In a wide-ranging interview, Fox News correspondent Jesse Watters spoke with Bernice Bowers, one of President Barack Obama’s former classmates at the Punahou School in Honolulu, about her memories of young “Barry.” She spoke about his friends, family, drugs, how the school helped shape the president’s “global view,” and even the Obama birth certificate conspiracy.

Bowers was a classmate of Obama’s from “fifth grade” until Obama went to college.

When asked if she saw any “democratic leanings” or “liberal leadership,” Bowers said “we all really benefited in having a global view,” which was reinforced at the school.

“And, I’d say when we first started to hear Barack’s policies and the President’s stance on different issues, it made us so proud to hear a global voice. And that’s what we saw growing up, we were very lucky to have that,” she added. “[The] Punahou curriculum in the 70s was extremely focused on building global citizens.”

Watters also asked about Obama’s admitted experimentation with drugs, including pot and cocaine. Bowers certainly did not deny that the future president used drugs during the time she knew him.

“I especially think that the late 70s in Hawaii, drugs were available and I think whenever you have a private school, where kids might have more access, you’re gonna see more of it,” she said.

One of the most interesting aspects of Watters’ wide-ranging interview involved Obama’s mysterious father, who visited the Punahou School when his son was in 5th grade.

Bowers said Barack Obama, Sr. spoke about Kenya and again, spoke about “this world-view that there is a world outside of the United States and a different perspective that started to resonate with what we were being taught.”

“Everybody was really in sort of in awe of him. He came in a suit,” she added. “He [was] not only very professorial, but we all thought that here was, he felt like an ambassador or a statesman, that made a big impression I think on all of us.”

Regarding Obama’s self-described struggle to find his racial identity, the president’s former classmate said that many students in Hawaii struggled with the same thing due to the “many different racial groups” at the school.

“But, African Americans were not widely populating our schools,” she said. “They were mostly located in the military families. So, that was really an eye-opener for us because African Americans in our school really blended in with the rest of us and it made us more sensitive to the fact that they really were a very small minority of the population.”

In addition to some of the more serious topics, Bowers also recalled “Barry” as having a “great personality” and being very well liked by all his classmates. She explained Obama didn’t “stand out from an academic stand point” but he was still “quite bright.”

“We also have seen and clearly understand that he transformed quite dramatically in college and in graduate school and since then,” she said.

And on Obama’s so-called birth certificate controversy, Bowers called it the “most ridiculous debate I had ever seen.”

“Because all of us were born in Hawaii at that time, we have the same birth certificates… If you happen to have kept the original one, which is a very thin extremely blackened out piece of paper with, you know, it’s very fragile, and what was even funnier was that our classmates, we have twins in our class, they were born right before then, literally their numbers in that hospital were right before his. Their mother knew the doctor who delivered him. So, we all felt that that was an extremely useless debate and wish that American hadn’t gone there.”

What is it with people who insist on living in a fantasyland make-believe world thats all in their own heads?

Ovomit’s “father” was a Communist. He played them system like a pro his entire life riding on others
people’s dollar. He knocked up one young girl after another and abandoned them all once he got what he wanted and they were no longer of any use to him. He left behind a trail of abandoned girls and abandoned bastard children as is the habit of his kind. He was an irresponsible, self-centered, communist Pr**k who used and scarred for life everyone he ever came into contact with. He died the way he deserved —- broke, crippled, drunk and alone.

  They can say the birth certificate is legitimate all day long & I am ok with that. The part I want an explanation to is this… How does a baby born in Hawaii have a Social Security Number from Connecticut? Neither of Obama’s parents were residents of CT, he wasn’t born there, so how does he have a CT SSN????

  Brother Ed, your post was well intended and sincere and I’ll accept it in that spirit. But, of course, that won’t stop me from commenting.
  
  You says that “every liberal you know has a superiority complex.” I’d be interested in hearing how that manifests. Are you sure you don’t have an “inferiority complex?” to use the psychological vernacular. To me that’s just a curious remark.
  
  Of course our country is exceptional! We (meaning Europeans initially) took this small, “undiscovered land,” populated it, and, with the help of native Americans, the French, the Mexicans, Spanish, Germans, Chinese and other immigrants turned this melting pot country into the most powerful country on Earth. Our culture is very new, compared to the thousand year old cultures of other countries but it certainly is unique and powerful.
  
  You bet other people risk life and limb to come here to make themselves a part of our country! Our country is unique, awesome and the envy of other nation on Earth. That’s what I believe and I’m a liberal.
  
  But, in my opinion the Republicans are try to move us backwards, not forwards. A truism in the world of international competition in business is that “The same things that got us here, won’t get us there.” The solution to our continued dominance, exceptionalism, is to go forward, not retreat to those ideas that worked 50 years ago but don’t apply in the world we live in.

And if understanding and being sensitive to cultures that you selling things to makes you the preferred choice for that market, then isn’t that a good thing?

  And to illustrate, look up Ann Dunham, Obama’s mother, take a look at her birthday (November 29th 1942), and then, do the math. President “Yeswecan B. Hopeandchange” was born nine months, within a few days (August 4th 1961), of her 18th birthday.
  
  Looks like Obama Senior had a grand old time with the very naive and younger Ms. Dunham at her 18th birthday party. He took advantage of a young girl by inseminating her and then soon after the future “Comrade Fearless Leader” was born, he dumped Dunham,took off for Africa, and only showed up once during Obama the Younger’s formative years. Deadbeat Dad finally ended up having multiple wives, and if Obama’s half brother can be believed, he beat all of them constantly and violently until his demise.

My great grandma and great grandpa learned english and the way of life here to become a PART of this great country. My great grandma was PROUD to wash by hand every step of her apt. Building in the Bronx to earn an apt for her family to live in. NEVER used America against America. I wonder if welfare recipients would wash the steps of their buildings by hand to earn that apt? What happened to this country?? They just stick their hands out wanting something for nothing. EARN that palace you live in. EARN those food stamps you collect. Given that, what are the things that attracted the other ethnicities to our fair country back in the 19th and early 20th century? List ‘em for me and be specific; I’d really like to know. I know for a fact it WASN’T because we had a school lunch program, or EBT cards, a welfare state, union power, gun laws, a dept of education, gay marriage, abortion etc etc. Secondly, can you run the demographics on who comes here and stays vs. who comes here to get an education and leaves?….

  I can remember the Kennedy assination, or when we had to hide under our desks to practise for air strikes but this girls memory is awesome!!!! she has great detail on recalls about other clssmates, activities, birth cirtificates and the such, damn, she should be the president! Kenya. was it a country back then? I did not think so. was African American the term used on his cirtificate? I did not know the Hawaii used the same SS number as we did in Connecticut, I always thought it was state region as 049-00-0000 , wow, she is an education! i just did not know this. I have two PHDs and this child of 5th grade has taught me things I did not know or thought differently about! children are amazing!. Like father like son I guess.   By ‘superiority complex’, I mean what it implies and what I thought I made clear.
  
  They look down on religious people.
  
  They believe their education makes them smarter than others, therefor they have the right, nay, the responsibility, to tell others how to allocate resources, what to eat, what kind of car to drive, how to run their business, etc. It’s called ‘regulations’. This is acceptable, because “we all have a little Homer Simpson in us”. (except the ones making the rules)
  
  The believe moral restrictions are quaint, but we have moved beyond that now. Hence the name ‘progressives’.
  
  They have replaced ‘equality’ with ‘fairness’.
  
  They have replaced the ‘individual’ with the ‘collective’.
  
  We are probably not that far off on our desires: We both want to live our life in a manor that we see fit.
  
  I think we can get along, but your solution is a bigger government preventing anything bad from happening. My solution is a smaller government and self-reliance.
  
  That equates to a cold-hearted person to a liberal. It is perceived as not caring about others, when in fact, it is the opposite.
  
  I believe we should help each other, but you have to realize that when you are dependent on another, you are not free.
  
  Therefor, I will give a hand-up, but not a hand-out, because I want you to be free. If you do not desire this, you will get my crumbs and be happy with it. If you desire a loaf of your own, you will work for it.

  You are correct, and Obama lets us know how he felt about it by claiming authorship to “Dreams of My Father” without anything about the dreams, perhaps dashed of his mothers.   However, I wonder how this woman can speak for Obama’s birth certificate when she already admits she’s only know him since the fifth grade? Barack Sr. seems to have been a total *******. Everyone else in Obama’s family that we know of in this country are here illegally, why should he be different?   The story about Barry’s father giving a talk at school when he was in the fifth grade had to be a lie because Obama, Sr. Had been sent back to Kenya long before Barry was in the fifth grade. Many if not the majority liberals are religious. Being liberal means you don’t “look down” on any religion, simply because it’s not your own. Conservatives are the ones who “look down” on religions that are not fundamentalist Christian denominations. And no, nobody believes that “moral restrictions are quaint.” We all believe in morality ed, that’s why, as you say, “I think we can get along.”

Actually most are working but making too little to feed their families.   I know a lot of Republicans married to minorities. The military is filled with them The military tends to be more conservative on average than liberal It is at least 40:30. Never heard of them suggesting whites only restaurants. Year after year the Democrats do not want to count military ballots like in Florida in 2000. Wonder why? Many of those enlisted men & officers are married to “surprise” Asians! Well at least it is a surprise to SendtheTRolls. But then it had a hard child hood.
  Now why would they vote for white only restaurants?

Its broad and illogical pronouncements all sound patronizing and hollow, as if Walkabout sees US Military members as microbes on a Petri dish that can be studied to extrapolate American Conservatism.
  
  Walkabout is a team, and one of them acts somewhat familiar enough with US military to make these postings. Maybe it worked in the commissary of a US Base.   Bear in mind that while immigrants have had a wonderful affect on developing this countries’ culture over the past 200 hundred years. The population of this country during that time was primarily white and the immigrants were also primarily white. The percentage of the white population of this country is now at the lowest it has ever been since its founding. The majority of immigrants are no longer white and seem more interested in changing America into a replica of where they came from then assimilating. It seems interesting to me that as the percentage of white citizens and white immigrants has dropped. There has been this matching trend of America’s exceptionalism and greatness dropping as well. Instead of the best school systems we are one of the worst. We have dropped from the best place to live to 16th. We are not even considered the freest country in the world anymore. Multiculturalism does not work. And a country can not continue to excel towards being the best when it lower the expectations of its citizens so others can feel more equal. Political correctness and today’s youth tell us all to ignore what is starring us right in the face. Your kind of ignorance of history and reality is the very thing that allows all others, whether intentional or not, to continue to destroy this country!

The fact that Obama wasn’t an exceptional student (contrary to the narrative he and his enablers have offered) is no surprise either. What little evidence we do have from his college years (because he wont’ release his college records) reflects the same mediocrity.

  Global View of the world is quite common for anyone that went to a private American school overseas. Sometimes they are children of military members serving in Japan or Western Europe. Other times they are European or American kids of multinationals.
  
  And then you grow up.
  
  The devil is in the details. Countries can combine. No problem with that. But their culture & laws have to be very close to start with.
  
  In China women must by law retire at age 55. Do we want that here? Do you want to vote on it? mandatory retirement at age 55 for women & your might live to 85 or 95 7 there is no government health care.
  
  So if the U.S. combined with China in order to get well along the way of one world government, how would that work. One person & 1 vote & 1.2 billion Chinese.

  I have seen this bi tch before in several venues, doing interviews ‘for Obama’. Each time, her presentation gets more polished and complete, almost as if her handlers (Obama campaign) have reviewed her last performance and made ‘corrections’. This stinks to high Heaven!

This is precisely why I don’t want my daughter participating in “International Baccaleaurate” programs at her school. The idea of being “global citizens” pushed by the UN Agenda creates an anti-American world view.

Of course they were in awe of me I was God then and I still am,I recall all my subjects passing out when they were in my presence,they couldn’t help it I was and still am magnificent. Look it’s not like I’m going to allow you to starve to death,okay some of you will but for the most part you’ll be happy knowing you’re all working for my regime and making sure me and my beard and two illegitimate kids live in the lap of luxury.   My wife is Indonesian, and from Jakarta. She says that the POS went to the public school there. And that he would have to be a citizen of Indo. So where is the paper work “Immigration papers/visa/passport”?

c’mon, this is a liberal plant or a plaid sky liberal out on her own trying to paint the President as an everyman.

considering the issues Hawiians have with ‘howley’ outsiders, the whole ‘global instruction’ riff smacks of revisionist history.

there’s no news here, and no concrete information that we can look to and be confident it is more than wishful thinking of someone who ‘rubbed elbows’ with someone famous (or notorious).

Until an administration comes forth and opens the books on his past, none of these pieces will mean anything.

  Punahou used to be a Christian school. So, I doubt it was a far left liberal global school back then as she states. It was a melting pot, but they were educated in Christian-Judeo values not progressive ones.

So what I got from this is:

1. She’s a typical Hawaiian who is so far left that they make Lenin look like Ronald Reagan.
2. Barry attended a *private school* (where did the money come from? Was his family rich? Honest question).
3. Global view aka multi-culturalism was apparently hatched in Hawaii.
4. Barry was narcissitic even then, with the stereotypical charm.
5. He wasn’t academically gifted according to his actual records, but was charming enough to make people think he knew more than he did.
6. He was a stoner even in high school (I personally thought it was only in college, learned something).

All you can do is shake your head.
