John Boehner Re-Elected Speaker of the House

John Boehner was re-elected to another two-year term as speaker of the House on Thursday, capping a turbulent period that saw the failure of his “Plan B” to avert the so-called fiscal cliff and open hostility from fellow Republicans over not holding a vote for Hurricane Sandy aid.
The Ohio Republican received 220 votes, losing just a handful of votes from his party. House Democrats nominated Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, who received 192 votes.
A visibly emotional Boehner used his post-election remarks to decry the rising national debt and said Congress must be “willing, truly willing, to make this problem right.”
“The American dream is in peril so long as its namesake is weighed down by this anchor of debt,” Boehner said.
House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) received three Republican votes. Republican Reps. Justin Amash (Mich.), Jim Jordan (Ohio) and Raul Labrador (Idaho) each received one vote. Rep. Jim Cooper (D-Tenn.) received two votes and Reps. John Dingell (D-Mich.) and John Lewis (D-Ga.) each received one.
The Constitution does not require the speaker to be a member of the House, which welcomed two votes for former Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) from Reps. Paul Broun (R-Ga.) and Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) and even one vote for former Secretary of State Colin Powell.

So true. We know who the movers and shakers of communism, now called socialism, are. We’ve known it for years. They did use the unions in 1917 to wrestle away the rights of Russians too. A minority overthrew a vast majority; ironically almost in the same proportions as they are in present day America. Nothing has changed. The problem is, no one reads history.

Posted on January 3, 2013 at 2:54pmDon’t worry about Boehner being re elected speaker of the House. He still has to keep his seat back home in OHio. When he comes up for re election there the TEa Party people will try to unseat him. This fight is not in Washington, D.C. It is state to state. These officials have to be re elected back home in their respective states when their TERMS are up. This is where people need to fight. On a state to state election basis. Allen West lost his seat in congress by losing his election back home in his district in Florida. The American People could completely change congress by focusing all their attention on local state elections. WE the People have the power to unseat every member of Congress by attacking their local election process by putting up other candidates and canvassing the voters state by state. This is how to change who sits in Congress.

The republican party is dead and no longer relevant. Vote Constitution party or libertarian or your vote is for the democommie party. As long as the major population centers are filled with welfare drones, Conservatives have no chance of running this nation ever again. That means you can have multiple parties and if nobody gets 50%, then there is a runoff. That way you can vote your conscience in round 1 and then “lesser of two evils” in the runoff. Another alternative is to reform the election laws to allow you to vote for more than one person….

Posted on January 3, 2013 at 2:56pmBoehner was re elected speaker in the House. But, he still has to win his seat again and again in Ohio. He will come up for re election in Ohio. Unseat him there. Put another candidate up to run against him.
