Michael Moore Pledges to Stop Saying ‘I Support the Troops’ in Odd New Year’s Resolution List

Filmmaker Michael Moore is known for his controversial views. And on New Year’s Eve the liberal documentary director continued the trend when he outlined his personal resolutions. While some of his goals are benign and commonplace — like pledging to walk more — a few are eyebrow-raising. Case-in-point: the fourth resolution on his list, which reads, “Stop saying, ‘I support the troops.’ I don’t. I used to.”

Michael Moores New Years Resolution: Stop Saying I Support the Troops

After admitting that he no longer supports American soldiers, Moore said he understands why so many people enlisted after Sept. 11, especially considering economic constraints. He went on to claim that many who joined “were then trapped and sent off to invade Iraq.” However, he believes that, at some point, everyone — including those who willing joined — should be accountable.

“But at some point all individuals must answer for their actions, and now that we know our military leaders do things that have nothing to do with defending our lives, why would anyone sign up for this rogue organization?,” he asked.

After making these points, the filmmaker issued his fifth resolution: Apologizing for his fourth resolution. While seemingly counterintuitive, Moore explained why he would apologize for his lack of support for the troops:

I have enormous respect for anyone who would offer to sacrifice their life to defend my right to live. Is there any greater gift one can give another? It’s not the troops’ fault they’re sent to invade other countries for dubious reasons and outright lies. It’s OUR responsibility to prevent this, to elect representatives who believe in peace, and to only put our troops in harm’s way when it’s absolutely necessary. My uncle was killed in World War II. Today would have been his 90th birthday. My dad still misses him. Our family has served this country in the military since the Revolutionary War. None of them watch Fox News.

So, there you have it. Is Moore conflicted or attempting to spark attention? Let us know in the comments section and for the rest of Moore’s resolutions, read his Huffington Post blog.

This is simply a way to counter Glenn’s “Boost testosterone Now” advertisements. Many people who despise flabby Mister Moore do so because of his excessive girth and large bones, regardless that he brings with him a heart for human compassion as wide as the Upper Peninsula. Folks hate fatties so much they don’t really listen to what they contribute making to life here on earth just a little better.

Ironically, many of these haters tolerate the likenesses of morbidly obese Conservative persons without a second thought. Winston Churchill said, “I Told My Doctor I Got All The Exercise I Needed Being A Pallbearer For All My Friends Who Run And Do Exercises!”

After watching Moore’s inability to understand the difference between being wrong and lying in an interview with Bill O’Reilly, he became nothing more than a clown. His absolute inability to discern the difference between the tow shows just how weak his mental facilities are. O’Reilly repeatedly tried to explain the difference, but Moore just couldn’t grasp the difference. If you say something that you believe, that the whole world believes, and it turns out to be incorrect, then in Moore’s mind, it means you lied.
Since Moore deals in almost truths and has made a killing off ignorance, it’s just pathetic that he calls others liars.
He is a colossal embarassment. And I would have no problem making a fool of him in conversation, but it would obviously require an educated audience because he simply lacks the ability to follow logic and reason.

Problem is, you just let them talk and we end up in the same place we were with the media and President Bush. You take the high road, simply trying to let the fools paint themselves into a corner, and they will dominate the narrative. We can’t marginalize them because even if they don’t make news, they are still in the media echo chamber, and more likely than not other entertainment sources will carry the water-weight to the people of America (just like Bill Maher’s idiocy constantly showing up on Family Guy).

Thanks for the reality check! A conundrum for all of us is that is is easier to shovel BS than it is to conceive of and promote really good ideas. So long as the parties are sincere in their efforts to make the World a better place, it is possible to sort through the idea pile and the good ones have a chance of ending up higher in the pile than the bad ones! However, when the ‘other side’ is more interested in stuffing the box, (PhD Syndrome–Piled Higher and Deeper) with garbage, it just overwhelmes those that might have a chance in a more deliberative system. I really dislike chicanery and lunacy, and I feel that we are just mired in it! Those that oppose the garbage, are like Br’er Rabbit fighting the Tar Baby!

      Patience, do nothing illegal.

At the very least he will be an ObamaCare story. He’ll be denied a hip replacement or organ transplant because of his obesity. He will then on at least this one issue turn & attack his fellow leftists. It would be a bout survival. At that point he’ll want to scr_ew the the progressive Democrats.

Moore is a hypocrite. Sooner or later he will be a poster boy for all that the Democrats do wrong.

      – Or he’ll take his money & fly to Mexico for treatment & become a poster boy for hypocrisy like the Canadian official who went to the U.S. for treatment.

      – Or some enterprising health care person can violate HIPPA & leak information to the press that he is getting treatment in contravention to Obama Care rules because he is elite. The press will try to make the story about violation of HIPPA & do their damnedest to find the leaker. But if they fail the people will be outraged.

Moore has a house in Saginaw, Michigan. I was surprised that a city of that size had so much crime. Especially that far north. Let the children of the left eat one of their own.

Sometimes the guilty use the law to protect themselves.

How did Arlen Specter get his transplant? He got it awfully quickly. How would expose the favoritism? A FOIA would have been ignored or denied.

How did we find out that Planned Parenthood had no problem performing an abortion to an underage prostitute accompanied by her pimp. Yes, that is right, someone misrepresented themselves. I assume some liberal can find a law somewhere that was broken.

“Busted Again: Planned Parenthood Aids Underage Prostitution”

Sure James O’Keefes arrested for trying to bug the office of Sen. Mary Landrieu’s office. But what if he had succeeded? We would have seen some the illegal quid pro quo that goes on. Sometimes you have to do it.

Is what Rear Adm. Charles M. Gaouette did illegal? Or was what Obama did illegal. It will take m ore leaks (& it can be argue most if not all leaks are illegal) to find the truth. Surely Obama is not going to turn himself. How do you find the truth if someone or many people at the top are corrupt? You have to steal information & publicize it

subjected to the vile hatred of the very things that made this country great spewed forth
from the gaping mouth of michael moore or any of his cronies.

“”Our family has served this country in the military since the Revolutionary War.”"…
I get the feeling that Moore’s family members only served for the pay check…

Now I know he hasn’t served. Does he have family members who served in Korea, Vietnam, Gulf War I, Gulf War II, Afghanistan? If not, I guess his family has not served in the military since the American Revolution.

      What an asshat.

He’s right. We all felt bad for the guys who volunteered right after the beginning of the war in Afghanistan and ended up being sent off on Bushie’s stupid Iraq adventure instead, but that was ten years ago. Anyone dumb enough to sign up after that deserves whatever they get.

Chet, I bet you support the abdication of American sovereignty to the UN. The UN went into Iraq to get rid of saddamn, it was NOT just the US there, numbnuts. Over 40 countries fought to get rid of saddamn, not just the US. But, being the great humanitarian you are it was just peachy with you that innocents were being murdered, gang raped and tortured for no reason, right? You are either incredibly STUPID or unwilling to admit that the vote to join the enforcement of the surrender terms saddamn AGREED TO was voted on and approved by the US House and Senate. The vote was 297-133.

Remember, it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

The UN did not go into Iraq to get Saddam. The first President Bush worked with the UN during the first Gulf War to repel Iraq from Kuwait. Saddam Hussein was a bad guy, but there are lots of bad guys in the world and we can’t and shouldn’t put our citizens at risk to get rid of all of them. The approval of Congress was secured based on false claims that Hussein posed an imminent threat to our security and that of the region, as was the cooperation of our allies. When the falsity of those claims became known the allies engaged in the conflict on our side fell away one by one.

He will not merely shuffle off this mortal coil. He will fall off of it with a huge “SPLAT!” into purgatory. One with no buffets, no Twinkies, no pork rinds, just granola and tofu.
