Posted on January 1, 2013 at 8:07pmWe here in Oklahoma will lose Tom Colburn to term limits and he is hated by both partys because he blows the whistle on things like the bridge to nowhere, so both partys hate him. Back in 2007 Hillery Clinton spent $ 95 million for the NY Senate seat. That is a lot of favors for a seat she didn’t even fill so as Sec. of State a lot of folks had axcess to her. With Term Limits these folks would be running for their district rather than the whole country. Lobbiest would think twice about giving millions to someone that can only serv 2 terms.

Newt had it included in the Contract with America & it was the ONLY one of the 10 items to fail. It lost 5-4 at the U. S. Supreme Ct. If you like reading law, look up the common-sense dissent written by Clarence Thomas to see why term limits should be acceptable.
It may take a newly-written law (to be re-litigated) or else a constitutional amendment (as it stands now).

Posted on January 2, 2013 at 10:37amWe tried that. I forget the year. It was either in the late 80′s or early 90′s. I just remember being amazed and disgusted when the people voted to impose term limits on congress and instead of abiding by the will of the people, congress actually took the people to court to fight it and actually won. That was the day the reality that our elected officials do not feel they need to answer to us was hammered into my young mind.

Posted on January 2, 2013 at 11:53amI have never been in favor of term limits but I would like to see a ten vote per lifetime limit. After you vote ten times, you are done and replaced with another Senator or Representative. This would cut down on voting for something before voting against it and it would cut down on frivolous subject matter. There should also be an end to Omnibus bills that contain numerous provisions that are unrelated to the title.

The ONLY way this could even come close to being made possible is to have a 2/3′s of Governors present it to their states first. BUT, these same Governors are looking at “higher office” and would be even MORE hard pressed to cut up that golden goose then Congress will. We have term limits here in Florida and it works out just fine until “Mr Fake and Bake” Charlie Christ pops his ugly head up for another chance!!!!

Posted on January 2, 2013 at 4:51pmTerm limits could be done right now. It’s called “election day.”
(Note: I support a Constitutional Amendment, I’m just saying if the will was there, we’d have it done already.) Too many people (not just politicians) on the gravy train.
Nothing will change until the crash happens.
When it does, I believe the US will be split up into 3 new countries. The Pacific Northwest (CA/OR/WA), the Northeast (New England, NY, PA, NJ, DC, MD, VA, and maybe a few others) and then the rest of the country will band together to bring our country back into sanity. Because right now we all know where the insane people live, and it isn’t where we live.
If you are a sane person and you live in the insane part of the country, sell now because housing/land prices will never recover in those areas from where they are now, there will be a massive deprecation over the next 20 years and values will climb in “fly over country.” Now is the perfect time to start planning and taking action.
Just look over the maps folks. It’s not hard to see what is coming.

Posted on January 1, 2013 at 7:48pmYou knew the greatest scam on earth, elected politicians, could not wait for everyone to be hung over and not pay attention to them while they put their hands deeper into the cookie jar. This whole thing has been a sham from the beginning. Harry Reid, John Boehner they play for the same team the team of enriching their lives off of our sweat and blood. The taxpaying citizen in this country does not even know the half of what they are doing to them. The part that upsets me is the political maneuvering that just took place. I am no way any political analysist, but I can see what just took place.
The dems and repubs both argued and postured to the public drumming up false sense of fear of going over the “cliff”. The dems act like they got screwed on not fleecing the rich for all their money. And the repubs get to sign a deal today or tomorrow. By doing this the republican base gets to see us not signing a deal before 2013 and think they have won by going over the cliff and enacting all of the mandatory cuts. In reality absolutely nothing has changed except for the special interests that were fulfilled in the bill they are going to sign because nobody read the bill before they voted. I really wont be surprised that one day our freedom has been given over to th UN for total control of our government just because no none reads the damn bills.

Benjamin Franklin said, “Do not make the poor so comfortable that they start liking it”. Back in the fifties my family was in a bind so we did accept government help. The help was in the area of food which was a gallon of milk and a block of cheese each week. And, you know something, I appreciated this help. Now the help is a free cell phone, free gasoline, discounted housing, expensive food items, and cash from the food stamp card. I had a reason to improve my self and get away from the government help. Today the compliant is, ‘Why can’t I get more help?”

Either the tax increases proposed will raise in the ballpark if $ 62 billion or they won’t
You did not deny that they would.
Either the CBO projected budget deficit is in the neighborhood of $1,098 billion or it is not.
You did not deny that it is.
The rest is simple arithmetic, fractions & percentages that kids should be learning in grade school.
The additional tax increases bring enough additional revenue to close the budget deficit by 5.7%.
That is mathematics that is beyond dispute given the 1st 2 points.
You want to dispute the CBO numbers or the arithmetic? Either you are no Marine or I now see why you could not make sergeant. So 4 & out whether you had anything lined up or not.

Certain gov sources (multiple scources) have leaked info, like:
The election was over in Sept.
People….weren’t some states denied right to verify voting eligibility?
Judges got “the word”, loud and clear, to not allow verification. (SC/PA/AZ and others)
There was never going to be a “deal” about the fiscal cliff.
Thank Obama and his “handlers” for that.
Jarrett and Napolitano are in charge, but Obama is aware.
Why Napolitano?
Isn’t she DHS?
Yes!
What’s that got to do with “the cliff?”
Nothing!
How about no food on the grocery shelves?
Civil unrest, perhaps?
Going to protect your family iof it happens?
Not without guns!
Kind of a perfect storm, huh?
Have you ever heard of “detainment camps?”
Some of you drive by them every day.
Remember the ammo requested by DHS this past year?
How about NDAA? Indefinite detainment?
Did you forget?
Still want them to get your legal guns?
You’ll be able to voluntarily turn them in…..you can be a good citizen.
Don’t think they’ll do it????
What happens if there’s another SH?
DHS will be in full riot control.

The Senate compromise is headed in the right direction in baby steps. But at that rate it will not head off the debt disaster in time

And then there is this from the Monk
This Bill, HR8, was passed by the House back in Sept and Harry Reid has been sitting on it.

No, he has been “massaging” it to fit Obie’s platform. Every bill passed by the House is subject to the Senate’s pencil and eraser. It would take an astute House to send bills in a “pass as is” fashion.

Enlightenment for those who do not wish to be enlightened by their own choice is difficult. The graph is truth presented in the simplest of means, and the easiest to comprehend, even for the low-information voters who supporters of Obama.
The main difference is they do not care.

They will continue to blame everyone but themselves and Odumbarse. It is the normalcy bias: they are programmed (literally) to believe that it is someone else’s fault, thus they will continue to blame everyone but themselves. Some of them even unto their dying breath will believe themselves in the right.
It is the way of the brainwashed.

Posted on January 1, 2013 at 10:13pmLast I read, the politicians managed to squeeze more pork in the bill that is heading to the house. That was really fast. So to answer your question, the budget/spending cuts do not exist, in fact they will be increasing the deficit due to this one bill. I used to think that these ‘leaders’ were just stupid, but now I know that they all want to take this country down, hoping that they and a few other ‘elites’ will maintain power and riches when it is all over. I think a lot of these ‘leaders’ will end up in prison or worse.

Posted on January 1, 2013 at 8:22pmProbably not, I wonder if the problems have become so manifestly large that no one really can grasp them and have for the most part, given up from being overwhelmed or in despair.

Your point? For a talk show host predicting the future if he gets it right 60 or 70% of the time, that is pretty good. He was talking about the stock market crashing in October & November of 2007. It started in October 2007, accelerated in October 2008 & bottomed in March 2009. How much can you predict when the government is using all sorts of levers & dials artificial doing things to the economy like quantitative easing (QE). ZeroHedge dot com has graphed the effects of each QE on the stock market. The stock market is rigged by the government. So it is much harder to predict on a normal timeline.
I don’t expect you to answer. You never do. You snipe with a snide comment & disappear. We could play cat & mouse.
