U.S. Marine’s Scathing Response to Sen. Feinstein’s Gun Control Proposal: ‘I Am Not Your Subject. I Am the Man Who Keeps You Free’
One U.S. Marine was more than a little displeased with California Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s draconian gun control proposal, which includes an assault weapons ban and provisions on handguns and even “grandfathered weapons.”
The letter, written by U.S. Marine Joshua Boston, was titled “No ma’am” and was first posted on CNN iReport on Dec. 27. The letter has since gone viral and has been shared extensively on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter, as it seemingly has resonated with a segment of the American population.

Senator Dianne Feinstein,
I will not register my weapons should this bill be passed, as I do not believe it is the government’s right to know what I own. Nor do I think it prudent to tell you what I own so that it may be taken from me by a group of people who enjoy armed protection yet decry me having the same a crime. You ma’am have overstepped a line that is not your domain. I am a Marine Corps Veteran of 8 years, and I will not have some woman who proclaims the evil of an inanimate object, yet carries one, tell me I may not have one.
I am not your subject. I am the man who keeps you free. I am not your servant. I am the person whom you serve. I am not your peasant. I am the flesh and blood of America.
I am the man who fought for my country. I am the man who learned. I am an American. You will not tell me that I must register my semi-automatic AR-15 because of the actions of some evil man.
I will not be disarmed to suit the fear that has been established by the media and your misinformation campaign against the American public.
We, the people, deserve better than you.

Politicians have all lost their minds and are more than just clueless they are evil. They never practice what they preach in any area. They tell us we shouldn’t carry a concealed weapon to defend ourselves but have personal body guards. They want us all to drive electric cars yet they get driven around in gas guzzling SUV’s They tell us to lower our carbon footprint but theirs are bigger than any ten American families. We need to get rid of all of them by voting them out of office and pass laws that make all politicians participate in Medicare, Social Security and everything they legislate for us. America has lost its way and its time we took her back starting with people who go to Washington to serve their constituents not to take all they can get, who go to make America better not line their pockets with money that isn’t theirs. The ONLY reason they get paid is because THEY passed laws to make it happen! Laws can be changed and repealed, and if the thought of them getting no pay is too much, why not limit their salary to that of a soldier. I dare anyone say a soldier’s life is less valuable than a congressmen’s service, because if we pay our congressmen more than our soldiers thats exactly what we are saying!

because the very word ‘regulated’ in 18th century parlance in regards to the use of firearms or the military use of them merely referred to the ability to hit the target aimed at, ie. being familiar or trained in the use of the firearm you carried! It had absolutely zero connection to government regulation or control and if you had actually done the research into the 18th century meaning of the word you would have known that.
Next time, before you make an absolute fool of yourself, perhaps take the smallest amount of time to do a little research.
Then again, you provide the rest of us with laughs, as well as the opportunity to bring friends and loved ones into the room to also get that laugh.

And if you need help in defending yourself against any kind of armed thugs coming to challenge your right to own a weapon and not have it registered, know that there are literally an overwhelming force of tens of millions of us out here who have formed militias in order to defend against the out-of-touch politicians who think they are our overlords and not our servants.
And if they think they could control the country and its people by declaring martial law, they had better understand that there is no way the combined numbers of their military and police forces could contain overwhelming numbers of armed citizens in a country 3000 miles wide and 1500 miles deep.
History shows us very clearly that once a sizeable number of people rise up against tyranny in a nation, any existing, unjust authority is eventual;ly hammered into submission.

And not only do we need term limits we need to vote on every important issue by referendum. These out-of-touch politicians vote on what they want, not what their constituents want and they’re so aloof now they don’t bother to even send a form letter in response to any petition or request a person might have.
This country’s political elite live in a plush world all of their own and are UNRESPONSIVE to the people.
We need either a new system where we can have term limits and voting by referendum or we need secession in order to form our own sovereign nation.!

Posted on January 2, 2013 at 11:31pmI think current gun laws go to far. I don’t see why anyone can’t walk into Walmart and walk out with a fully automatic machine gun with 10.000 rounds of ammo. That would make me feel safer. I’m with the corporal. Why should I have to tell the government that I’m the owner of these weapons?
Personally, I’m worried that when push comes to shove, the Government will try to take my weapons in order to render me harmless to them. Obama has already tried that a couple of times. I believe that I should have the right to defend myself against anyone, including the Government.
The fact is the Government could easily take me out, and that’s why I think gun laws are too restrictive. I believe the Founders wanted American citizens to defend themselves if needed against Government tyranny, and that means, first, RPGs. How can I, as an honest American citizen, defend myself if the Government can bring armored tanks against me? Seriously is there any reason to fear an American with an RPG, or, for that matter, a surface to air missile? What if the Government comes at me with drones or attack aircraft? Do I, as an American, have no right to defend myself?
And why is it that I, an American citizen, can’t buy NaCN? Were the Government try to take over the nation and impose an absolute dictatorship, then that compound would come in handy. Any surprise the Government bans OTC sales? I think not.

And the “47 percent”, where did they come from? How about the welfare initiatives of LBJ and the compounded additions of later administrations. If some of the ignoramuses that promoted, sponsored, engineered and passed these dysfunctional giveaways were tried for treason – the ones that are still alive, maybe our present crop of Congressmen would look a bit differently at their responsibilities and how they conduct themselves. Harsh? Not when one looks at what they’ve done to our country. Fiscal cliff? That is a misnomer, and I’m not sure the abyss would cover it.

Last year, more Americans were murdered with knives that with rifles, so it has nothing to do with saving lives.
Chicago just went over the 500 murder mark this year, and it was not rifle being used, it was the cheap hand gun. So after the gov takes the rifles, what it to stop them from taking handguns to “save lives”?

Indeed the fact that we are only discussing how would we respond to a blatant attempt of TREASON against the US Constitution says an awful lot about exactly who we are and where we are at as Americans.

Have talked to several state cops at local gun shop and this is the scuttlebut going around among cops about the newtown school shooting; The AR!15 was not used or fired by Lanza. There is a gag order on this until after new gun legislation is put into law. The police report will not be out until after State and national legislation is enacted. Cops are upset that the country is being misled.

This is a preamble to the second part, and puts part two of the second amendment into context. ‘The Framers’ were referring to the states as “free”, and that a “well armed” militia would be necessary to protect that freedom. The founders had seen tryanny, and knew that man (gov) may well not be able to govern without supression of “we, the people.”
The “free state” is not the government, it was the states.
And THAT, my friends, is why we have part two of the second amendment.

Let those twist the meaning of the 2nd amend, but ALWAYS refute their outright lie. Besides, they do not understand the Constitution or DOI. If they understood history, they would be able to explain it like this HS grad just did.

Heres’ the the facts… Firearms manufactured in the state of Montana after October 1, 2009, and which remain in the state, are exempt from United States federal firearms regulations, provided that these items are clearly stamped “Made in Montana” on a central metallic part. It applies to all firearms other than fully automatic weapons, firearms that cannot be carried and used by one person, and firearms with a bore diameter greater than 1½ inch which use smokeless powder.
The Montana law has no requirements for registration, background checks or dealer licensing. This is protected by the 10th Amendment.

If you did educate yourself regarding this you would know as do many of us that the word ‘regulate’ as used then in reference to military or firearm matters had NOTHING to do with government control but rather is a form of the word that fell into disuse in the 19th century that merely referred to being trained in how to use one’s weapon-how to hit a target.
So, by all means, try again as that last attempt was pretty pathetic.
Oh and you asked what good small arms are if the the military/government comes for them? First, as a former soldier, I distinctly remember swearing an oath to ‘support and defend the Constitution, against all enemies foreign and domestic’. I know we are all taught from day one that we have the right of refusal regarding ANY illegal order. As such, and knowing what I do about the majority of those who enlist, you are not going to have enough soldiers or marines, nor the officers commanding to EVER make that happen.
If for some reason the Government were to try by some other means however, you are also wrong in the ability to resist. Vietnam-the progressives poster child against war-is a decent start

They purchase health care plans like any other federal employee and retirement doesn’t start the day they retire unless they have the years and age in. Anything earlier than that they have to wait until they are 62.

Some states, like Montana and Tennessee, do have the 10th Amendment limitations on it, where you can buy a gun, as long as it’s made in that state, and kept in that state for use. More and more states are looking to institute this legislature, as a go-around the federal laws.
I don’t know if the Scar H lower receiver is registerable, or not. You will have to undergo a background check, and fill out a BATF 4473, plus a transfer fee for your local FFDL, if you don’t have a firearms dealer license. I know about this, because I was just notified by a friend of mine that a friend of his is getting a deal on the lower receivers for AR-style guns, and is passing on the info for anyone who is interested.

Outlawing what they call the “assault rifle” is exactly what they are talking about. There is talks about outlawing or stopping certain types of ammo, certain magazines, certain tyeps of rifles, over things that are ridiculous.
Under the last ban, they stopped flash suppressors. The flash suppressor just angles the gases away from the vision of the shooter, and helps aid in recoil. they wanted to stop bayonet lugs. When is the last time we saw a criminal go bayonet someone? They want to stop the collapsible **** stock, because how dare we have a **** stock that adjusts for short and tall people.
Assault rifle is a political term, not a gun term. Semi automatic rifles have been around for over 70 years. In the 1950s, you could go to a hardware store, purchase an M1 carbine, cases of ammo, and 20 and 30 round magazines.
You might do well to check Feinstein’s previous history with outlawing guns, alone with Bloomberg’s, Clinton’s and many other libs. They want all of them, and if that means piecemeal, then they will go that way.

Every patriot can obtain the complaint pertaining to their districts offender. Sign, notarized and send registered mail to your State’s Courthouse. Thousands of complaints will flood in to be prosecuted. They voted themselves federal immunity and would never investigate each other. In State Courts, their asses are ours, if found guilty, give them the max.
Part two is to restore the Constitution, by making sweeping changes, reversing socialist policies that have destroyed America and enabled our government to become a cesspool of corruption.
Part three, is to downsize government to the size and scope the Constitution commands. These steps are to a corrupt politician what holy water is to a vampire, it stops them cold. We can protest and blog until our fingers bleed, nothing will change.
Join the enforcement arm, teeth of the Tea Party and together, we can put a stop to all this crap.

Furthermore, if you think our troop leaders would actually lead American troops against fellow Americans, you really do know nothing of our military officer corps. Our military officers take an oath of office in which that swear or affirm to protect our nation and the Constitution from all enemies both foreign and domestic. Furthermore, in the officers oath of office there is no reference or mention made of the President. OUR military officers do not swear or affirm to support the President when they are sworn in as commissioned officers. Any order the President issued to the military in violation of the Constitution would be an illegal order. The UCMJ (universal code of military justice) is very straight on illegal orders. Neither officers nor enlisted men are duty bound to obey an illegal order and do so at their own jeopardy!!!

The debate IS about whether or not to take away everyone’s gun. That’s so obvious it needs no further explanation or examples. No, because the weapons you mentioned do not constitute defensive weapons. Stretching your argument to include the most extreme situation doesn’t prove your point, which is a far-fetched example and ludicrous.
Know that the 2nd amentment has nothing to do with hunting and was included to allow the people the means necessary to defend themsdelves against a tyranical government and a portion of the poulace that sides with them.
And consider also that history shows us quite clearly that when the people rise up they usually always defeat the powers that be. There are many examples in recent times, and Libya, Egypt, and Syria are examples going on right now.

In my many years in the military and then civilian employment and finally retirement, I have never seen our country in such total breakdown of liberties and freedoms which many, many died for! I’d say the coward is the individual who never steps forward to his own defense and always expects other to secure his or her safety for them. It’s funny how an individual that takes up arms for his country under oath is a hero by some individual’s estimates but that same individual in civilian clothing is somehow paranoid and a coward if he does the same for his own safety, that of his family and also his community.
He is paranoid because, there is no crime. No there is apparently no reason that he would every need to protect himself or his community. If so why are soldiers armed? Shouldn’t good wishes suffice?
As a former soldier and Iraqi vet, I know better.
You just keep being the coward and project that title onto those of us who are responsible enough to know that the police and other first responders are never seconds away and don’t even have a constitutional requirement to protect the individual, but rather only the community as a whole (US vs Verdugo-Urquidez amongst other cases). You do that and I will be the responsible one prepared to protect my home, family and community, if the need arises.

Posted on January 2, 2013 at 11:01pmYep we pressed the button up front and carried the stroller up the 4 stairs inside. We were told how nice it is to be with like-minded people. My little girl sang E-I-E-I-O through the exhibits and kept trying to engage the mannequins in conversation.

Posted on January 2, 2013 at 11:34pmThat was our first visit. I lived here for years and drove by every day on 66 going home from college. Had a great time and will be back next time we visit – felt so at ease. I DID see my M1 carbine…think I’d like a garand as well.

The displays are professionally done and complete from the Matchlocks, The Mayflower Gun, Jamestown though Muskets up to what the troops are using in Afganistan… Fantastic array of weaponry…
Glad that you and your family had taken the opportunity of the Nations Gun Show, the NRA and their museum..

Well, I don’t recall Nazis marching in the streets with guns prior to 1933! But I do recall Germans registering their guns in 1928, much in the same way some states here in America do. The Nazis didn’t need to ban guns, they were rearming. In 1938 they loosened the laws on the books for Germans, but banned gun ownership for Jews. Hmmm, why would they do that?
The last thing I remember was Nazis singen, “Volk ans Gewehr” while passing out automatics and bazookas to old men and children-lol and a lot of dead Jews!
