John Boehner Re-Elected Speaker of the House

John Boehner Re Elected Speaker of the House

John Boehner was re-elected to another two-year term as speaker of the House on Thursday, capping a turbulent period that saw the failure of his “Plan B” to avert the so-called fiscal cliff and open hostility from fellow Republicans over not holding a vote for Hurricane Sandy aid.

The Ohio Republican received 220 votes, losing just a handful of votes from his party. House Democrats nominated Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, who received 192 votes.

A visibly emotional Boehner used his post-election remarks to decry the rising national debt and said Congress must be “willing, truly willing, to make this problem right.”

“The American dream is in peril so long as its namesake is weighed down by this anchor of debt,” Boehner said.

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) received three Republican votes. Republican Reps. Justin Amash (Mich.), Jim Jordan (Ohio) and Raul Labrador (Idaho) each received one vote. Rep. Jim Cooper (D-Tenn.) received two votes and Reps. John Dingell (D-Mich.) and John Lewis (D-Ga.) each received one.

The Constitution does not require the speaker to be a member of the House, which welcomed two votes for former Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) from Reps. Paul Broun (R-Ga.) and Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) and even one vote for former Secretary of State Colin Powell.

Whether the Republicans or Dems are in power has had no effect on implementation of the agenda – that is why we went from a landslide for Reagan in 80′s to Obama getting 2 terms:

Stalin said “If I could control Hollywood, I could rule the world.†Lenin founder of Soviet Union said “Give me four years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted.†John Dewey went to Russia and influenced education to socialize child to be a tool of the state – to dumb down not teach to critically think. Once there is control of teacher’s unions, education colleges this becomes self perpetuating you remake the country in the schools rather then by throwing bombs. Your children in government schools 7hrs a day for 13 years being indoctrinated with anti-American, anti-God, anti-capitalism.

We have no George Washington to look to because this culture has been driven in a direction designed to destroy it – Best movie I have ever seen putting this all together.

So true. We know who the movers and shakers of communism, now called socialism, are. We’ve known it for years. They did use the unions in 1917 to wrestle away the rights of Russians too. A minority overthrew a vast majority; ironically almost in the same proportions as they are in present day America. Nothing has changed. The problem is, no one reads history.

Don’t worry about Boehner being re elected speaker of the House. He still has to keep his seat back home in OHio. When he comes up for re election there the TEa Party people will try to unseat him. This fight is not in Washington, D.C. It is state to state. These officials have to be re elected back home in their respective states when their TERMS are up. This is where people need to fight. On a state to state election basis. Allen West lost his seat in congress by losing his election back home in his district in Florida. The American People could completely change congress by focusing all their attention on local state elections. WE the People have the power to unseat every member of Congress by attacking their local election process by putting up other candidates and canvassing the voters state by state. This is how to change who sits in Congress.

If more people would have not consented to Mitt Romney in november election (stay home or vote 3rd party), this would have never happened. But because enough Tea Party voted for Romney to make him competitive, the republican party thinks they can win elections by moving a little to the left.

It’s a shame more people did not take a stand and show the republicans the direction they should move towards

The republican party is dead and no longer relevant. Vote Constitution party or libertarian or your vote is for the democommie party. As long as the major population centers are filled with welfare drones, Conservatives have no chance of running this nation ever again. If you ask me, Step #1 is to reform the election laws to require the winner of an election get >50% of the vote.

That means you can have multiple parties and if nobody gets 50%, then there is a runoff. That way you can vote your conscience in round 1 and then “lesser of two evils” in the runoff. Another alternative is to reform the election laws to allow you to vote for more than one person….

Do it like canada and england. 6 week limit for campaigning. Only able to spend x amount of $$$. 3 party system where you have to win the majority of the seats or you are a minority government with the other two parties holding the balance of power. Sorry but even during the 2008 recession canada was a top finisher. They had no banks collapse. No below prime mortgage scandal. Sure canada has debt but not even close to the scale we have. Free health care, work requirements for welfare, employment insurance limits etc. when i lived in toronto for a year i can honestly say they have a waaaay better quality of life there. People were genuinely happy there. The only thing is that apparently the fat fart that became mayor there is a joke. He got tossed for conflict of interest charges. Used his mayor title to solicit funds for a charity. What a joke.

      Let’s say the republicans get 40%, democrats 45%, and Constitution/Libertarian gets 15%

That means the 3rd party would join forces with the republicans. But the republicans would have to give them some control or defer to them on a number of issues….That is much better than the current scenario where the conservative wing of the republican party gets NOTHING

It’s this kind of throwing in the towel attitude that has us in the crappy. Stop taking a nap! Do you live in OHio? try to unseat Boehner there. Strategize with others. GEt to work and get busy and stop giving up! EGad! We have the kind of Republic we have because people are not working hard enough at the local election level to unseat these bozos! Get your head off the pillow and get in the game!

WTF…..as I said on anther article….when Obama has his State of the Union Address lets just lock the doors while we have all of the House of Reps, Senators, Judges, VP and Obama in one place and fire them all. And then try them for treason for not upholding the Constitution.

Boehner is a Republican who just gave into the pressures of progressivism. Do you really think his leadership is going to steer America from self-destruction. If so, you truly are living in your own fairy tale.

Again, no substance. You are no better than the bozos in North Korea and their absolutely meritless accusations. Seriously, you don’t back up your words with anything. EVIL Tea Party! BAD Tea Party! Step up to the plate, how are you backing up your accusations?

So why not un elect them back home? Just unseat them in local elections. Stop throwing in the towel. WE have only just begun to fight. Do you think the Americans just threw in the towel when it looked like the British and King George were going to win? NO! They pressed in harder and smarter to get the British out. Or else we would be Queen Elizabeth’s subjects and are we? NO! Cause WE the People pledged our lives and fortunes together. If you are on this website and live in OHIO then start working to unseat Boehner in the next election. Get busy! Stop throwing in the towel already!

The GOP just reelected Buckling Boehner. Even my new Congressman voted for him! Idiots all!
Do they really expect that the next time there is a showdown with the Dictator of Debt, that Boehner will find a spine? Obama has his number, and will hold out until Bohener caves again! That was a catastrophic strategic error on the part of House Republicans!
I suggest that we all go online the today and change our party affiliation to “unaffiliated”. In most states, it can be done online in two minutes with just your driver’s license number.

Boehner was re elected speaker in the House. But, he still has to win his seat again and again in Ohio. He will come up for re election in Ohio. Unseat him there. Put another candidate up to run against him.
