relies on hate, evil, and the subversion of people whether they be nuslim, christian, jewish, pagan. if they didnt have oil they would be the cesspool of the middle east, from the great heritage of there past i seriously doubt they could build a kiddie pool without blaming it on someone else.

LOL these MBH fools want Egyptian Jews to return to Egypt. Why is that could it be like European countries who persecuted Jews in the 15th century the MBH finds themselves with an economy in shambles? Historically Jews have worked in finance and helped to fuel modern business with the resultant uptick in living standards.

Tell ya what MBH this non Egyptian spanish Jew who is a Marine is willing to return to Egypt only if complete with all my US government issued toys to help put all of you in the ground permanently!

I wonder if Jon Stewart will say anything about this or throw him under the bus. I don’t watch the John Stewart Show so I curious if there will be any discussion about this person (not curious enough to watch the schmuck. Plus if Stewart doesn’t watch it he will be in the same fix once the muslims are given the chance to institute sharia law in conjunction with our present laws.

The United States Supreme Court in 1891 gives us what we can expect of Fundamentalist Islamist or Sharia Courts operating in the Middle East, and for us, why we should NOT allow their legal operation here in the U.S:
    “In re Ross, 140 U.S. 453 (1891) @463
    Page 140 U. S. 463
The intense hostility of the people of Moslem faith to all other sects, and particularly to Christians, affected all their intercourse and all proceedings had in their tribunals. Even the rules of evidence adopted by them placed those of different faith on unequal grounds in any controversy with them. For this cause, and by reason of the barbarous and cruel punishments inflicted in those countries, and the frequent use of torture to enforce confession from parties accused, it was a matter of deep interest to Christian governments of withdraw the trial of their subjects, when charged with the commission of a public offense, from the arbitrary and despotic action of the local officials.”

Intolerant Sharia Law is what is being advocated by Leftists and Moderates to be recognized as equal to U.S. Civil Law in America, even though it is a system of only soft and hard terrorism, with the judicial freedom to bind, rape, torture, and kill on a whim of suspicion or claim of insult. Have a U.S. comedian constantly say, “Obama! Your mama!” as a punch line, and let’s see if there is any difference in demands of retribution by those supporting Obama from those supporting Morsi.

Speaking of comedian on TV, I heard David Gregory is going to get a “free pass” for violating gun laws in the Washington, DC area. That should make for interesting legal defenses in the future when people “accidently” or unknowingly bring weapons to that weapon free zone. He gets a free pass even he though already knew he was breaking the law. Liberals….

Good point. It does set a precedent for future legal actions. As long as you have a good enough lawyer.

So much for democracy in that country. Though I’m sure politicians here would love to lock up people who made fun of them.

So once again we see the growing terror and extremism that Obama has allied himself with in the Middle East. Just one more example of his inability to have compassion for anyone, and that he only cares for his agenda – the elimination of Israel in the Middle East and breaking of America at home.

Consider well what is coming to Egypt, a theocratic version of the KGB, dedicated to re-engineering and control over the society via terror, coercion, intimidation, blackmail, manipulation and outright usage of courts of law, taxation, regulation and so forth for domination.

We are seeing the same secular extremism of Obama-communism being established step by step at home as well. Learn the pattern well people for Obama is now upping the speed of his actions to become the final ruler of America as a Republic, and the first as a Communist.
